    On-site Owner
    Dr. Susan Monbarren has been the owner of the Goddard School in Ballantyne since the facility opened in October 2005. She is excited to be the onsite co-owner of the Waxhaw School. She earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor's degree in Communication.

    Executive Director
    Ms. Cherie is the Executive Director and originally from New York where she earned her degree in Early Childhood. She has worked in the field of Early Childhood for 36 years, 11 years as a teacher and 26 years as an Administrator (6 of which were at The Goddard School in Ballantyne and 13 at The Goddard School in Waxhaw). Cherie loves being part of such a high- quality program and was even more pleased to have had her daughter start her education here when she was younger.

    Assistant Director
    Ms. Anna is an Assistant Director here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Elementary Education has been working in the field for over 20 years. Anna has lived in North Carolina for 21 years and has been a part of the Goddard Family since 2022! The teaching philosophy she leads by is a child-centered approach, in which the child makes decisions based on their interests and teachers facilitate learning through open ended questions.     Ms. Robin is an Assistant Director here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Public Health and has been working with children since 2021. Robin has lived in North Carolina her entire life and has been a part of the Goddard Family since 2024! The teaching philosophy she leads by is that teachers should be an intentional person in the lives of their students. Comfortable, safe children are set up for success when asked to learn new things.     Assistant Director
    Ms. Suzanne is an Assistant Director here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw. She has degrees in both Psychology and Special Education! Suzanne has lived in North Carolina for 30 years. She was Director of the Ballantyne location from 2010 to 2014 and recently rejoined the Goddard Family here in 2024! The teaching philosophy Suzanne leads by is that teachers should first form a relationship with their children, so that they can be challenged in an environment where they feel loved and cared for.     Ms. Jessica is the Curriculum Coordinator here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working in Early Childhood since 1992! Jessica has lived in Waxhaw for 22 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2015. She decided to go into the field of Early Childhood Education to watch the “light bulb” moments in her students as they grasp new concepts!     Ms. Marybeth is Co-Lead Teacher in the Infant classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is a Certified Lead Teacher in North Carolina and has been working in Early Childhood since 2005. Marybeth has lived in Waxhaw for 13 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2011! The teaching philosophy she leads by is that all children are unique and deserve to learn at their own pace in an environment that is safe, nurturing and considerate of their developmental needs.     Ms. Isabelle is a Co-Lead Teacher in the Infant classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is trained in Montessori Education and has been working in Early Childhood since 2011. She has lived in Waxhaw for 3 years and have been a part of the Goddard family since 2022! The teaching philosophy Isabelle leads by is that children learn through play and should be provided opportunities to learn around their individual interests! A favorite quote of hers is “Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water,” by Maria Montessori.

    Ms. Aleighya is Co-Lead Teacher in the First Steps room here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Health and Human Services and is NC Lead Teacher Certified. Aleighya has been teaching since 2016 and joined the Goddard Family in 2024! The educational philosophy that she leads by is that all children are capable of learning in a loving environment. There is no such thing as a perfect teacher and there is always something new and exciting to learn!

    Ms. Audri is an Educational Support Teacher in the First Steps classroom as well as Kitchen Manager here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has lived in South Carolina her whole life and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2016! The teaching philosophy that Audri leads by is that all children are unique and learn best through free play and exploration.     Ms. Viktoriia is Co-Lead Teacher in the Young Toddler classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Psychology and has been working in Early Childhood since 2017. Viktoriia has lived in North Carolina since 2023 and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2024! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that children learn best through problem presentation, where the teacher formulates a problem and demonstrates to the children the steps needed to solve it. She also feels that when children search for a solution to a problem independently, it aids in their understanding of the situation.     Ms. Sonya is Co-Lead Teacher in the Young Toddler classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Early Childhood and has been working in Early Childhood since 2005. Sonya has lived in North Carolina for 24 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2023! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that children learn best through play and discovery. She believes that children thrive when they are in an environment that is interactive and promotes positive relationships between the child and educator!     Ms. Martina is Co-Lead Teacher in the Toddler classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a certificate as a Social Security Insurance Specialist and has been working in Early Childhood since 2002. Martina was recently certified as a Lead Teacher in North Carolina and has lived in NC since 2018. She has been a part of the Goddard family since 2024! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that all children should learn in a valued and friendly environment. A favorite quote of hers is “I have not failed.     Ms. Maria is Co-Lead Teacher in the Toddler classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is NC Lead Teacher Certified and has been working in Early Childhood since 2021. Maria is a long-time resident of North Carolina and joined the Goddard Family in 2024! The education philosophy that she leads by is that children thrive the most when given clear instructions and boundaries as well as trust and independence. We are never too old to learn, even from the little ones. A favorite quote of hers is "A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit," from a Greek Proverb.

