    Owner
    Yang Shu is the onsite owner of The Goddard School in Lexington, MA. Yang dreamed of opening a preschool for nearly a decade. When their two-year-old daughter, Nicole, was born, she and her husband, Shuo, were even more determined to find a way to fulfill their dream and give back to the community. Before opening the preschool, Yang worked in the United Arab Emirates as an assistant manager for a construction machinery company, and in Kenya for a tour and travel agency. Because of her experiences working in different countries and opening a preschool in a culturally diverse area, Yang said she wants her students to share their cultures with one another and wants to share her worldly experiences through multi-cultural programs at the Goddard School of Lexington.

    Director
    Miss Jenny joined The Goddard School in March of 2019. She holds her certification in Infant, Toddlers, Preschool and is Director qualified. She has been working in childcare since 2011 and is the Director here at the Goddard School. With her degree in Early Childhood Education, she works towards continuing her growth and learning as an educator, as this is an ever-changing field. She loves working with young children because it gives her the chance to see their spark of curiosity as they explore the world. Jenny also enjoys partnering with parents to work in the best interest of each child. As the Director, she strives to assist each teacher in the growth and development of their own teaching styles.

    Assistant Director
    Miss Caitlyn joined The Goddard School in 2024. She has been working in the field since 2006 and holds her degree in Early Childhood Education. With her years of experience with children and families, she hold her certifications in Infants through PreK and carries her Director Qualifications. She loves to foster the children’s love for learning and watching them grow through the stages of development. When she is not working, she loves to travel and spend time with her family! Miss. Caitlyn looks forward to continuing to create strong loving relationships with all of the children, families, and staff as she continues her journey with our school.

    Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Infant Teacher
    Miss Bridget joined The Goddard School in August of 2023. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. Bridget is part of the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star teaching team. She has taught and guided children ages Infants through Preschool since 2018. She graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science and a minor in Psychology and Health Care Administration. Bridget loves being a part of building confidence and security in the development of children. She helps to create a warm and loving learning environment for each child to grow and thrive.

    Miss Karin joined The Goddard School when it opened in September of 2018 as the lead teacher in the Infant program. She holds a lead teacher certificate in Infants, Toddlers, Preschool as well as Director certificate. She has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Keuka College. Karin has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1993. When she is not working she loves spending time with her family and going to her beach house in New Jersey. She has worked with children of all ages from the little ones to the big ones. Her passion is creating a warm and nurturing environment where our youngest children can thrive and grow. Her favorite children’s books are “Owl Babies” and “The Big Red Barn.”

    Harold and the Purple Crayon Toddler Teacher
    Miss Mallika Joined the Goddard School in July of 2022. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. She has joined the teaching team in Harold and the Purple Crayon in January of 2025. She looks forward to helping to implement a well structured curriculum. Her calm and happy demeanor helps make the children and families feel at ease while they are in her care.

    Miss. Mackenzie recently became certified in infants, toddlers, and preschool through Minuteman High Schools early education program! Currently, she is advancing her education at Simmons University, pursuing her Nurse Practitioner License! She enjoys being able to connect with children and create a safe, loving environment where kids feel secure and valued.

    Miss Sarah joined The Goddard Family in October of 2019. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. Sarah is a part of the Harold and the Purple Crayon Toddler teaching team. Sarah has an Associates Degree in Early Education and a Bachelors Degree of Science in Education. Her hobbies are listening to music and reading.

    Miss Ailani joined The Goddard School in October of 2023. She holds her certificate in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. She has a warm and tender way with our littlest children as well as a gentle way with our older children.

    Miss. Juana joined The Goddard School in July of 2023. She holds her certificate in Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. Juana supports the developmental growth of the children in her care through a well-rounded curriculum, and supports their growth through her kind and caring engagements. As Juana works on furthering her education in this field, she will continue to create a warm and welcoming environment for her children to grow and thrive in.

    Miss Courtney joined The Goddard School as an intern through the Minuteman Vocational Co-op Program in December 2021. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. Courtney is a nature and science lover, and likes to travel. She has a gentle way with children of all ages which lends itself to help children feel confident in a learning environment.

