Mike & Megan, Owners We are extremely proud to be the on-site owners of the Goddard School located in Horsham. We live in Chalfont with our sons Cael and Connor. Both boys are Goddard students and love it. Mike graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree and taught elementary school for eight years before starting with Goddard. Megan graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelors degree in Finance. Before coming to Goddard, Megan worked for a financial services organization called Mid-Atlantic Capital Group and has years of experience in management.

After years of research and consideration, our family decided that we firmly believe in the education program that the Goddard School provides. Very simply, our mission is to offer families the absolute best Preschool for early childhood development and childcare. Being the onsite owners, we welcome your comments and concerns.

Ms Kristen, Director EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Miss Kristen graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with a minor focused in Human Development and Family Studies. Miss Kristen has been a Director at The Goddard School since 2011. Miss Kristen is responsible for everything relating to education, curriculum and child development. She comes to The Goddard School with over 13 years of experience working with young children ranging in ages from infancy to school age. Prior to joining the Goddard family, Miss Kristen spent six years as a Program Director for a school-age program where she oversaw the development and daily operation of six sites.

She believes that the children grow and flourish in a positive and engaging environment and that the role of early childhood educators is to guide the children through their discovery of the world around them by providing meaningful and fun experiences. Because communication is a key factor in the success of a child, Miss Kristen encourages an open line of communication between herself, the teachers and the parents.

Ms Nicole, Director ADMINISTRATION DIRECTOR- Miss Nicole has been part of The Goddard School since 2008. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gwynedd Mercy College, with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Miss Nicole has over 10 years of experience caring for young children ranging from infancy through school age. She believes in creating a positive and safe atmosphere where children feel comfortable in their environment. She feels the most important aspect of education is to provide the appropriate tools necessary for each child to succeed. Also, the partnership between home and school is important as it will allow a child to advance by feeling supported.

Ms Carolyn, Assistant Director PRESCHOOL ASSISTANT TEACHER - Miss Carolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Miss Carolyn joined our school in 2009 with a great passion to teach young children. In addition to working in the toddler classroom, she also works every afternoon in the Kindergarten classroom. Miss Carolyn shares her art talents in many ways throughout the school.

She believes that in order for children to grow and learn they must feel safe and secure in their environment. Children need to know that it’s alright to make mistakes, take chances and feel free to be themselves. She believes that children are explorers and love to learn new ideas and concepts. By providing children with a creative and fun learning environment, Miss Carolyn feels that we are able to meet the needs of all children and accommodate multiple learning styles. A classroom must be a warm and caring environment where we can all learn from each other and contribute.

Ms Brooke, Lead Teacher INFANT LEAD TEACHER - Miss Brooke graduated from Albright College with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. She has been a teacher at The Goddard School since 2004 and has experience working with infants, preschool and older toddler classrooms.

Miss Brooke believes that children, especially when they are young, are very eager to learn new things. She thinks that if information is presented in a creative and exciting way, the children will want to learn more. That eagerness will result in the children wanting to explore even more. This is a very powerful way to create a love of learning.

Ms Kathryn, Lead Teacher FIRST STEPS TEACHER- Miss Kathryn is the lead teacher in our First Steps Classroom. She is currently enrolled in a university where she is pursuing her degree. She also has her Child Development Credential (CDA) in Infant and Toddler Studies. Prior to joining our school, Miss Kathryn worked at a Goddard School located in her home state of Virginia. She has experience working with children of all ages as well as being an assistant martial arts teacher to boys and girls ranging in ages from 5 to 12 years old.

Miss Kathryn believes that children have an innate desire to learn and learn best through a combination of creative play and engaging instruction. She looks forward to getting to know each family and building a relationship that is supportive and promotes learning.

Ms Jen, Lead Teacher PRE TODDLER LEAD TEACHER - Miss Jen has been a part of The Goddard School since February 1999. She graduated with honors from Temple University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In 2007 Miss Jen was named Teacher of the Year from over 300 Goddard Schools across the country. She finds great joy in planning and implementing fun, hands-on learning activities for the children to participate in daily and enjoys being around children and finds spending time with them very rewarding.

