    Bill and Melanie

    School Owner
    Bill and Melanie Hyatt are the owners of The Goddard School of Greenville, SC. Bill and Melanie have three wonderful children named Miller, Alexander, and Parker. Melanie is from Hilton Head Island, SC. She attended The University of South Carolina where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Management and Master of Arts in Teaching Degree in Marketing and Education. She also earned a Certificate in Learning Disabilities from The College of Charleston. Melanie has many years of experience teaching students at different levels (preschool, elementary, high school, and college). Melanie combines her love of giving back to others with her experience of high standards in education. Bill is from Greenville, SC. Bill receive his Retail Management Degree from The University of South Carolina. Bill has over 25 years experience in retail and business operations. Bill and Melanie look forward to offering a safe and nurturing environment where the children are having fun while learning.

    Ms. Tina is originally from England and moved to South Carolina with her family in 2002. Ms. Tina has worked at The Goddard School since 2006 and earned her Associate Degree from Greenville Technical College in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Tina has worked with young children for over 15 years. Ms. Tina taught many age groups before joining our management team as the Director of Education. During her time as our Director of Education, Ms. Tina has been instrumental in acquiring our Partnership for 21st Century Skills accreditation. She also led the way in launching our STEAM programming through a project-based learning approach at our school. Ms. Tina is passionate about helping families and children become part of our school family, then getting to see the children learn at grow during each stage of their development.

    Regional Director
    Ms. Kim Groves is originally from North Carolina and moved to Greenville with her family in 2003. Ms. Kim joined our management team in 2007 when we expanded our facility. Ms. Kim attended Western Carolina University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, with a focus in Child Psychology. Ms. Kim's previous experience includes teacher at a local preschool for five years, Director of a preschool program and Director of the Extended Day Program at Bell's Crossing Elementary in Greenville County. Ms. Kim is currently our Goddard School Director. She does a great job of maintaining an active system of parent-school communication to promote a strong relationship between the two and planning and implementing a program for teachers' professional growth. Ms. Kim also mentors other Goddard Directors around the country and has become an amazing resource for many other schools within our Franchise. Ms. Kim was recognized for amazing talents, dedication, and hard work

    Director of Operations
    Ms. Stephanie has over 17 years of child care leadership experience. She will join our Executive Director, Tina, and Curriculum Coordinator, Taylor as part of the leadership team. Stephanie has 2 children of her own, a son Jordan and a daughter Jayden. She is dedicated to implementing and maintaining the safety and security of children on a daily basis.

    Ms. Taylor was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. Ms. Taylor graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with young children for over 9 years and has experience with all ages. Ms. Taylor is very creative. She loves making up games and songs with children, because it opens up new learning opportunities. Ms. Taylor especially enjoys incorporating science in her lessons so she sees the excitement in the children's eyes throughout the day.

    Ms. Hannah is originally from Syracuse, NY. She attended Onondaga Community College taking courses in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Hannah has been working with young children for over 6 years, ranging from birth to 6th grade. Ms. Hannah is passionate about watching children grow and learn through each new learning experience.

    Ms. Annie was born in Ingolstadt, Germany. After marrying and having two children, Ms. Annie moved to the United States in 1997 and began working in the field of early childhood education. Ms. Annie started working at The Goddard School when we opened in 2006. She has obtained her Certificate in Early Childhood Development. Ms. Annie is fluent in German and English and does a wonderful job of helping German students and families feel welcome by translating when needed. Ms. Annie currently works in the Infant classroom. She is passionate about art, music and literature being incorporated in her lessons throughout the day.

    Jr Preschool Teacher
    Ms. Jennifer is originally from New York. She moved to the Greenville area with her family when she was in middle school. Ms. Jennifer graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate Degree in Human Services. She has worked with young children of all ages for 15 years. Ms. Jennifer is passionate about making sure that children are always having fun while learning. She loves to include songs in the classroom that get the children up and moving and incorporating in physical fitness. Ms. Jennifer also enjoys incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) lessons throughout the day.