    Miss Isabelle started with The Goddard School in July 2021! She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. She started as a center support and has found comfort in working as part of the Barnyard Dance preschool teaching team. She helps build and implement a purposeful curriculum for her age group and guides the children through each activity. Isabelle is a fun and caring teacher who enjoys watching the children learn and discover new things every day.

    Miss Nicole joined The Goddard School in August of 2019. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. She enjoys using her creative side to engage in all different art projects in her class. Nicole loves working with children because every day is a new adventure to help them grow and learn. She also has PharmD from MCPHS University and is a registered pharmacist. When she is not working she can usually be found reading, crafting, attending barre classes, or hanging out with her husband and cat.

    Miss Lexi joined The Goddard School in 2024! With her 8 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, she is certified to work with Infants and Toddlers. She also has experience with Mental Health services and carries her degree in Psychology. Miss. Lexi loves teaching because she enjoys helping children develop emotional awareness, healthy communication, and independence while being playful and having fun together.

    Mr. Henry graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's in European History. Henry enjoys teaching because he is able to encourage children to express themselves and engage in positive ways. His gentle demeanor and positive interactions help the children feel comfortable in their environment and allow them to thrive in their development.

    Miss Shannon joined The Goddard School in December of 2024. She has been caring for children since 2010. Shannon is licensed by the State of Massachusetts Early Education and Care with Infant, Toddler and PreSchool endorsements. She enjoys time with family and friends. Shannon loves teaching because of the reward of seeing the children learn and grow in different ways. She enjoys partnering with parents to work in the best interest of each child.

    Ashley joined The Goddard School in September of 2024. She holds her certification for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool from Early Education and Care. Ashley has taken classes at both Mass Bay Community College and Fisher College where she studied Human Services, Spanish and Early Childhood Education. She has cared for children since 2011 in various settings. Ashley loves teaching because she endjoys building relationships with children. She enjoys partnering with parents to work in the best interest of each child.

    The Kissing Hand PreK Teacher
    Mr. Jacob joined the Goddard School in May of 2022. He holds his certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. Jacob speaks English and knows a little bit of Spanish. When he is not teaching he enjoys video and board games, playing piano, and playing with his cat Neko! Jacob loves teaching because every day he gets to share learning experiences with his students and see how they uniquely approach new situations. He aims to form partnerships with parents to best be able to teach and care for each child.

    Miss. Zinnat graduated from the University of Dhaka with her Masters in Science, Food, and Nutrition. She joined the Goddard School in 2023 as a center support teacher. Zinnat engages with many different age groups and encourages them to happily engage in activities and create positive relationships with peers.

    Miss Shaniely is a certified Infant and Toddler Teacher who has been teacher since 2018. She is currently attending Bridgewater State University and is majoring in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. Ms. Shaniely is fluent in Spanish and loves to share her language with her students. "Todos pueden hacer diferencia!"

    After school helper, Miss Elaina is a high school student most often found in our toddler rooms in the afternoon. She is very involved with the dance program at her school. She chose to work at Goddard to enjoy the energy, laughter, and curiosity of the children!

    Miss Khuteja is a local mom who comes to us with a passion for giving children the best of herself and diving into any job that needs doing! While she can be found throughout our school, we watch her shine with our oldest friends as they focus on reading and writing readiness, and really growing into their more complicated social skills.

    Miss Ella joined The Goddard School in May of 2023. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. She attends Coastal Carolina University and is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and playing board games with family and friends. She enjoys working with children because they never fail to make her smile. That simple joy makes Ella excited to start her own family in the future. Ella has a passion for working with children of all ages and is confident in her growth as a support teacher.

    Miss Rita famously says she works s for us in place of being a grandma in her home life! Several afternoons a week she can be found arriving with an armload of homemade play dough or library books to take to any room that needs her. Rita's favorite things about working at Goddard is being surrounded by lovable kids and inspirational staff!

    Miss Thayna is a high school student who joins us many afternoons, helping mostly in infants in toddlers. She is active in her own school's dance program. Thayna chose to join Goddard because she loves helping the kids to learn and grow!

