  • Sobia & Shakeel

    Sobia & Shakeel

    Owner
We are the proud owners of the Goddard School of Fort Wayne. Shakeel is a Physician and board certified in the Critical Care Medicine. He works in an ICU and teaches medical students as well as junior doctors. Sobia has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Health Information Management as well as Master’s in Mass Communication and Teaching Certification from Ireland. Sobia has a passion for teaching and has been volunteering in her spare time in the Indianapolis Public Schools to teach Pre-K and Kindergarten students while she was working as a medical coder. We believe that a child's early years are the foundation for his or her future development, providing a strong base for lifelong learning and learning abilities, including cognitive and social development. Research shows that a child’s early years lay the foundation for all that is to come. Early education can play a critical role during this important developmental period. We both saw the need for quality early childhood education in the Fort Wayne area, and decided to open the Goddard School because The Goddard School uses the most current, academically endorsed methods to ensure that children have fun while learning the skills they need for long-term success in school and in life. Our talented teachers also collaborate with parents to nurture children into respectful, confident, and joyful learners.
  • Ms Tonja

    Ms Tonja

    Director
Tonja has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University. She began her Early Childhood career in 1994. She has worked as a teacher in the classroom, Education and Disabilities Manager for Head Start, directed a corporate owned childcare center as well as a ministry. She was a coach for The Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children working with programs that were maintaining or progressing levels in the statewide Paths to Quality program. Tonja is excited to be directing staff again and working in a program that is dedicated to building foundational learning skills in young children through play. Coaching was a wonderful experience but lacked the sense of community that directing offers. Tonja is committed to providing families with a developmentally sound environment and curriculum that allows children opportunities to grow and thrive while having the freedom to explore the world around them.