    Ms. Alicia is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She moved to the Greenville area, so she could be closer to her family. Ms. Alicia is currently working on her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education through Grand Canyon University. She previously received her Associate Degree in Occupational Studies. Ms. Alicia has been working with children of all ages for over 6 years, and she also has 3 girls of her own. Ms. Alicia is passionate about helping form young minds and seeing the wonder of learning through the eyes of young children. She loves to engage her children through songs and literature in the classroom.

    Jr. Kindergarten Teacher
    Ms. Katelyn is originally from Orange County, New York. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Studies at Suny Oneonta University. While living in New York, she started working in the public school system. Ms. Katelyn later moved to South Carolina to be closer to her family. She has over 5 years of experience working with children. Ms. Katelyn loves implementing literature lessons throughout the day. She also works really hard to give her students the tools, so they can be successful in all areas.

    Ms. Ashley is originally from Queens, New York but moved to the Greenville area from Georgia recently to be closer to family. She attended Nassau Community College where she obtained her associates degree in Liberal Arts. Ms. Ashley has been working with children ranging from newborn to preteens for over 10 years. She is passionate about the engagement of impressionable minds; she believes early childhood impression is so important because teaching children starting at a young age form them into who they will be for their lifetime. Ms. Ashley’s favorite children’s authors are Shel Silverstein and Melissa Boyd because they both tell their stories in such elaborate ways.

    Ms. Emilee is originally from Hendersonville North Carolina. She moved to Greenville with her family in High School where she attended Mauldin High. Ms. Emilee has been working with children for 17 years and has experience with all ages but has the most experience with those under 3. She is passionate about encouraging children and watching them grow, seeing them accomplish their goals is something she loves. Ms. Emilee loves “Thanks a Lot” by Raffi and she also speaks Spanish as well as American Sign Language.

    Ms. Jessica is originally from Myrtle Beach and moved to Greenville with her husband for new opportunities. She attended Winthrop University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences with a concentration in early intervention. Ms. Jessica has worked with children of all ages for over 14 years but has the most experience with children birth through 3 years old. She is passionate about her students meeting developmental milestones and helping them achieve each of them as this sets each child up for a successful future. Ms. Jessica loves nursery rhymes that have hand motions because this allows children to age to work with action rhymes which aids in developmental milestones.

    Ms. Madison is originally from Connecticut. She attended Wilcox Technical High School where she earned her cosmetology license. Ms. Madison has been working with infants through preschoolers for over 4 years. She is passionate about watching her students learn the things they are teaching about and seeing students grow into their own personalities. Ms. Madison’s favorite children’s author is Dr. Seuss because as a child she had every book and would love to read them. Ms. Madison loves building a kind and nurturing environment where her students can grow and learn.

    Ms. Makala is from Greenville, SC. She attended Greenville Technical College to receive her associates in early childhood education and is currently attending Anderson University to obtain her bachelors in elementary and early childhood education. Ms. Makala has been working with children from infancy through 5th grade for the past 4 years. She is passionate about helping children learn and grow, and her favorite thing is seeing them light up when they learn something new. Ms. Makala’s favorite children’s artist is Jack Hartman because of how engaged kids are and how helpful his videos are on a vast number of topics.

    Ms. Daylyn is originally from Weaverville, North Carolina but she moved to Greenville when she began college. She attended North Greenville University where she earned her Bachelor’s in business. Ms. Daylyn has experience with all ages since she was young and has taught with children from 5th through 9th grade. She has always had a passion for working with students, she believes every student should know what they are leaning and why they are learning it. Ms. Daylyn loves empowering her students as it makes a lasting impression on them throughout their lives. Her favorite children’s author is Dr. Seuss because it helps children develop their language skills and even lay the foundation for learning to read.

    Ms. Markasha is originally from Buffalo, New York and moved to the Greenville area to live closer to her parents. She attended Greenville Technical College to obtain her associates in criminal justice and is currently attending University of South Carolina Upstate. Ms. Markasha has experience with children from birth through school age. She is passionate about communication and trust; she wants her families to know they can trust her with their children. Ms. Markasha’s favorite children’s author is Barbra Park, specifically her Junie B Jones series. Ms. Markasha does know American Sign Language and cannot wait to sharpen her knowledge while teaching it to her students.

