    Co-owner
    Ms. Sally Monbarren retired from Akron Children's Hospital. She attended Kent State University. She is the onsite co-owner of the Goddard School in Waxhaw which opened in November of 2011.

    On-site Owner
    Dr. Susan Monbarren has been the owner of the Goddard School in Ballantyne since the facility opened in October 2005. She is excited to be the onsite co-owner of the Waxhaw School. She earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor's degree in Communication.

    Executive Director
    Ms. Cherie is originally from New York where she earned her degree in Early Childhood. She has worked in the field of Early Childhood for 25 years, 11 years as a teacher and 14 years as an Administrator (6 of which were at The Goddard School in Ballantyne). Cherie loves being part of such a quality program and is even more pleased to have her daughter in such a wonderful learning environment!

    Curriculum Coordinator
    Ms. Jessica, a co-lead teacher in our Pre-K 1 classroom, received her BS in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. Raised in Baltimore, she enjoys spending time in the mountains of North Carolina. Her favorite children's books are "Rainbow Fish" and "We Are All Alike...We Are All Different". Ms. Jessica believes that education is the most powerful weapon for changing the world (Nelson Mandela) and she loves watching the "lightbulb moments" with her students as they grasp new concepts.

    Ms. Aritha is a co-teacher in our Pre-K 2 program. She is a native of Florida but has been in the Charlotte area since February of 2017. She has her AAS in Early Childhood Education and has over 10 years experience in the field. She enjoys watching children grow and flourish. Her favorite children's books are No David!, The Kissing Hand, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom. In her spare time, she enjoys singing.

    Co-Lead Teacher
    Ms. Evelyn has earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and is a Charlotte native. She is a co-lead teacher in the Get Set classroom. She enjoys shopping, going to the movies and getting her nails done. Evelyn’s favorite children’s book is Where The Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein and believes in the ‘Golden Rule’ of treating others the way you would like to be treated. She says she loves watching the infants reach their developmental milestones and how they find joy in the simple things. We are so thrilled to have her as a caregiver for our Toddlers!

    Ms. Julie, one of our co-lead teachers in First Steps, has been working with infants and toddlers since 1995 and has her NC Early Childhood credential. Watching children grow and learn is what makes her passionate about Early Childhood education. Julie was raised in Mint Hill, NC and has two teenagers. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and crafting. Her favorite children's author is Eric Carle. Ms. Julie believes whatever you can do or dream you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now!

    Infant Co-Lead Teacher
    Ms. Mary Beth is our beloved Infant teacher. She is certified by the state of North Carolina as a Lead Teacher and has worked with infants since 2005. In her spare time, Mary Beth enjoys going to the beach and watching NASCAR. Her favorite children's book is The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Her favorite saying is "Your failure to plan is not my emergency." Her favorite part about teaching the babies is watching them learn and the new things they do each day. She loves watching their progress and feels honored to be part of their lives. Mary Beth joined the Goddard family in 2011. She is very excited to be part of our team and to meet your family.

    Ms. Taylor is a co-lead teacher in the Toddler classroom. She comes to us from Chesterfield, SC and has her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and going to the movies. Taylor loves watching children reach developmental milestones and seeing them grow into their own unique personality. Her favorite saying is, “Treat others as you want to be treated and with the same respect you want to be given.”

    Educational Support
    Ms. Audri is part of our Resource/Educational Support team. She grew up in Indian Land SC and currently resides in Rock Hill. Her favorite saying is "Treat others how you want to be treated" and her favorite children's book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Audri enjoys learning how different and unique each and every child is and she has future plans to go back to school in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

    Kitchen Resource
    Ms. Erika is our center nutritionist and she also does lunch breaks in the Infant classroom. She loves how the children's faces light up when she brings the food cart with their snacks and lunches. Her favorite children's book is "Goodnight Moon" and she believes "you should treat others the way you want to be treated". She was raised in Blue Springs, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoys interior design and watching her children at their various sporting events.