Ms Christina, Lead Teacher TODDLER LEAD TEACHER - Miss Christina holds a Child Development Associate credential in Early Childhood Education. She has been a member of the Goddard Team since 2004. She is very experienced in working with the Toddler age group and enjoys the natural curiosity and boundless energy they have at this age.

Miss Christina strongly believes in the importance of providing a consistent, happy environment for children to grow and learn. She feels this environment can be created by providing children with opportunities to explore new activities, while making them feel safe and secure. Miss Christina enjoys spending time with every child creating a special bond with them. She strongly believes that a teacher’s most important job is to be there for both the children and parents.

Ms Stephanie, Lead Teacher GET SET LEAD TEACHER - Miss Stephanie received her Child Development Associates credential in 2014 and has been a member of The Goddard Team since 2011. Prior to coming to The Goddard School, she volunteered and taught in a preschool setting as well as had the opportunity to be an assistant teacher in a kindergarten classroom while taking a course at Montgomery County Community College.

Miss Stephanie thinks that it is very important for teachers to make learning fun for children. If the children are happy and enjoying themselves they will be able to learn a great deal more. She enjoys spending her day playing with the children on the floor. She feels it is very rewarding to create meaningful relationships with each child.

Ms Nicole, Lead Teacher PRESCHOOL LEAD TEACHER - Miss Nicole graduated from DeSales University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She joined The Goddard School® in 2008 with a great deal of experience working with young children.

Miss Nicole’s teaching philosophy is to reach all children and make their learning fun and enjoyable. She believes that it is important for the teacher to make children feel comfortable and safe in the classroom. She also believes that all children learn in different ways. Miss Nicole is also committed to creating a classroom full of hands-on learning activities for children to participate in throughout the day.

Ms Semmie, Lead Teacher PRE KINDERGARTEN LEAD TEACHER - Miss Semmie is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Education for both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Miss Semmie is bi-lingual speaking both English and Korean. She joined our school in 2011 with a great deal of teaching experience. In addition to working with the Pre-K classrooms, Miss Semmie has worked in the older toddler and Get Set classrooms as well as our Kindergarten program.

Miss Semmie believes the ultimate goal of a teacher is to guide students in their learning experience. As a teacher, she will provide the students with the information and resources necessary for them to explore, to learn and to make their own experiences. Alongside the students growing as intellectuals, it is equally important for them to grow as individuals. Miss Semmie strongly believes that it is important to make available to the students opportunities that enable the ability to mature in all domain areas. She will offer guidance and a safe learning environment for all students. Building a sense of community in the classroom is very important to Miss Semmie.

Ms Joanna, Lead Teacher PRE KINDERGARTEN LEAD TEACHER-Miss Joanna is a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. Prior to joining The Goddard School, she was a preschool lead teacher as well as being a lead art teacher for a summer program.

Miss Joanna believes that each student within a classroom plays a unique and irreplaceable role in the classroom community. For this reason, she believes the teacher must strive to include students interests within the daily curriculum to ensure each student becomes an active participant in his or her learning. Miss Joanna also believes that children learn best by participating in hands on learning activities that naturally engage children.

Ms Kristen, Lead Teacher KINDERGARTEN TEACHER - Miss Dutkiewicz graduated Magna Cum Laude with program honors from Gwynedd Mercy College where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. Miss Dutkiewicz has been a part of our school since 2002. In addition to her experience with Kindergarten, Miss Dutkiewicz has also worked with the young toddlers, older toddlers, infants as well as elementary school age children during Camp.

Miss Dutkiewicz believes that all children can learn and be successful in their education. Teachers must create a warm environment with structure where children are constantly engaged. Each lesson should reach all children and be adapted for a variety of needs and learning styles. It is important to create a safe environment where children can thrive and grow through cooperative and hands-on learning.