    Ms. Courtney is an Educational Support Teacher in the Toddler room here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a certificate in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Infant/Toddler care and has been working in Early Childhood since 2004! Courtney has lived in North Carolina for over 30 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2022! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that all children can and will learn if they are provided the proper resources and opportunities! A favorite quote of hers is “Never stop learning.     Ms. Taylor is Co-Lead Teacher in the Get Set classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a degree in Clinical Psychology. Taylor has been working in Early Childhood since 2018, has lived in Waxhaw for 5 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2018 as well! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that children must be taught how to think, not what to think.     Get Set Teacher
    Ms. Tiffany is a teacher in the Get Set classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is currently pursuing her North Carolina Lead Teacher Certification. Tiffany moved to the area in 2021 and joined the Goddard Family in 2024! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that a safe and nurturing environment will foster confidence, trust, and creativity.

    Ms. Abby is Co-Lead Teacher in the Preschool 1 classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is currently pursuing my North Carolina Lead Teacher Certification. Abby has been caring for young children since 2017, has lived in Waxhaw since 2011 and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2023! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that children learn best through interactive, hands-on learning and by providing these types of activities in the classroom, children can explore and grow as individuals!     Ms. Taylor is Co-Lead Teacher in the Preschool 1 classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in General Arts and is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Taylor has been working in Early Childhood since 2018, lived in North Carolina for 17 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2020! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that all children should be challenged and taught in a way that is best suited for them and their individual needs. She has a degree in Accounting and Commerce and is certified in International Montessori Education. Krupa has been working in Early Childhood since 1999, has lived in Waxhaw since 2021 and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2022! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is that all children deserve a learning environment that helps them grow to their fullest potential.     Ms. Maddie is Co-Lead Teacher in the Preschool 2 classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in English and has been teaching since 2005. She's been a part of the Goddard Family since 2024! The teaching philosophy Maddie leads by is that teachers have a responsibility to create future citizens. She strives to make her classroom a supportive environment where every child can voice their opinion and listen to others.     Ms. Shelly is Co-Lead Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten 1 classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a Pediatric Medical Assistance Certification and has been working in Early Childhood since 2015! Shelly has lived in Waxhaw for 3 years and has been a part of the Goddard family since 2021! The teaching philosophy that she leads by is to get to know each child on an individual level so that she can respond and teach with an approach that works best for them.     Ms. Alexis is Co-Lead Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten 1 Classroom here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She has a degree in Human Services Studies and began teaching in 2017. Alexis is a long-time resident of the area and joined the Goddard Family in 2025! The teaching philosophy she leads by is to first understand the why behind behavior. This helps inform teaching through play and redirection practices!

    Ms. Morgan is a Summer Intern in the Pre-Kindergarten 1 class here at The Goddard School of Waxhaw! She is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with hopes to become a Kindergarten teacher. She began teaching when she joined the Goddard Family in 2025! The teaching philosophy Morgan leads by is that teachers should adapt to new teaching methods based on their students' needs and that children should always be treated with patience and kindness.

She moved to the Waxhaw area in 2016 and joined the Goddard Family in 2024! The educational philosophy Bhavana leads by is that every child is gifted with so much potential. It is a teacher's responsibility to use patience and positive reinforcement to enhance their curiosity and creativity!

She has a degree in Business Administration and has been working in Early Childhood since 2021. Madhuri moved to the area and joined the Goddard Family in 2024! The educational philosophy that she leads by is that every child has the potential to succeed in a supportive, respectful, and stimulating learning environment. Her role as an educator is to guide, inspire, and empower her students. A favorite quote of Madhuri's is "The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you."
