Mrs Akshi, Owner Akshi is the proud owner of The Goddard School located in Chamblee-Brookhaven. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering. She is a proud mother of two happy boys, one being a student at the Goddard. Her children have thoroughly enjoyed their wonderful experience at The Goddard School and as a parent, she understands the need for a quality educational environment for young children. Akshi is dedicated to providing the best possible environment for the education and development of children in our community. She welcomes you to The Goddard School experience.

Ms Ontanee, Director Ontanee Gibbs, Director

Ontanee has worked in the education industry for over 10 years. Prior to joining The Goddard School of Chamblee, she spent four years at the Goddard School of Sandy Springs as an Assistant Director. Prior to that, she spent six years as the office manager and supervisor at another private preschool in the Atlanta area. She began working with children at the age of 12 as a babysitter and professionally in an after-school program for the YMCA beginning in 2001. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and an Associates degree in Marketing. She is currently enrolled at Liberty University for further Early Childhood and Preschool education. In addition, she has several years of Early Childhood Education training that she keeps current every year. Apart from her professional life, she volunteers with her church and works with other non-profit organizations. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as finding new places to visit around the world. Her passion for travel came from her parents who were in the military. She traveled quite a bit which allowed her to see and appreciate the beauty of other cultures. Watching the children learn and grow in a nurturing environment where they are safe is what drives her to want to be a successful Director. She, herself being a parent to a young son, understands the critical importance of feeling confident in knowing your children are safe, happy and learning everyday here at the Goddard School of Chamblee!

Ms Paige, Assistant Director Paige Hardwick, Curriculum Coordinator
Ms. Paige was born and raised in metro Atlanta. She recently moved back from beautiful Lake Tahoe, and is excited to be the new Curriculum Coordinator for The Goddard School of Chamblee. She has an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, and holds a Bachelors in Sociology/Criminal Justice. She has been an Early Childhood Educator for almost 10 years, and in 2016 was awarded with “GSI Teacher of the Year.” She loves working with children, and watching them grow into unique individuals. She is excited to be a part of this team.

Mrs Shuronda, Lead Teacher Lead Teacher - Infant 1

Mrs. Shuronda is from Atlanta, GA. She attended Shorter University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Human Services. She also holds a CDA in Early Childhood Developments, and a total of 10+ years’ of experience as an Early Childhood Educator. Before joining The Goddard School family, Mrs. Shuronda was a teacher at Open Arms Lutheran Child Development for 12 years. She has experience working with ages 6 weeks to 4 years old. In her leisure time, she enjoy spending time with her husband and two children (14 and 4), shopping, going to dinner with friends, and Zumba! She also loves traveling, learning about new cultures, and hopes to visit Barcelona, Spain in the next 3 years. She believes that every child is special and waiting for someone to nurture and guide them, and with the right amount of love and patience will enable that child to reach his/her fullest potential. She strives to provide a learning environment that is relaxing and as fun as possible. Mrs. Shuronda looks forward to interacting with you and your child this upcoming school year. This will be Mrs. Shuronda’s first year with The Goddard School of Chamblee and is very excited to work aside with an amazing faculty and children.

Ms Sirica, Lead Teacher Ms. Sirica has been working with children, specifically Infants for more than 20 years. She holds a Child Development Associate and a tremendous amount of training in the childcare field. She loves working with Infants and likes to watch them grow into their own little personalities.

Her favorite children books are Pete the cat and Llama Llama.

Pamela, Lead Teacher Lead Teacher - First Steps 2

Ms. Pam is originally from Alabama residing in Atlanta since she was three. Ms. Pam began her journey of childcare in the 90's as a full time nanny to many families and taking care of the elderly. In 1996 she became a full time educator in Early Childhood Education. She received her CDA in infant - toddler in 1999 and Preschool in 2001. Her love for this field is overwhelmingly exciting because it teaches her to explore and rebuild life in this new day and age. Exploring the world through the eyes of children makes the joy of giving them more each day. She is excited to be a part of the wonderful Goddard in Chamblee and look forward to meeting you and your little one.