Ms Amishi, Assistant Teacher INFANT ROOM ASSISTANT TEACHER- Miss Ami is a teacher in our school. Miss Ami received her Child Development Credential in 2014. In addition, she has ten years experience working with pre-school, toddlers and infants. Working with the different age groups has allowed Miss Ami to gain a better perspective on the importance of creating developmentally appropriate activities for the children.

Miss Ami feels that the role of a teacher is one of the most important roles in a young child’s life. Teachers promote self confidence and esteem that can impact a child’s life. The learning experience for children should be creative and fun and a happy and friendly environment is key in a child’s success.

Ms Yasmeen , Assistant Teacher PRE TODDLER ASSISTANT TEACHER-Miss Yasmeen is an assistant teacher in our Pre-Toddler classroom. She is currently attending Montgomery County Community College where she is taking courses in early childhood education. Prior to joining our school, Miss Yasmeen was a teacher for a Before & After care program in an elementary school.
Miss Yasmeen believes that every child is bright and different. It is the teachers responsibility to bring out their best qualities and showcase them for all. Miss Yasmeen wants children to think of learning as fun and wishes for them to be brave, kind and empathetic towards others.

Ms Jennifer, Assistant Teacher TODDLER ASSISTANT TEACHER-Miss Jenn is an assistant teacher in our Older Toddler Classroom. Prior to coming to The Goddard School, she worked with middle school children in a local school district. Miss Jenn has also volunteered as a classroom aide in an elementary school as well as nannied with various age groups.

Miss Jenn believes that patience is the key to teaching young children. All children learn at their own pace and in different ways. Miss Jenn believes that children reach their full potential when they are surrounded by a comforting and nurturing environment.

Ms Karina, Assistant Teacher GET SET ASSISTANT TEACHER- Miss Karina is an assistant teacher at our school. Miss Karina has a Child's Development Associate Credential with a concentration in Infant/Toddler. She is currently attending Temple University where she is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Miss Karina has experience working with children of all ages as well as being an assistant dance teacher to boys and girls ranging in ages from 3 to 12 years old.

Miss Karina believes that children learn best by playing with other children. She believes that it is very important to make learning fun for children at a young age to reach their full potential as learners and have a successful educational experience.

Ms Joyce, Assistant Teacher ASSISTANT TEACHER - Miss Joyce completed her Child Development Associate degree in 2013. She has been a part of The Goddard School Team since 1999. During her time here she has worked with a variety of age groups ranging from infants through preschoolers.

Miss Joyce enjoys spending quality time every day with each child in her classroom. She believes that all children are special and have something unique to offer this world. She takes pleasure in being part of the Cuddly Calves classroom and finds working with this age group to be very rewarding. She loves to watch the babies grow into curious toddlers and is still amazed and excited when each infant reaches the many milestones that occur during the time spent in the infant room.

Ms Gianna, Assistant Teacher PRESCHOOL ASSISTANT TEACHER - Miss Gianna received her Child Development Associate's credential in 2012 as well as completed several courses in early childhood education through Temple University and Montgomery Community College. She has been a part of our teaching staff since 2006 and Miss Gianna has taught in the young toddler, older toddler and preschool classrooms throughout her years here at The Goddard School.

Miss Gianna believes that all children learn differently and learn best in an interactive environment. She thinks children benefit from visual and hands-on learning as well as working in small groups. Teachers should always put forth as much effort as possible because children will learn better with someone who remains focused and dedicated to the profession.

Ms Beata, Assistant Teacher PRE-KINDERGARTEN ASSISTANT TEACHER-Miss Beata is an assistant teacher at our school. She received her Child Development Associate's credential in 2017. She is also enrolled at Montgomery Community College where she is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has experience working with young children ranging in ages from 3 months to school age. Miss Beata also has experience working with children with special needs and autism. Miss Beata will be attending college to pursue her degree in Early Childhood Education.

Miss Beata believes that teachers should challenge their students and help them grow to their full potential in a safe and happy environment. She believes that each child is special and a teacher has the responsibility of recognizing her students’ uniqueness and building their self-esteem and confidence. Children should be engaged in hands on activities and allowed to play to discover their world around them.
