    Meet Brandon and Kendra! As proud owners of The Goddard School in the Richmond (Regency) area, they understand the importance of a strong educational foundation. With four children of their own who thrived at Goddard from infancy until school age, they have firsthand experience of the nurturing environment and excellent preparation our school offers. Kendra, our dedicated on-site owner, is passionate about creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Her hands-on approach ensures that each child feels valued and inspired. With a strong emphasis on both academic and emotional development, Kendra crafts engaging experiences that spark a lifelong love for learning.

    Meet Molly, our incredible Early Childhood Education expert! With a vibrant career that kicked off after her college graduation in 1999, she has a wealth of experience in Early Intervention and Special Education. Molly holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, which adds an extra layer of expertise to her amazing work! She lives in Glen Allen with her husband of 20 fantastic years and their son Avery, who’s set to graduate this spring—what an exciting milestone! When she’s not inspiring little learners, you can find Molly cheering on Avery at the bowling alley, making family memories that last a lifetime. Molly’s vision is all about creating a warm and welcoming community where children, parents, and faculty come together. She believes in nurturing a love for learning in every child. With her passion and dedication, she’s on a mission to make education not just a process, but a joyous adventure! "

    Meet Diana! She is one of our dedicated Directors who brings over 19 years of service in Early Childhood Education. With a dual Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, she has successfully taught children of all ages and led large teams, demonstrating outstanding leadership skills. Diana wholeheartedly embraces the idea that "children bring her joy." Coming from a large family, she finds fulfillment in creating a supportive environment where every child feels protected and nurtured. She treasures the "ah-ha" moments when children discover something new, striving to foster love, happiness, and joy within our school.

    Meet Connie! With over 30 years of experience as an Early Childhood Center Director, Connie is a seasoned leader in the field of early childhood education. Her dedication to fostering a nurturing and enriching environment for children shines through in every aspect of her work. Connie has proudly served on the ECE Advisory Board for John Tyler Community College, contributing her insights and expertise to the future of education. Her love for Goddard’s values and mission inspires her daily. One of her greatest joys in early childhood education is witnessing children grow and explore new experiences. She loves witnessing seeing the "light bulb" moments when they gain knowledge and understanding, and her main goal is to encourage each child to have fun while learning. In addition to her work with children, Connie is passionate about coaching and training teachers in classroom management and curriculum. She believes that empowering educators is key to creating an effective learning.

    Ms. Isha has been in the Early Childhood Field for over 20 years. She began as an afterschool teacher when she was in high school. She has completed several courses in Early Childhood Education and is currently pursuing her CDA. She absolutely loves all the children in her classroom. When she is not at the School, she is spending time with her son. She is a football mom and enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time with family.

    Meet Sherry Forbes! As a passionate leader at our preschool, Sherry has been dedicated to nurturing the minds and hearts of our children since she joined us in August 2024. With a strong background in education and social work, Sherry brings a wealth of experience and is committed to developing innovative programs that boost community involvement and enhance the educational journey of our young learners. Sherry believes that every child deserves a supportive environment where they can explore, grow, and thrive. Her advocacy for children, educators, and families has fostered trusting relationships within our community, creating a safe and enriching space for learning. Sherry holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently pursuing her MBA in Management and Leadership, Sherry continuously seeks new ways to empower both our children and staff.

    Ms. Brandy is a graduate from Hermitage High School. She began her career as an early Childhood educator at Lakeside Baptist and Noahs Ark Child Development Center. She began working will all ages and found a love for Infants. She was a lead Infant Teacher and then got promoted to Assistant Director. She loves watching the children grow and reach their developmental milestones. Her goal for each and every infant in her care is to feel loved, safe and happy.

    Ms. Mia is a native of Northern New York. She is lived here in Virginia with her family for over 18 years. She currently holds a bachelors in Communication and has 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. In perspire time, she enjoys journaling, listening to music, and spending time with her family. Ms. Mia enjoys watching the children grow and learn through discovery. She can't wait to spend quality time with your children.

    Hello my name is Morgan. Previously I have experience working with infants in a child care setting. My favorite aspect of working with children is watching them grow and learn new skills!     Ms. Emily is a graduate from Radford University. She currently holds a bachelor's in Psychology and a minor in Religious Studies. She has worked with infants most of her career. She began at her church's nursery. She then explored being a nanny and then volunteered as a court helper. Her favorite aspect of working with children is seeing them laugh. Her goal for the children at the School is learning what makes each child unique.