    Ms. Kellie is originally from Spartanburg and moved to the Greenville area after getting married. She attended Winthrop University where she earned her Bachelor of social work. She has been working with children ranging from birth to 5 years old for over 6 years and was most recently an early interventionist. Ms. Kellie is passionate about watching her students learn something new and gaining confidence. Her favorite children’s author is Eric Carle because his stories are easy for students to follow at a young age while engaging them in not only the repetitiveness but also the colorful illustrations.

    Ms. Lynn is originally from Atlanta, Ga. Her husband’s work brought them to the Greenville area. She attended Bob Jones University, where she earned her bachelors in Elementary Education. Ms. Lynn has been working with children for over 30 years. She loves teaching and bringing new experiences to children through good books and connecting with nature. Ms. Lynn’s favorite author is Jan Brett, whose stories provide opportunities for many fun and enriching activities. Ms. Lynn’s goal is to make learning fun and hopes that it helps each of her students become lifelong learners.

    Ms. Natalie is originally from Naples, Florida but moved to the Greenville area to be closer to her family. She attended Florida Southwestern State College with her Bachelor’s in supervision and management. Ms. Natalie has been working with children for over 5 years teaching children ranging in age from toddlers through 1st grade. She is passionate about providing a calm and fun learning environment, so her students have a safe space to learn and grow every day. Ms. Natalie’s favorite children’s artist is Jack Hartman, she loves including his upbeat and fun educational songs to her lessons.

    Ms. Sierra is originally from Lexington, SC and moved to the Greenville area for her husband’s job. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the College of Charleston. Ms. Sierra has worked with children from preschool through 1st grade for over 9 years. She is passionate about watching children grow and develop their interests, she says it’s one the most rewarding jobs! Ms. Sierra’s favorite book series is The Magic School Bus series by Joanna Cole.

    Ms. Jessie is originally from New York. She moved to Simpsonville, South Carolina in 2015 with her family. Ms. Jessie attended Converse College where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies. She also studied Spanish for 8 years. Ms. Jessie has over 3 years of experience working with children ranging from 3 – 11 years of age. Ms. Jessie is passionate about making sure that each individual child’s needs are met through engaging, educational activities. Ms. Jessie loves to sing, and her favorite song is “Tooty Ta” by Jack Hartman. She also enjoys giving students different opportunities to create their own art.

    Ms. Hannah was born in Greenville, SC. She went to Goldsmiths University of London where she earned a dual degree in economics and public policy. Ms. Hannah has a little over 2 years of experience working with children of many grade levels but has spent the most time with 5th graders and K4 students. Her focus in the classroom is building relationships, she strives to ensure that every child feels they are welcomed.

    Ms. Gianna is originally from California and moved to the Greenville area when she was young. She attended Mauldin High School and has been working with 1st though 5th graders for about 5 years. Ms. Gianna is passionate about kindness in the classroom and keeping the peace between everyone. Ms. Gianna loves Kidz Bop because it allows her to share the music she loves with her students.

    Ms. Alexa is originally from Hickory, North Carolina and moved to Greenville because of wanting to live somewhere larger than her hometown but still close to home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Carolina University. Ms. Alexa has been working with children for most of her life teaching children birth through two and was even an early interventionist for children birth through 6 years old. Ms. Alexa loves incorporating art into her classroom as she believes that art can teach many skills and aid in different areas of development. Ms. Alexa’s favorite children’s author is Dr. Seuss because those are the books she grew up with and has loved sharing them with her son as well as her class.

    Ms. Dorisa is originally from Jacksonville, FL She decided to move to Greenville after working here a few years ago and falling in love with the people and city. She attended Florida State College before taking a career opportunity to travel the Southeast. Ms. Dorisa has been working with infants and toddlers for just about 2 years. She is passionate about the love of children, the process of learning, and how a teacher can impact a child’s life in all aspects. Ms. Dorisa loved baby shark when it came out and still loves seeing how the kids light up when they hear it. She also loves the clean up song because it not only gives instruction but also acts as a transitional closure for a task or activity to end.

