Miss Yang

Owner
Yang Shu is the onsite owner of The Goddard School in Lexington, MA. Yang dreamed of opening a preschool for nearly a decade. When their two-year-old daughter, Nicole, was born, she and her husband, Shuo, were even more determined to find a way to fulfill their dream and give back to the community. Before opening the preschool, Yang worked in the United Arab Emirates as an assistant manager for a construction machinery company, and in Kenya for a tour and travel agency. Because of her experiences working in different countries and opening a preschool in a culturally diverse area, Yang said she wants her students to share their cultures with one another and wants to share her worldly experiences through multi-cultural programs at the Goddard School of Lexington.
Miss Jamie

Miss Jamie has been working with children since 1998 and is the Director of Education here at the Goddard school in Lexington! She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Community Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and holds a Masters of Elementary Education as well. Miss. Jamie has also worked at a local school for infants through 8th grade. At that school, she began her passion for early childhood education and has never looked back. Miss. Jamie moved into an administration and leadership role and loves working with teachers and families. Miss. Jamie also loves spending time with her family and her dog. She loves working with children and is thrilled to be part of the Goddard family. She is always excited to share her love of art and science with the children.

Ms. Jenny is Early Education and Care certified to work with all ages. She has been working in childcare since 2011 and has most recently completed her Director 2 Program. She works towards continuing her growth and learning as an educator, as this is an everchanging field. She loves working with young children because it gives her the chance to see their spark of curiosity as they explore their world. As well as working with the children Ms. Jenny also enjoys partnering with parents to work in the best interest of each child. As the Assistant Director, she strives to assist each teacher in the growth and development of their own teaching styles.
Mr Brian

Mr. Brian has been working in childcare since 1999. He is currently a student at Southern New Hampshire University, and is working towards his Bachelor's in Human Services. When he is not teaching Brian loves spending his time volunteering at an animal shelter and collecting comic books. Brian loves helping the children learn and explore through play and bringing nature into the classroom. His favorite children's book is "If you Give a Moose a Muffin."

Hello! My name is Miss. Caroline (or Miss. Carol!). I have been working with preschoolers for 2 years. I graduated from UMass Amherst in 2019 with a degree in English and am hoping to further my education with a Master's in Education! My favorite part about teaching is getting to build a love of learning from such a young age! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and reading!

Chloe has a degree in Graphic Design and looks forward to using her creativity in the classroom. She is also continuing her education in the early childhood field. Hi, my name is Mr. Chris! I started working with children during the Summer of 2019 and have enjoyed taking part in the growth and development of young minds. During my time working with children, I discovered my love for teaching and strive to further my education. My goal is to achieve my teaching certificates as well as work towards my Bachelor's Degree in the Early Childhood Education Field. When I am not working, I like to go shopping and taking long drives!

Miss Elizabeth has been working with children since 2014, primarily as an early childhood educator in museums. She is excited to bring her expertise in hands-on, inquiry-based education into the classroom. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Biopsychology with a minor in Child Development from Tufts University. When Elizabeth is not working, she enjoys reading and singing in a (now virtual) choir. She loves working with children because of their infinite imaginations and insatiable curiosity.

Hello, my name is Miss Jo (Joellen) . I am originally from Southern California but have lived in Massachusetts for the last 15 years. I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 30 years, with experience ranging from infants through school age as well as a center director. I also have an associates degree in liberal studies. I have a huge passion for early education and love to see the joy on the children's faces when discovering something new. When I'm not working I enjoy hiking and photography. I am very excited to be part of the Goddard family

Miss Kaitlyn attended Vermont Technical College studying business and playing soccer. She has been working with children since 2014 with children ranging from 6 weeks- 12 years and will be taking classes to further her knowledge in the education field. Kaitlyn is passionate about building strong relationships with the children and helping them learn and grow to the best of their ability.

Miss Karin is the lead teacher in the infant program. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Keuka College. Karin has been in the field of early childhood education since 1993. When she is not working she loves spending time with her family and going to her beach house in New Jersey. She has worked with children of all ages from the little ones to the big ones. Her passion is creating a warm and nurturing environment where our youngest children can thrive and grow. Her favorite children’s books are “Owl Babies” and “The Big Red Barn.”

My name is Kathleen and I have known since I was a small child I wanted to be a teacher. I had a wonderful teacher who helped me and I wanted to help children the same way she helped me. I want them to feel loved and safe while they are in the school setting. I want them to have fun while they are learning and gain confidence in their own abilities. I am married and have 2 wonderful children. We live in a town near Lexington. One of my children is married and the other one is in college. I have a Bachelor's of Science with a double major in Early Childhood Education and Anthropology From UMASS Boston. Teaching is where my heart is and I love watching the children have that "Ah-Ha" moment when they understand what you are trying to teach them.

Miss. Kayla has been working with children since 2009. She is certified to teach Infant/ Toddlers and Preschool. She attended Fitchburg State and obtained her BA in Elementary Education, she is also going back to school to further her education. She loves working with children and seeing their curiosity blossom. When not working Miss. Kayla loves spending time with family and going to the beach. Her favorite children's book is "Moo, Baa, La La La" and The Poky Little Puppy."

Miss Lori is Early Education and Care certified in infants - Preschool. She has been in the field of education since 1998. When she is not teaching, her hobbies include collecting sea glass on the beach, shopping and spending time with her family. Lori loves teaching because she loves seeing the joy of children's faces when they discover something new. Lori feels children deserve an environment where they can thrive through play, imagination and gentle guidance.

Ms. Margie focuses on building great relationships with both children and families. She also likes creating and exploring with her kids. Miss Michaela has been in the education field since 2013. She graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. When Michaela is not teaching, she loves to sing and cook. She loves helping children explore their world and discover their strengths. Michaela's favorite children's book is "Hey! That's my Monster!."

Miss Nicole has been in the education field since 1994. She is certified by the Department of Early Education and Care. She has worked with Infants, toddlers, and preschool throughout her career. She primarily works in the infant and toddler programs. When Nicole is not working, she loves spending time with her daughter and reading. She is working on finishing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with children because she loves seeing the smiles on children's faces when they learn something new.

She enjoys using her creative side to engage in all different art projects in her class. Nicole loves working with children because every day is a new adventure to help them grow and learn. She also has PharmD from MCPHS University and is a registered pharmacist. When she is not working she can usually be found reading or crafting with her husband and cat.

She is currently attending Bridgewater State University and is majoring in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. Tara is from New York (but not the city) When Miss. Tara is working with children, she loves sharing her passion for arts and reading books. Hi everyone! My name is Miss. Taylor and I have been working with toddlers for 3 years. My favorite thing about teaching toddlers is building their confidence and watching them grow and mature. The other part of teaching that I love is that the children are always teaching me something new and keeping me on my toes! I love watching them reach new milestones and personal goals as they grow in the classroom. In my spare time I enjoy music and dancing as well as cuddling with my cat!

Miss. Autumn has just graduated from the Early Education and Teaching program at Minuteman Vocational High School. Miss. Autumn has interned here at the Goddard school for the last 2 years. When Miss. Autumn graduates in June she will be attending Post University and achieve her Associate's degree in Early Childhood. When she is not teaching, Autumn enjoys singing, coloring, and listening to music.

Miss Tara recently graduated from Fitchburg State College where she obtained her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with young children of varying abilities since 2016. Miss Tara is planning to continue her education to obtain a certificate in Early Intervention and has a goal of becoming a Developmental Specialist. She loves working with young children and getting the opportunity to watch them grow and develop.
