We are currently hiring afternoon assistants for classrooms of all ages! Welcome to The Goddard School at Flemington! We provide year round play based education for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years including an after-school program and school age summer camp in a modern facility with a strong administrative team. The school and our Parents Association enjoying taking part in local charitable and social activities meant to build a sense of community and social responsibility. An Assistant Teacher at The Goddard School® is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally an Assistant Teacher is responsible to work together with a Lead Teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty. Assistant Teacher Responsibilities The Assistant Teacher must understand the responsibilities and be willing to assume the role of the Lead Teacher, should the Lead Teacher be unable to fulfill his/her job responsibilities. A Lead Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance Establish positive and effective family relations Ensure an effective program, responsive to children’s needs Maintain professional commitment Educational Qualifications All candidates, who wish to be considered for the position of Assistant Teacher must meet the criteria mandated by the state and/or local licensing authorities. Experience working in a licensed childcare facility A High School diploma or equivalent Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development or a CDA Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work Must be at least 18 years of age Hours to be filled: Full-time 9am-6pm or part-time 3pm-6pm Job Type: Full-time