    I was born and raised in Northern, VA. I recently moved to Richmond to finish pursuing my degree. I have been working in childcare for almost three years and I’ve loved every minute of it. I believe that I learn from children just as much as they learn from me. Watching them learn and grow is one of the best things about my job. When I am not hard at work I love to draw, especially interior spaces. It is a very peaceful activity for me. I am also a lover of all things food, it might be the easiest way to make me happy. I am so excited to be teaching here at The Goddard School and I can’t wait to see what the year brings!

    Ms. Dylan graduated from Monacan High School and looking to start working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms Dylan has 3 years of experience in ECE. She began as a swim instructor which lead to a nannying position which grew her love for children. Ms. Dylan adores children and believes in helping them grow and develop. Her goal at Goddard is make an impact on their learning and seeing them thrive.

    Ms Tori has been teaching Preschool for over 10 years in Virginia and Washington. In 2020 she earned her Child Development Associate "CDA" and is currently working on her Associates Degree. Her teaching philosophy is learning through play and exploration. The most rewarding part of teaching for her is seeing the lightbulb moment when a child achieves a new skill or understands a new concept. In her free time, she enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.

    Ms. Clara is an enthusiastic education originally from Trinidad and Tobago who loves to bring a cultural flair to her work in the classroom. She has obtained her CDA and enjoys infusing the spirit of Carnival into fostering a love for learning in children of all ages. She is well traveled and has visited Italy, Germany, Austria, France, and the Vatican City. The enrichin experiences she has gained during her travels has influenced her decision to return to the SU and pursue her passion for education. She is committed to teaching through our surroundings, fostering creativity, and encouraging the love for learning in and out of the classroom. Her vision for every child at The Goddard School of Richmond is to come alongside them as they reach their developmental milestones and to cultivate a sense of curiosity and creativity.

    Hello my name is Marquaisha. I’m born and raised in Richmond VA. I have attended Ashford University and on the path of continuing my education. Im a caring person with over 3 years of experience with little learners. I am a proud plant mom of 12 amazing plants at home. In my free time, I enjoy painting, photography, having brunch and spending my funds at Target while getting a caramel macchiato with extra caramel from Starbucks. I’m happy to see our little humans grow and to be apart of the Goddard School

    Ms Destiny is from New York City and has been working with children for over 14 years. Her passion has been always has been caring for others, mainly children and the elderly. Prior to being selected for this school, she was a Lead Teacher and a counselor. Her goal at The Goddard School of Richmond is to continue to be a safe space for all of the children and continue to grow with my students. She plans to build healthy foundations with her students and parents and to simply work as a team to fulfill their needs in all aspects.

    My name is Vanessa. I was born in Spain. I am bilingual. I have been in the United States since 2004. Including my own children, 3 teenagers and a 5 year old. I have more than 10 years experience working with children of different ages. I earned a CDA in Infants/ Toddlers in 2012 and well as a CDA in Preschool in 2020. Most of my College was for teaching Elementary School. I have worked as a Lead in daycare settings. Children and education are two of my passions. I also love to send time with my family, cooking, playing table games and dancing,

    Meet Ms. Mirta. She has a wealth of knowledge to share with us that stems from teaching art at The YMCA , being a Sunday School Teacher and teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at a Christian Academy. She has attended Miliken University and explored Biology and Religion. Her favorite aspect about working with children is witnessing their excitement when they discover new things and seeing that moment when everything clicks for them. Each child has their own unique path to success, and it's rewarding to help them develop a love for learning and the confidence to pursue their goals. Her main goal when working with children is to help them recognize their potential and believe in themselves, creating a strong sense of who they are and what they can achieve in life.

    Ms Jennifer has been an employee of Henrico and Richmond Schools for 15 years. She drove bus and was a certified School Bus Driver Trainer. She has her own art studio where she loves painting, making jewelry, sewing and embroidery. She has three children and loves watching them learn, grow and develop. She can't wait the share her creativity with the children at the School. Her favorite aspect of working with children is getting them excited about art and science. She would like the children in her classroom to feel empowered by learning and help build their confidence through creativity.

    Ms Amber has 2 years of experience working as a nanny. She also successfully had her own in-home center for children 4 months and up. She also has a wonderful 3 yr old named Maisie. Her favorite part of working with children is sharing their joy but also being there to help them through handling all the emotions and witnessing their awareness growth. Her goal is to create memories that they can't wait to share with their families.

