  •  Denise


    We are Denise and Mitch Manders, proud owners of the Goddard School of West Carmel. Denise attended Indiana University (Bloomington) and received her Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. She started her career in public accounting and left corporate as an executive director in a Fortune 500 company. Mitch received his Masters of Accounting at Miami of Ohio, started his career in public accounting, and is currently the chief financial officer of a product fundraising company. We have three children – Evan (7 years old), Noah (5 years old) and Layla (2 years old) who keep us very busy throughout the year! As parents of the school, we recognized how important it is to create an environment of love and empowerment for the children and teachers. With our background in business, and our passion to make a difference for others, we were excited to start this new journey as owners of the school!

    Education Director
    Jada earned a bachelor's degree in Special Education and Elementary Education with a focus on literacy from Purdue University, along with a minor in Global Studies. Her journey in early childhood education began as an assistant teacher in a multicultural preschool, followed by teaching standard 1 and preschool in a rural village in Tanzania. Since joining Goddard in 2015, she has nurtured young minds from infants to kindergarteners. Most recently, she served as a curriculum specialist, supporting teachers in fostering intentional learning experiences. Jada believes in offering differentiated learning opportunities through a curriculum focused on play and exploration. She is dedicated to empowering teachers to make a positive difference in the lives of all children at the school.

    Operations Director
    Katie has over a decade of experience in early childhood education. She obtained her CDA shortly after joining the field of ECE. She is currently going through the Early Education Leadership Program with Harvard University. Her teaching experience spans from infancy to school age. She also has four years of prior management experience as an Assistant Director. She currently lives in Speedway with her husband and her son. What she enjoys most about working in this field is watching all those around her learn, grow, and thrive! She hopes to bring positivity, excitement, and a new perspective to The Goddard School of West Carmel and looks forward to making a positive impact on the community!
  •  Tonya


    Health and Safety Leader
    Tonya has worked at The Goddard School since 2005 and has been the teacher in various classrooms with infants through young toddlers. She attended Ivy Tech and received her CDA in 2004. Tonya has worked with children since 1998 and loves every minute of it. She enjoys working at Goddard because she gets to provide the tools for the children to learn and grow. Her dedication to the school helps to ensure children with consistent care and trusting relationships. Tonya loves to be able to watch her students develop from infancy up through the building into PreK students.

    Social-Emotional Learning Coach
    Donna has joined the Goddard School with over ten years’ experience working with students with autism. She has worked as a teacher in both private centers and public schools in New Jersey, New City, Delaware and Indianapolis. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers College and her Masters degree in Special Education from Ball State. Donna believes in providing children with the strategies needed to help them develop emotional, social and cognitive skills needed to be successful learners.

    Luz has been the kitchen manager at The Goddard School since 2015. Before coming to this school, she worked for several years at another child care facility. Luz feels every child deserves to have tasty, nutritious meals, and that’s what she makes them in return for their huge smiles. Luz looks at her position at our school not only as a job but as a second home where she can cook as she loves to do for her own family!

    Lead Teacher
    Ms Rachel received her BA in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University. She also has her MA in Education with a minor in Early Childhood Development from Concordia University - Portland. Ms Rachel believes children need the space to play and explore to make connections and that teachers should provide a safe place and structure to help students navigate their feelings and social interactions. She strives to make her classroom a community where kids and teachers work together to have a great learning experience.

    Lead Teacher
    Amber is a preschool teacher and has worked at The Goddard School since 2013. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising. She has worked with children for many years and has been able to educate children of various ages. She has experience teaching young toddlers through PreK while being at Goddard. Amber understands how to create developmentally appropriate learning activities and experiences for children in her care and is passionate about building connections with children and families. Amber enjoys being at Goddard because she gets to see the smiles on all the children's faces and watch them grow. Her dedication to the school has provided many years of children establishing trusting relationships with her and positive connections with families for many years.

    Lead Teacher
    Ms Alaina (Allie) has a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Ball State University. Before coming to Goddard she taught Kindergarten for two years and has many years of experience leading preschool classrooms. Allie also has experience and training in using Montessori principals in education and is excited to intertwine Montessori ideas into her Goddard classroom. Allie's teaching philosophy revolves around respecting each child's individual development and personality. She values meeting children where they are and working from there. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and loving classroom community full of life long learners. Allie is an avid reader and children's book writer and loves to share her love of reading with children.

    Lead Teacher
    Ashley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. Her teaching philosophy is to develop a safe, healthy learning environment for her students where they learn and explore through experiences. She incorporates more hand-on activities and implements learning through play. Ashley believes that it is important to focus on all aspects of development in every child and challenge them based on their own individual needs. Each child is different and comes with different experiences that affect how they learn. Her goal is to make the first years of education be exciting, engaging and individualized to each child in her classroom.

    Lead Teacher
    Ms Audri attended Ivy Tech Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Elementary Education. She believes that teaching is about having an honest, intellectual relationship with her students. Ms Audri hopes to ensure her students arrive to an organized and inclusive classroom. She looks forward to ensuring she acknowledges her students' growth and making sure they reach their goals!

    Lead Teacher
    Carolina feels passionate and fortunate to be teaching in the field of early childhood education. She believes all children are unique in their own way. Carolina feels that it is a teacher's responsibility to provide a comfortable and interactive learning environment. She encourages students to embrace their differences and express themselves. Carolina plans interactive lessons and she helps students develop a love for reading!

