The Goddard School In York Celebrates Five Years With Expansion

November  28, 2018 / A new facility is anticipated to open in spring of 2019

YORK, PA (Nov. 28, 2018) – Celebrating five years of serving York and the surrounding communities with its play-based learning program, The Goddard School located in York, PA is adding more space to its facility.

A 3,000-square-foot building is anticipated to open in the spring of 2019 and will be constructed next to the current Goddard School. It will allow more children ages six weeks to six years old to attend the York location.

Owner Leena Patel plans to commemorate this new addition during the current preschool’s fifth anniversary celebration on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will include family-friendly games, facepainting, and light refreshments. A groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, to help kickoff construction.

During the events, Leena will discuss with parents and those interested in sending their children to her school about the benefits the new space brings to the community. While the design will mimick the current space on a smaller scale, it will have additional features that include an indoor playspace, outdoor STEAM and music classrooms, a faculty lounge and a kindergarten classroom. The plan is to continue to expand on The Goddard School’s philosophy of learning through play and exploring their individual interests.con
STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) is an important part of Goddard School’s educational programs. STEAM concepts are transformed into exciting, fun experiences for children. Introducing these concepts at a young age helps children develop a strong foundation for their future education and a passion for STEAM learning.

“The Goddard School located in York has focused on local children’s academic, social and emoitional success for the past five years,” Leena said. “With this new space, we’re expanding to further enhance children’s learning experiences and provide a safe and nurturing environment, where they can begin to develop building blocks for future academic success.”

The Goddard School’s play-based F.L.EX.® Learning Program (Fun Learning Experience) is grounded in research on how children learn best: children experience the deepest, most genuine learning when they are having fun. The focus is on building each child’s emotional, academic, social, creative and physical skills to provide a well-rounded experience and ensure each one becomes confident, joyful and fully prepared in school and in life.
