Our Teachers

Hi! I am Corie Shields the onsite operator here at The Goddard School in Virginia Beach at Strawbridge/Red Mill. In the past I have taught Kindergarten and 2nd Grade in public schools and I am a former Goddard School Director. I love getting to know the children, families, and teachers so we can all work closely to create the best environment for learning and growing!

Welcome! I am Michelle, Director of the Goddard School in Virginia Beach at Strawbridge/Red Mill. Since January of 2003, I have had the privilege of working alongside some amazing and creative educators. I love working with the children and their families' aspects because it gives me an opportunity to learn and grow professionally. I am proud of the support I give the teachers, parents, and children at our Goddard and I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Ms. Sharla is our assistant director. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology. Ms. Sharla has been working with children for 15 years and has been with our school since 2019. She was our lead infant teacher from 2020-2023. She likes to spend time with her family, garden, and go to the beach anytime she can.

Ms. Dawn has a Child Development Associate's Degree, and has been working with children for 20 years. She has been with our school since 2021. In her free time Dawn likes to go fishing, read, watch movies, and listen to music. She also enjoys watching sports such as football, baseball, and hockey.

Ms. Megan is our Kindergarten teacher and has been with our school since 2006. She works hard each year to get our Kindergarteners ready for 1st grade! Ms. Megan enjoys spending time with her family in her free time.

Ms. Kara is the lead teacher in our PreK classroom. She has worked with children for over 10 years. She has a bachelor's degree in education.

Ms. Sade is the Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. She is currently working towards her Child Development Associates Degree. She has been with Goddard since May 2023.

Ms. Felisha is the Lead Teacher in our Bridge classroom. She has over 5 years of experience in the early childhood field and she is currently working towards an associate degree in ECE.

Ms. Jessica is the lead teacher in our Twos classroom. She has been with our school since February 2022. Ms. Jessica loves to work with all age groups and has many years of experience working with children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her son.

Ms. Ali is the lead teacher in our Toddler classroom. She has over 4 years of experience as a teacher and she has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She started with our school in the spring of 2024.

Ms. Kyera has been with our school since 2020. She is currently the lead teacher in our Infant 2 classroom. Ms. Kyera is working on her bachelor's degree in education.

Ms. Ila is the lead teacher in our Infant classroom and has been with our school since February 2023. She has worked with children for over 4 years and enjoys working with infants the most. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, read, go to the movies, and go shopping.

Ms. Anastasia is a teacher in the infant 2 Classroom. She has worked with children for over 3 years and has been at our school for since April 2022. She has a degree in Exercise Science, Food Science, and Nutrition. She enjoys using her education to foster the physical development of infants by encouraging them to participate in activities that lead to their developmental milestones. She also enjoys reading Dark Horse and Marvel comics and watching classic science fiction movies in her free time.

Ms. Jasmyn is an assistant teacher in our Infant classroom. She has been with Goddard since August 2023.

Ms. Adreanna has been with our school since February 2023 and is an assistant teacher in our Kindergarten classroom. She enjoys working with preschool and prekindergarten aged children.

Ms. Khari is an assistant teacher in our Toddler classroom. She has been at Goddard since July 2023.

Ms. Lauryssa is an assistant teacher in our Preschool classroom. She is new to teaching and is enjoying learning about education and teaching. She has been with our school since December 2022. In her free time she likes to spend time with her son.

Ms. Amanda is an assistant teacher in our Bridge and Preschool classrooms. She started with our school in the fall of 2023.

Ms. Angela is an assistant teacher in our Bridge classroom. She started with our school in the spring of 2024.
