    Onsite Owner
    Chelli and Ryan Motherway are the on-site owners of The Goddard School in South Reno. Chelli has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University. Prior to becoming an owner of The Goddard School, she worked in the field of human resource management focusing on employee relations. Ryan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UCLA and has a MBA from Case Western University. Prior to Goddard, he worked in the field of industrial distribution. During his tenure, he gained valuable experience in operations management. They have two children who are both graduates of The Goddard School and are excited to provide families the same great experience they had as Goddard parents.

    Center/Infant & Toddler Director Hi, my name is Crissy and I started here at The Goddard School, South Reno in 2008 as a teacher and became the Assistant Director in 2012. In 2016 I became Director. I grew up here in Nevada and love the small town community that we still have in Reno. I have worked in Early Childhood since 2006 and obtained a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Development & Family Studies from The University of Nevada, Reno. I have served on the Reno Association for the Education of Young Children board as the Historian. I enjoy watching children grow and discover the world around them, while guiding and shaping their young minds.

    Preschool Director
    Preschool Director My name is Kristi and I have been with the Goddard School, South Reno since 2015. I have worked in all roles starting as a Flex Teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Lead Teacher. In 2020 I became the Assistant Director, and a few months later the Director. I have worked in Early Childhood Education since 2010, and I have my CDA Credential. I am currently enrolled at TMCC continuing my education. I have experience working with children in different demographics, including a mental health capacity. I am very grateful for the knowledge I have gained over the years that I am able to apply every day. I have also been fortunate to experience Goddard from a parent perspective, I love the care and compassion my daughter receives every day!

    Infant/Toddler Coordinator
    • Ms. Cierra has earned her AA in Child Development, B.S. in Child and Adolescent Development, and is currently working towards her master's to become a Child Life Specialist. • She has worked with children for 4 years as a Lead Teacher and was an Early Interventionist for 6 months. • Ms. Cierra loves to see children grow and learn in all areas of development. • Her favorite season is Spring because she loves to see the flowers bloom and enjoy the sunshine. • Outside of work, she enjoys exploring nature and going on hikes, as well as, spending time with her family.

    Assistant Director
    Ms. Paula has taught at our school since 2017 and has worked with children for over 25 years. She studied Psychology at the University of California Berkley and has her CDA, Child Development Associate . In addition, she has several credits of training specific to Child Development. Ms. Paula enjoys watching the children learn as well as playing a role in their development. Her favorite season is Spring because the days are longer and warmer and flowers are blooming and, her favorite activity outside of Goddard is attending musicals.

    Lead Teacher - Giraffes
    Ms. Brandy – Lead Teacher – Giraffes - Ms. Brandy returned to our school family in 2022. She previously was with our school 2013-2014 She studied Child Development at Sparks High School and starts at TMCC this Fall. Ms. Brandy has over 16 years of professional experience working with children. She continues her education through Goddard Systems University (GSU) and is CPR and First Aid certified.

    Lead Teacher - Polar Bears
    Ms. DJ earned her Bachelors of Art in Digital Media from UNR and is currently pursuing her Child Development Associate credential. She has 4 years of experience working with children in a professional setting. Ms. DJ also serves our community by being a member of the Nevada Army National Guard. Her favorite season is Summer. She loves to attend Food Truck Fridays, watch fireworks on the Fourth of July and celebrate her birthday. Outside of work she loves kickboxing and hanging out with her friends.

    Lead Teacher - Foxes
    Ms. Evelyn has been working with children in a professional setting since 2017. In additional to numerous credits of training specific to Child Development, she also has her CDA, Child Development Associate credential. Ms. Evelyn loves teaching the children new things and watching them grow every day. Ms. Evelyn’s favorite season is Fall because the leaves change colors and the weather gets colder. She also loves winter and the snow. Her favorite activities outside of Goddard are going camping with her family, road trips when the weather is nice, and anything outdoors.