    Lead Teacher
    Diana has more than 6 years working with children in nannying and working at another childcare facility. She has been CNA trained and is fluent in Spanish and English. Diana has worked with children’s from newborn up through kindergarten. Her learning philosophy is that children learn best when they have hands on experiences, she also believes that having a good and clean environment and the right equipment helps the kids learn better. Her goal in the classroom is to establish a good relationship with both the children and parents. Also, to keep them safe, healthy, and have a fun environment.

    Lead Teacher
    Ms Katelynn graduated from Ben Davis High School, also earning her CDA certification. She has been working with children for almost 3 years and her goal is to ensure that everyone in the classroom feels safe and loved. She believes that children learn best when all of their needs are met.

    Lead Teacher
    Lauren has a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Psychology. She has also taken courses through the University of Indianapolis for Art Therapy. Lauren has experience working with children with special needs through course work, summer camps, and previously as a Behavior Technician Assistant. Her teaching philosophy is that learning should be fun and purposeful. She wants children to have meaningful learning experiences and create memories from the activities that they do together in the classroom. Her goal in the classroom is to provide children with a safe, healthy, and fun environment for them to explore.

    Lead Teacher
    Madi has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Butler University. She believes that every child learns differently and designs classroom activities with the diversity of learning styles in mind. She focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment where all children can interact and engage with their teachers and peers. In her free time, Madi enjoys volunteering at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.

    Lead Teacher
    Stacy has a bachelor's degree from Ball State University in Elementary Education and has over 20 years of experience working and caring for children of all ages. Stacy was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award by The Indiana Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning in 2021. Her teaching philosophy is that children are full of curiosity and because of this they learn from exploring the world around them. Children can be life long learners when you foster a love for learning and create a nurturing environment and experiences for children to thrive. Her goals for the students in her room are to build positive relationships and allow children's natural curiosity and imagination to build while they learn through play.

    Lead Teacher
    Valerie has a Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Early Childhood. She has been with Goddard since 2020, working primarily with infants and young toddlers. Her teaching philosophy is that children learn and grow when they are provided with a safe and nurturing environment. She believes in providing developmentally appropriate activities for each individual child. Valerie's goals in the classroom are to establish relationships with both children and families while providing the best care for all the children in her class.

    Lead Teacher
    Victoria holds a degree in Child Development and Family Services from Purdue University. She has served as an educator for infants, toddlers, and twos, an assistant director, and a director in early childhood education. She believes that children are inherently good, curious, and eager to learn. Her philosophy is that educators have a responsibility to nurture and guide children's natural love for learning by creating a supportive environment that engages all developmental domains. Her goal is to foster exploration, creativity, and critical thinking in her students to empower them to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.

    Lead Teacher in Training
    Abigail has been with Goddard since 2022. She believes play is the highest form of learning. She hopes to encourage children to learn through trial and error, discovery, and exploration. Her goals in the classroom are to connect with students and their families, support the children as they grow, and to be fun and messy!

    Lead Teacher in Training
    Amanda graduated from IUPUI with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. She hopes to create a classroom where all learning styles are welcomed and nurtured so her students can thrive. Through art and sensory activities, she fosters an atmosphere of imagination and creativity for her students. Her goal is to encourage a growth mindset where every child believes they can achieve anything they set their mind to.

    Lead Teacher in Training
    Chloe believes that children should be given the opportunity to learn and grow at all times. She believes it's a teacher's responsibility to understand the needs of every child under her care.

    Lead Teacher in Training
    Kylie has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Neuroscience. Her teaching philosophy is that children best when they are given a safe environment and fun learning experiences. She believes in teaching children the skills they need to grow and overcome any obstacles they may face. Kylie's goals in the classroom are to establish routines and an environment that will help each child develop their social-emotional skills and communication with their peers.

    Lead Teacher in Training
    Mitchell studied Music Education at Ball State University. He is inspired by children's natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. He believes in fostering a safe learning environment where every child feels comfortable exploring academic skills and developing emotional regulation. His goal is to incorporate play-based learning and create a positive and supportive classroom environment.

    Assistant Teacher
    Alliyah, a graduate of Thea Bowman Leadership Academy, is currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Ivy Tech. Since joining Goddard in 2022, she has been passionate about incorporating hands-on activities into her teaching. Alliyah aims to instill patience and calming techniques in her students as they navigate social-emotional learning and classroom relationships.

    Assistant Teacher
    Devon believes a classroom should always feel warm and welcoming. She values their individuality and is focused on providing the best classroom environment for each child. Devon is currently in the process of completing her CDA.

    Assistant Teacher
    Ms. Maria has been teaching in Early Childhood Education for over seven years. She has also worked as a nanny and a hair stylist. She believes that children learn best by having hands on experiences. Maria feels that having a clean and loving environment helps children learn and grow! Her goal is to help children enjoy school and to build relationships with families.

    Assistant Teacher
    Morgan is currently studying Elementary Education at Butler University. She believes that authentic, hands-on experiences are the most beneficial to learning. Her philosophy on early education emphasizes the power of play as a valuable tool for both students and educators. Morgan believes that all children have the ability to reach full success and exceed expectations when provided with the resources they need. Her goal is to create an environment where children feel safe, curious, and loved.

    Assistant Teacher
    Noah graduated with a BA in English and a minor in Spanish from Indiana University. In addition to his work with Goddard, Noah is a writer and soccer coach.