    My name is Kierston Janmal Jones aka Mr. K. I have 12 plus years of childcare experience through teaching and coaching sports. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia where most of my family still resides today. Family is the most important thing to me aside from my faith. I have two beautiful children that complete me. My daughter Kapri is 8 and my son Harlo is 1 and a beautiful amazing soon to be fiancé. My hobbies are basketball and just about any and everything artistic (drawing, painting, music). I am currently taking classes to get my cyber security certification. We have 2 dogs at home and soon to be 3 after Christmas. I am excited to be apart of the Goddard Family and looking forward to building relationships.

    Ms. Sydney or Ms Syd as you can call her has been working with children for over 5 years. She began babysitting and then ventured to a board member of a local nonprofit organization that mentors young girls in Richmond. When not working at the School, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs Lucy and Sundae who keep her busy. She is very close to her older sister Yolanda and she enjoys spending time with her. She believes that children are loving, innocent beings who deserve a safe space to play and be themselves freely. She is super excited to be apart of The Goddard School of Richmond and can't wait to see where this opportunity takes her.

    Ms. Hannah has been with our program for almost a year. She has 3 yrs of experience so of which involves volunteering with summer camps at her church. Some of her experience comes with working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has received a Bachelors from Virginia Union University in Psychology with a minor in Visual Arts. While in school she even explored some Special Education Training. Her favorite thing about working with children is the special connections she gets to make with them. She also loves seeing how her interactions help foster their development. Her goal is to meet each child where they are in regard to all facets of their life: developmental, cultural, and emotional needs.

    Mr. Micah is a current student at VCU and pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Health and Human Services. He has 4 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. While in his hometown of Virginia Beach, he worked with children 3-8 in a Parks and Recreation Program. He was also a referee with a youth sports program. He really enjoys communicating with children and seeing the ways in which they express themselves while growing. One goal he has for the children in the school is to encourage them to pursue their interests in a safe and healthy way.

    Meet Courtney.... Ms. Courtney is currently focused on her Master's in Counselor Education with a minor in Couples and Family Counseling. She has completed an Associate's in Social Sciences and a Bachelor's in Psychology. She has worked with children ever since she was 11 as a volunteer and then worked in Early Education for over 4 years. She loves to see their personalities and how they reach their different stages of development. Her goal is to create a positive environment for each and every child so they feel loved and appreciated everyday.

    Ms. Rose has been in the Early Childhood Field for several years. She studied ECE at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. She worked in a Head Start program for 5 years at MCV and was a Program Coordinator for an Afterschool Program as well. She enjoys working with children and teaching them new things. She is eager to help children at The Goddard School of Richmond learn, grow, and help them be future leaders.

    Ms Olivia is currently focused on pushing a double major in International Studies and Spanish. She has been in the Early Childhood Education field for over 5 years. She began as a swim instructor and then a nanny. She even went overseas to Spain for an Au Pair position for 6 months. She loves the creativity and exploration that she experiences and develops for the children at the School. Her goal at Goddard is to help make learning fun for everyone, and creating a space for every child to grow and learn successfully.

    Meet Lauren, our afternoon PREK Teacher. She came to us with a vast knowledge of children and education. She completed an Associate's at Reynolds in Science and furthered her education at VCU where she completed a Bachelor's Elementary Education. She has spent over 5 years working with children from ages 2-5 at Trinity Lutheran Preschool. She absolutely loves seeing children (no matter their age) make these real life connections....also know as THE LIGHTBULB EFFECT! Her goal is to always make children feel safe while in her care and build that relationship where they are comfortable to come to her for anything.

    Meet Shelby, one of our wonderful Resource teachers. Shelby has a passion for children. She has been a nanny and a babysitter for over 6 years and also worked as a co-lead in a preschool classroom. She is certified in CPR and First aid. She has completed a Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Musical Theatre through Nazareth University. She also decided to pursue her Master's in Elementary Education through Western Governor's University. Her favorite aspect of working with children is watching them grow and making new discoveries. Her goal when is to get to know each of the children and to build strong relationships.

    Meet Ms. Sumayyah. She came to us from Skipwith where she spent the last 2 years teaching. She has also spent some time as a behavioral technician with Health Services of Virginia. She is studying at VCU and working on obtaining a bachelor's in Psychology. She has previously achieved an associates degree child development from Reynolds. She loves seeing a child grow and develop during each stage of life. Her main goal is to provide a positive and nurturing environment.

She is currently enrolled locally at VCU for Nursing. She loves working with children because they teach her something new everyday, whether a creative way to solve a problem or a simple reminder to find joy in the little things. Her goal for all the children is to create a safe and supportive environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and inspired learn.