    Polar Bears - Preschool • Ms. Joecy has earned her CDA, Child Development Associate. • She has worked with children professionally for almost six years and feels that her daughter has taught her a lot too! • As a teacher, Ms. Joecy loves that kids think you are the coolest person no matter what you are doing. “I could draw a line and they’ll be amazed!” • Ms. Joecy’s favorite season is the Fall! She loves when it starts to get chilly and rain. She actually likes the wind and says that Fall is the perfect season to wear her Doc Martens! • Her favorites activity outside of work is to go out and shop with her daughter and family!

    Pandas - One-year-olds • Ms. Lorena has been teaching at our school since 2010 and has completed her Child Development Associate. • She has been working with children ages 2 to 4 years for over 20 years. • As a teacher, Ms. Lorena loves to help children explore new experiences in life and watching them grow. • Ms. Lorena’s favorite season is Summer because she loves to go camping, hiking and other outdoor activities. • Her favorite activity outside of Goddard is trying new restaurants in town.

    Eagles – Pre-Kindergarten •Ms. Pam has earned over 150 credits of training specific to Child Development and has earned her CDA, Child Development Associate. •She has been working with children for over 7 years in a professional setting. •As a teacher, Ms. Pam loves the sparkle in their eyes when they learn something new. •Ms. Pam’s favorite season is Fall because of all the colors and the cozy feeling of the change in weather. •Her favorite activities outside of Goddard are going hiking, painting with watercolors, and drawing. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

    Penguins - One-year-olds • Ms. Ronda has been teaching at our school since 2009 and earned numerous credits of training specific to Child Development. • She has been working with children for 27 years. • As a teacher, Ms. Ronda loves to watch the children’s progress and the unconditional love they give, as well as their innocence. • Ms. Ronda’s favorite season is Spring because she loves the blooming of the flowers and trees, and the grass turning green. • Her favorite activity outside of Goddard is spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren’s sports activities.

    Explorers – Pre-Kindergarten • Ms. Samantha received her Human Development & Family Studies degree from Auburn University. • She has been teaching in a classroom for over a year and has over a decade of experience nannying. • Ms. Samantha loves how much fun children bring to every situation. • Her favorite season is Spring because you can do all the activities. • Outside of Goddard, Ms. Samantha enjoys being outdoors – hiking, biking, skiing.

    Joeys - Infants • Ms. Shawn has her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Spanish Language from UNR. • She has worked with children for the last 5 years at a Head Start Preschool in Truckee. • Ms. Shawn loves how much the children remind her to live in the moment and enjoy the simple things. She loves being able to see the developmental progress children make in their first 5 years and the smile on their faces when they learn something new. • Her favorite season is Summer! She loves relaxing on the beach. • Outside of work, Ms. Shawn loves going camping with her family and dog!

    Co-Lead Eagles
    Ms. Tricia has earned her Bachelor's in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English Language Acquisition and Development from Sierra Nevada University and her Associates in Psychology. She has over 14 years of experience working with age groups 2 to 14 years old in a professional setting. Ms. Tricia loves that when teaching children they also teach her! She loves seeing the growth and development throughout the students learning. It is a great compassion of hers to help kids reach their highest potential and have fun while learning. Ms. Tricia's favorite season is Fall as she loves how the weather feels in fall and the changing colors of leaves. Outside of work, she loves hiking, meditating, and spending time with her husband and 2 dogs. They love paddle boarding in Tahoe and camping.

    Assistant Teacher - Giraffes
    Ms. Bridgett received her high school diploma from Douglas High School. She found her love for teaching while working with children in a facility for victims of domestic abuse. Ms. Bridgett loves working with kids because of the fresh and curious outlook they have on life. Her favorite season is Spring because she loves the rain and plants coming back to life. Outside of work, Ms. Bridgett enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga, and anything outdoors.

    Assistant Teacher - Joeys
    • Ms. Ikbal has earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Uludag University in Turkey and is working towards completing her Early Childhood Associates Degree through West Valley College. • She has worked with toddler and preschool-aged children since 2020 and has been a substitute teacher for the Washoe County School District. • Ms. Ikbal loves to be with kids and see how they grow on their journey. She loves helping their minds develop and teaching communication skills. • Her favorite season is Spring because the weather is nice, not too hot and not too cold. She also loves that there is more daylight, and you can stay outside longer. • Outside of work, Ms. Ikbal loves to meet up with friends and have coffee together.

