Our school The Goddard School is a premier preschool that offers premium preparation for the social, physical and academic success of children 6 weeks to 6 years. Our renowned curriculum and philosophy is inspired by Piaget and Erikson and focuses on play based learning. We want to attract and retain the best educators by providing them a supportive, collaborative culture and the tools they need to be successful in their respective roles. Responsibilities: • Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum • Advancing physical and intellectual competence by adapting program activities to meet the individual needs of the children • Communicating appropriately and professionally with both parents and fellow staff members • Providing positive guidance by supporting social and emotional development • Establishing positive and productive relationships with families • Ensuring a well-run program by developing lesson plans and building teamwork • Understanding and implementing Goddard’s Health & Safety procedures • Arriving each day with a positive outlook and a great sense of humor Requirements: • Must have a high school diploma, (18+ credit hours in ECE, or a related field, from an accredited university preferred) • Must possess a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and continued education • Must be able to work between the hours of 6:30AM – 6:00PM • Strong written and verbal communication skills General Qualifications: Meet the state qualifications and those set forth in the national hiring standards including- • Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid • Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses • Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances • Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds • Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without corrective devices; this includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies • Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved • Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations The Goddard School is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Our school: The Goddard School is a premier preschool that offers the best preparation for social, physical and academic success for children 6 weeks to 6 years. Our renowned curriculum and philosophy is inspired by Piaget and Erikson and focuses on play based learning. We want to attract and retain the best educators by providing them a supportive & collaborative culture and the tools they need to be successful in their respective roles. Responsibilities: A Goddard School Resource Teacher will be expected to assist multiple classroom teachers. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to • Helping during student check-ins and checkouts, • Escorting children to and from their respective classrooms, • Subbing during teacher breaks/lunches, • Preparing and serving students morning and afternoon snacks, • Serving parent-supplied lunches, • Accomplish various school/classroom tasks throughout the school day, • Help to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. • Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance • Understand and adhere to the GSI Behavior Policy • Encourage empathetic and respectful feelings for others, as well as the environment, through positive modeling • Respect cultural and ethnic diversity • Maintain professional commitment • Promote “learning through play” philosophy and educational objectives • Support a code of ethical conduct • Pursue professional development/continuing education • Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities Successful Resource Teachers are often promoted to Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers which, in turn, results in significant wage increases. Qualifications: A Resource Teacher must meet the qualifications of his or her state and the following qualifications: • The ability to understand and support the education program using “learning through play” philosophy • The ability to interact closely with children at their level • The ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all time • The ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary) • The ability to understand and comply with the franchisee’s employment policies • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents • The ability and willingness to assist administrators and teachers in multiple classrooms • The ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies • The ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare. An offer of employment may be made contingent on the following: • A current physical examination by a physician, including a current tuberculin test or chest x-ray;] • An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations. We prefer that candidates who wish to be considered for the position of resource teacher meet at least one of the following criteria. In addition, all candidates must meet any/all requirements that may be mandated by their state and/or local licensing authorities: • A high diploma and at least 18 years of age • A private academic teaching certificate for nursery school through kindergarten or early childhood education • Proof of the teacher's current enrollment in a CDA credentialing program • Proof of the teacher's current enrollment in an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education or a related field.