Alicia , Lead Teacher Ms. Alicia moved to Atlanta from Wilmington, NC. She attended undergrad at North Carolina Central University and received her Baccalaureate degree in Psychology and attend a grad college in Louisville Kentucky where she majored in Child Psychology. She has over twelve years of experience working in the Early Childcare Education and over three years primarily at Goddard schools. When she is not working, her three children consume most of her time. Ms. Alicia is excited to join Goddard Chamblee as a Lead Teacher and looks forward to meeting you and your children.


Ms Patrice, Lead Teacher Ms. Patrice was born in Germany and is a mother to three children and a grandmother to two grandchildren. She has over 22 years of experience working in the Early Childhood Education field and holds a Child Development Associate. Ms. Patrice enjoys working with children by asking open ended questions and promoting their independence. She believes, children have an unlimited potential of imagining things and she is constantly helping them evolve in their own ways. She is thrilled and excited to be a part of The Goddard School and wants to be a role model for her students and brighten every young mind she teaches.
Her favorite book is The Granddad Tree by Trish Cooke.

Ms Patrice

Ms Shivell, Lead Teacher Ms. Shivell is a native of Buffalo New York. She recently moved here from Charlotte North Carolina after living there for 7 years. She attended Johnson C. Smith University for undergraduate school, where she received a degree in Elementary Education. She also attended University of North Carolina in Charlotte where she received a master’s degree in Reading Education. She has been working with children since she was 17. Ms. Shivell loves working with children and has experience working with Infants through 11 years. She has worked at an elementary school for the past 5 years. Through her years of teaching she has realized that she has a passion for working with younger children and that’s what led her here to The Goddard school. Her favorite things to do are read, travel, and go shopping. She enjoys visiting her family in Buffalo New York. She believes that all children can learn and that all children can be successful with the support of a strong teacher. She believes in creating a partnership between parents and teacher to ensure the success of the student. She looks forward to meeting you and is excited to have a successful school year.

Her favorite book is “I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings” by Maya Angelou.

Ms Shivell

Ms Antonia, Lead Teacher Lead Teacher - Get Set

Ms. Antonia was born and raised in Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 2017. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mental health Psychology and master’s degree in School Psychology from Inter-american University in Puerto Rico. Her passion to work with children started when she was in third grade and her teacher asked her to be a tutor for Kindergarten student who needed help with reading. Ms. Antonia was a tutor from third grade until she received her bachelor’s degree. Some of her experience working with children include teaching at a church school and at an elementary school during her psychology internship. Ms. Antonia loves to watch movies on Netflix and write essays during her free time. Spanish is her maternal language and she loves teaching new words to the children. She loves how fast the children are capable to learn and is grateful to be a part of your children’s learning journey. With her international experience and educational background, she is proud to bring such diversity to The Goddard School of Chamblee!

Her favorite children’s book is Llama Llama Misses Mama.

Ms Antonia

Ms Diane, Lead Teacher Ms. Diane is originally from Massachusetts. She relocated to Georgia in 2018 and she is excited to be teaching in this wonderfully warm state. She loves to create integrated, literacy-based curriculum and her greatest joy comes from seeing the children engaged in through provoking learning activities that they see as “play”. She has earned her Bachelor of Science in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology and her M. Ed. In Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. She enjoys helping people and doing photography. In her free time she also loves to train dogs. She is excited to be joining The Goddard School of Chamblee as a Lead teacher.

Ms Diane

Ms Lindsey, Lead Teacher Lead Teacher - Preschool 1

Ms. Lindsey is originally from Coral Springs, Florida where she was born and raised. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Emmanuel College where she also played volleyball for 2 years and was an assistant coach for 1 year. Volleyball has always been her passion and it has also paved her way to her second passion, coaching and teaching young children. Lindsey started coaching right out of high school and continues to do so to this day. She now lives in Atlanta with her fiance and their two very energetic and rambunctious dogs. Lindsey does not have any children of her own yet, but she loves to spend time in the infant and toddler rooms and care for them as her own! This will be Lindsey’s first year at a Goddard school but she is very excited to be working for such a great program with wonderful staff and children!

Jessica, Lead Teacher Lead Teacher - Pre K

Ms. Jessica has been teaching since 2013. She has her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Plymouth State University. She loves to see the children learn and grow.She moved from New Hampshire and has been living in Atlanta for one year. She loves animals, coffee, the outdoors, horseback riding, sunflowers, and spending time with her friends & family. Her favorite children’s book is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. She looks forward to working with you and your child in order to make a fun learning experience for all.


