    Lian & Rebecca

    Hello, we are Lian and Rebecca Chen, proud owners of The Goddard School located in Manassas. We have two young daughters, both graduates of The Goddard School and currently in elementary school. We can definitely see how their preschool experience provided the foundation for learning, socializing and creativity. Mr. Lian is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a master’s degree in Computer Science. Mrs. Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Mrs. Rebecca also has a background in Early Childhood Education and over 14 years of teaching experience working in various preschools including a local Goddard School. Before opening The Goddard School, Mrs. Rebecca was also an educator for children with Autism at Montgomery County Public Schools. Both Mrs. Rebecca and Mr. Lian are First Aid and CPR certified and MAT trained. Mrs. Rebecca holds an Abuse Prevention Certification. We are committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in our community. The Goddard School program offers children the fun and learning experience to become school-ready, career-ready and life-ready.     Ms Layla

    Education Director
    Ms. Layla holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lander University. Ms. Layla has taught preschool through second grade over the last 8 years, both in a public and private school setting. Teaching is Ms. Layla’s true passion. Through her experience as a teacher and as a director she is a firm believer that children can gain academic and life skills from educators that know how each individual child learns best. Ms. Layla holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and is MAT trained. Ms. Layla also holds an Abuse Prevention Certification. She enjoys cooking authentic foods, windy Fall days and sharing many laughs with her family.

    Amber

    Pre-K Teacher
    Ms. Amber has 4 years experience working with children ages 3-5. She started as a head start assistant teacher in Pennsylvania and joined Goddard when she made the move to Virginia. She does have her CPR and first aid certification. Ms. Amber hopes to finish her Bachelors in Psychology by the beginning of next year. After that she plans on starting her Masters. Ms. Amber enjoys reading, traveling, and doing activities with her dog.

    Pre-K Lead Teacher
    Ms. Andrea has over 16 years of experience in Early childhood education, she received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Notre Dame of Maryland University and an associate degree in Child Development from Luzerne County Community College. Ms. Andrea holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and an Abuse Prevention Certification. She really enjoys working and being around children. She likes to do arts & crafts and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat Lily.

    Ms. Cynthia has worked with infants through school-age children for 2 years. She believes that every child learns differently and as teachers it's our responsibility to make them feel welcomed with how they learn and think. Ms. Cynthia is pursuing her associate's degree in Child Development. She holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and an Abuse Prevention Certification. She enjoys spending time with her family and teaching choreography.

    Toddler
    Ms. Olivia has been working with children for 3 years, varying in age. She loves working and doing crafts with children, she believes every child is their own person and should be treated as such. Ms. Olivia holds a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Sociology from University of Iowa. She holds a First aid and CPR certification. She enjoys reading, music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
  • Mrs Sarah

    Mrs Sarah

    Preschool Lead Teacher
    Mrs. Sarah brings with her 18 years of prior Early Childhood Education experience and extensive training. She previously had 4 years of experience with The Goddard School as a lead teacher for three-years-old's. She also spent 10 years working for Early Head Start as a Family Teacher where she was a family advocate and teacher for infants through three years of age in a multi-aged setting. Mrs. Sarah holds an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashworth University. In addition, she has a Family Development Credential for Strengths-Based Family Worker from Temple University. She is currently enrolled in Arizona University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education Administration. She also holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and an Abuse Prevention Certification. Mrs Sarah is MAT trained. Her passion is building relationships with families to build a sense of community in a safe, happy and loving environment.

    Ms Yareli

    First Steps Lead Teacher
    Ms. Yareli has worked with infants through school-age children over the last 4 years. She enjoys teaching and respects children for their individuality. She is pursuing her associate's degree in Psychology from Northern Virginia Community College. She holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and an Abuse Prevention Certification. Ms. Yareli enjoys watching documentaries and spending time with her family.
  • Ms Yassine

    Ms Yassine

    Young Toddler Lead Teacher
    Ms. Yassine has worked with young toddlers to school-age children over the last 8 years. She has an associates degree in Child Development and holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and holds an Abuse Prevention Certification. She believes every child deserves to feel safe, seen, heard and loved. Ms. Yassine enjoys baking with her daughter.

    Zuhra

    Get Set Teacher
    Ms. Zuhra has been teaching infants through toddlers for over 3 years; she holds her certificate in Infant and Toddler career studies and her associates degree in Early Child Education Development from North Virginia Community College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Early childhood education from George Mason university. Ms. Zuhra has great passion for caring and teaching children. Ms Zuhra enjoys spending time with her family and learning more on how to become the best educator for children.

    Having taught children varying in age, infants through school age. Ms. Deniss enjoys caring and loving every child and understands that each child should be taught based on their individual needs. Ms. Deniss is currently working towards getting her registered nurses associates, she hold a first aid and CPR certification. She enjoys spending time with her family and teaching children.

    Ms. Karen has been working with children for the last 2 years; she has taught infants through toddlers. Ms. Karen enjoys seeing children succeed in developmentally appropriate goals. She holds a First Aid and CPR Certification. Ms. Karen enjoys bowling and spending time with her daughter.

    Ms. Allison has been working with children for 2 years, she has taught toddlers through school-age children. She enjoys and takes interest on seeing how children thrive throughout the years in their educational journey. She currently is working towards getting her certified nursing assistant certificate. She holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and her certification in abuse prevention. Ms. Allison is very artistic and enjoys painting on canvases. She enjoys spending time with her family.

    Ms. Kayla has been teaching for 2 years; she has taught infants through school age children. Ms. Kayla believes and respects that every child learns at their own pace. She holds a First Aid and CPR Certification and an Abuse Prevention Certification. Ms. Kayla enjoys all sports, spending time with her family, and drawing.