    Ms. Abigail is originally from Boiling Springs and moved to the Greenville area because of her fiancé’s job. She attended University of South Carolina Upstate where she earned her Bachelor’s in Spanish with a minor in translation and interpretation. Ms. Abigail has over 2 years of experience working with children ranging from 6 weeks to 4 years old. She loves to know she has made a positive impact in the development and learning of her students. Ms. Abigail’s favorite children’s author is Mercer Mayer, specifically his “Little Critter” books because she grew up with those stories.

    Ms. Brenna is originally from Minnesota and moved to the Greenville area for college. She attended Bob Jones University where she earned her Associates degree in childcare and development. Ms. Brenna did a 4 month internship working with preschoolers while attending Bob Jones where she grew her passion for building strong relationships with her students. These strong relationships help her make a positive impact on students as they develop and grow. Ms. Brenna’s favorite children’s author is Eric Carle because she really likes how his illustrations are always so bright and writing style.

    Ms. Mariana is originally from South Florida and moved to the Greenville area with her family. She is attending Greenville Technical College where she is working towards her Associates in art. Ms. Mariana has been working with children ranging from 3 months to 12 years of age for over 3 years. She is passionate about making a difference in her students’ lives. Learning from them and seeing how they think, this helps her connect what they are learning to their lives. Ms. Mariana is fluent in English as well as Spanish.

    Ms. Elaina is from right here in Greenville. She attended both Bob Jones University and Charleston Southern University before ultimately earning her degree in liberal arts from Bob Jones University. Ms. Elaina has been working with children for nearly 10 years. She is passionate about social-emotional learning. She loves baby shark because of how popular it is with her students. Ms. Elaina believes it is critical to come alongside children emotionally as well as academically and to provide them with critical life skills.

    Ms. Maria is originally from Guatemala and moved to Greenville in 2003 for better education and job opportunities. She earned her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education with a Certificate in Special Education from Greenville Technical College. Ms. Maria has been working with children ranging in age from 18 months to three years old for over a decade. She is passionate about witnessing the wonder in everyday learning, and knowing what she is doing in the classroom does make a big impact on a child’s life. Ms. Maria’s favorite children’s authors are Eric Carle and Dr. Suess because of their fun and colorful stories. Ms. Maria is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to introducing it to her students.

    Ms. Maria is originally from Chile she moved to the Greenville area after teaching in Nebraska because of a work contract. She attended Pontifical Catholic University in Chile where she studied elementary education. Ms. Maria has been working with children of all ages for over 41 years. Her passion is teaching, seeing her students grown and overcome barriers brings her an immense about of joy. Ms. Maria’s favorite children’s author is Dr Seuss because her children grew up reading all his books and even learned to read with them. Ms. Maria knows a little Japanese from living in Japan for 5 years but is fluent in Spanish and English.

    Ms. Kayla is originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina but moved to the Greenville area for better job opportunities. She attended Travelers Rest High School and is currently studying business administration and accounting at Strayer University. Ms. Kayla has been working with children for over a decade. She is passionate about making a difference in young lives; helping students learn and teaching them something new every day. Ms. Kayla’s favorite children’s author is Eric Carle, specifically The Very Hungry Caterpillar because of the vibrant illustrations.

    Ms. Destinie is originally from Long Island but moved to Greenville with her family when she was young where she attended Mauldin High School. She has been working with children since she was a teenager, both as a babysitter and older sibling. Ms. Destinie is passionate about making sure students are happy and healthy. She enjoys creating an environment where students can have fun while also learning because these types of experiences will make a positive impact on a child’s viewpoint of learning. Ms. Destinie has loved all children’s songs since she was a child and enjoys how timeless they are as students still love them today.

    Ms. Elisabeth is from Pickens, South Carolina. She attended Bob Jones University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in educational studies. Ms. Elisabeth has over 14 years of experience working with children ranging in age from birth through 8 years old. She is passionate about her students, watching them learn and grow alongside each other reaching milestones. Ms. Elisabeth’s favorite children’s books are the Angelina Ballerina books as they were her favorite growing up, she says they made her feel like she was in a fairytale.