    The Rainbow Fish Infant Teacher
    Miss Rachel joined the Goddard School in February of 2023. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. She is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelors in History. She is new to the Early Childhood Education field and has quickly molded into a wonderful and kind hearted teacher. She provides support for the teachers as they create an environment that is loving and engaging for all children to learn in.

    Miss Rina attends Minuteman High School and is pursuing a degree in Early Education. Her hobbies include theater, softball, and drawing. She enjoys working with children because of how funny they are! Rina has a passion for getting children involved in art and music.

    Miss Gabby attends Minuteman High School and is pursuing a degree in Early education. Her hobbies include crafting, volunteering, and jewelry making. She enjoys working with children because of their curiosity. She has a passion for supporting every child's development and helping them grow their confidence!

    Miss Katie joined The Goddard School in August of 2024. She graduated from Waltham High School in 2024. Katie is a Certified Nursing Assistant and is currently attends Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthics. She feels children deserve an environment where they can thrive through play, imagination and gentle guidance.

    Liberty attends Minuteman High School and is pursuing a degree in education. She plays for her school's vollyball, basketball AND softball teams! She enjoys working with children because watching them learn and grow is so satisfying. Liberty brings to our team some BIG ENERGY and a passion for creating curriculum and activities in any classroom she helps us in.

    Miss Michaela has been in the education field since 2013 and joined The Goddard School of Lexington in 2018. She graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. When Michaela is not teaching, she loves to sing and cook. She loves helping children explore their world and discover their strengths. Michaela's favorite children's book is "Hey! That's my Monster!."

    Miss Allyson has joined our preschool program after previous classroom experience in a toddler program! Despite her earlier automotive focus during her own schooling, she found her calling in education and we can't imagine her doing anything else!

    Miss Jaime joined the Goddard School in November of 2024. With her many years of experience, she is certified in Infant, Toddlers and Preschool. Jaime has taken her Early Educations classes at Mass Bay Community College. She has been in the field since 2004. Jaime helps children develop emotional awareness, healthy communication and independence while being playful and having fun. She enjoys crafting, cooking, and enjoying time with her family.

Brian is part of Rainbow Fish teaching team. He is currently a student at Southern New Hampshire University, and is working towards his Bachelor's in Human Services. When he is not teaching Brian loves spending his time volunteering at an animal shelter and collecting comic books. Brian loves helping the children learn and explore through play and bringing nature into the classroom. His favorite children's book is "If you Give a Moose a Muffin."

    Miss Emma joined The Goddard School in November of 2021 through the Minuteman Vocational Program. She holds her certification in Infants, Toddlers and Preschool. Emma has worked in all of our classrooms but has an affection for the littlest of our children in the Infant and Toddler classrooms. She has a bright and fun personality that creates a wonderful learning environment for children of all ages!

    Former native of several states, Miss Shawni has taught all over! She stepped in to take over our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom preschool class with enthusiasm and panache. She has a fun and varied past in medical assisting and cosmetology! Shawni brings her knowledge and creativity from these other fields into her classroom every day!

    Sara attended Merrimack College where she earned a dual degree in biology and teacher education, and started with Goddard Lexington in 2025. She has been working with children since 2022 and brings classroom, academic, and care setting experience into her teaching. Sara believes every child deserves an environment where they can thrive, play, and receive gentle guidance.

    After getting her degree in education Miss Summer moved cross country to join us at Goddard! She uncovered a love of young toddlers where you can spend the day watching the children explore the world around them and really watch their personalities develop. The kids in her class remind summer every day to stay curious and enjoy every moment!

    Fisher College attendee Miss Enige is pursuing her degree in early childhood education. Her hobbies include shopping, watching movies, getting her nails done, and traveling! Building relationships with the children brings her so much joy and she can't wait to keep watching them grow and develop!

    Miss Rachel has a psychology degree from Clark University and a history of work in a Montessori based center in Philadelphia. One of her main hobbies is painting, which she tries to incorporate into her classroom as much as possible to share her passion for art with our preschoolers!