Mrs Ruby, Assistant Teacher Ms. Ruby's parents are originally from Mexico and she was born and brought up in Georgia. While growing up she had the pleasure of babysitting for different families and have experience working with Infants through Toddlers. Prior to joining The Goddard school of Chamblee she has worked at another Goddard school in Atlanta. She is currently in school to receive her Diploma to further her education. During her free time she loves to cook, travel, do photography and spend quality time with her family, friends and husband. She is thrilled to be a part of The Goddard School and teach Spanish to the children.

Ms Brieun, Assistant Teacher Assistant Teacher - Infant 2

Ms. Brieun is excited to lead this generation of children to a bright and successful future. She believes that all children can be prosperous; they just need individuals in their lives to help lead them to success. It is also her belief that parents, and teachers are one of many people that can help influence children’s lives and help them achieve all their goals. Creating a partnership between teachers and parents to ensure that they are learning both at school and at home, is very important for her. In her spare time, Brieun loves to play card games, video games and cos play (performance art). Ms. Brieun is confident that as an educator at the Goddard School of Chamblee she will lead children down a path that will give them the best possible chance at a thriving future.

Ms Kearstyne, Assistant Teacher Assistant Teacher - Infants 1

Ms. Kearstyne is originally from Atlanta, GA. She has been working as a babysitter/ nanny for most of her life. Starting at a very young age she has been caring for her six siblings and that is where her passion began. Ms. Kearstyne is also a certified dialysis administrator and has been the primary caregiver for her father who has kidney disease since 2012. Her passion for early childhood development extends past The Goddard School. She enjoys taking her free time to learn more about ways to reach and teach our up coming youth. She is also a cosmetologist that attended Paul Mitchell School and uses her skills to do ‘Princess and Pirate’ parties for children. She’s always ready for an adventure and will always find new ways to reach and teach! She is excited to be an Assistant teacher in our Infant 1 room.

Ms Donisha, Assistant Teacher Assistant Teacher - First Steps 2

Ms. Donisha was born in New York and raised in London,UK.
She has been working with children for a long time which includes working in childcare, schools and babysitting for families. She continued to visit the school where she volunteered and achieved a CACHE Level 3 diploma for the Children and Young People Workforce, for Early Learning and Childcare.
She moved back to USA in 2012 and landed a job in New York at a Head Start as a Teacher's Aide and Bus Monitor, working alongside children of the ages 3-5 years.
She moved to GA in 2013 and worked at another Goddard School in Atlanta.
Her favorite children's book is One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish by Dr. Suess.

Ms Donisha

Ms Carolina, Assistant Teacher Ms. Carolina is born and raised in Georgia, and her parents were born in Mexico. She has a younger brother and an older sister who has a disorder chromosome 9p. She is currently working on her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University. During her spare time, she loves to spend time with friends and family, read, go hiking, go on road trips, and attend concerts. Ms. Carolina finds it fascinating to watch the children grow and discover the world in their own way and is excited to join the Goddard team as an Assistant teacher in the Toddler classroom.

Ms Jacquelyn, Resource Ms. Jacqueline (Ms. Jackie) was born and raised in Atlanta and has passion for working with children her entire life. During high school and college her summer job was a teacher at Roswell Recreation as an Assistant teacher in an art exploration class. Jackie is a triplet so she has learned to be patient early on in life. Ms. Jackie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Reinhardt University in 2015. Her interests outside of the classroom are singing, dancing, art and being outdoors. She will truly enjoy working with your children.

Ms Jacquelyn

Ms Jessica, Resource Ms. Jessica is from Scranton, Pennsylvania, where she obtained her degree in Early Childhood Education at Marywood University.
She is new to the Georgia area, and is enjoying the opportunity to pursue her career in a new environment.
As a child, she had already decided that she wanted to become a teacher by the end of her first day of preschool. She has a history working in children's libraries, and now her favorite part of working with children is sharing books and stories with young learners.
In her spare time, Jessica loves to play with her pet guinea pigs, and even teaches them to do tricks.
Her favorite children's book is Bunny Money by Rosemary Wells.