    Ms. Julia graduated high school and is looking forward to enrolling in a professional development program in the near future. She grew up taking care of her niece and nephews, which created a desire to work in child care. Ms. Julia loves that children are learning and trying to be the best versions of themselves. Her favorite season is winter; the cold brings her comfort and reminds her of love and warmth. Outside of work, Ms. Julia loves writing, it is a huge passion of hers.

    Eagles – Pre-Kindergarten • Ms. Megan has earned her associate degree in Early Childhood Education. • She has over 1-year experience working with children professionally. • Ms. Megan loves learning from the kids. They teach her as much as she teaches them. • Her favorite season is Summer because she loves the lake and being with family. • Outside of work, she loves hiking.

    Flex Teacher • Ms. Savannah has been working with children professionally since the beginning of 2020. • She loves that they all have their own unique personalities. • Ms. Savannahs favorite seasons are Fall and Winter, because of her birthday and family gatherings during that time. • Outside of work, she loves to sleep, being with family and her pets, and color.

    Monkeys - Two-year-olds • Ms. Tracy has started her Child Development Associate Certification. • She has worked with school-age children for the last 8 years. • Ms. Tracy loves how kids have the willingness to learn and loves the smile that teaching brings to children when they learn something new. • Her favorite season is Spring because it is the time of the year when new things bloom and have a fresh start. • Outside of work, Ms. Tracy loves to be artistic and hanging out with friends and family.

    Flex Teacher • Ms. Angelique is studying Special Education with an emphasis on students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing at UNR. • She has volunteered in Elementary school classrooms for two years and worked with children in a children’s event center. • Ms. Angelique says,” There are so many fun teaching moments, seeing kids’ excitement and their face light up when they learn something new is so rewarding.” • Her favorite season is Fall because she loves the trees changing colors, the days are shorter and it is the perfect time to turn on the fireplace and movie nights. • Outside of work, Ms. Angelique enjoys playing and traveling with her dog, Paisley! She is two years old and she brought her home when she was just 8 weeks old.

    Ms. Bre is currently working towards completing her CDA, Child Development Associate. She has over 6 years of experience working professionally with children. Ms. Bre loves teaching children something new and seeing them learn and grow. Her favorite season is Fall because she loves the weather and leaves falling. Outside of work, Ms. Bre enjoys going hiking and photography.

    Flex Teacher – Part-Time Summer Resource • Ms. Elle is a junior at Bishop Manogue High School. • She is new to the field, but has experience with babysitting. • Ms. Elle loves watching children grow and develop throughout their childhood. • Her favorite season is Winter because there are lots of holidays and fun activities to do. • Outside of Goddard, Elle devotes a lot of time to basketball, playing for Bishop Manogue HS and a travel team.

    Flex Teacher • Ms. Gabby has over seven years of experience working with children. • She loves getting to know each and every one of the children in her care and having fun while interacting and doing activities with them. • Her favorite season is Winter, because she loves the snow and how the days are always gloomy. • Outside of work, Ms. Gabby likes to walk her two dogs and enjoys eating and binge-watching shows.

    Jo has received their Associate's degree in Natural Sciences. They have volunteered throughout middle and high school working with children and recently tutored math with middle school students. Jo loves reading with kids and talking about the day and how it is going. Their favorite season is Spring, because of the new beginnings. Outside of work, Jo enjoys dancing, yoga, and reading.

    Flex Teacher • Ms. Kelly received her high school diploma from McQueen High School. • She has experience working with young children as a nanny. • Ms. Kelly enjoys listening to children and adapting her teaching style to fit their individual needs. • Her favorite season is Summer because she likes to do outside activities. • Outside of Goddard, Ms. Kelly likes to take walks on the beach.
