Our Goddard School Teachers

From Cincinnati, I came to Atlanta to study electrical engineering at Georgia Tech. After more than a decade in leadership roles at a Fortune 100 company, where I earned three U.S. patents, I developed an interest in business and earned an MBA from Emory University. Becoming a parent changed my perspective and led me to open The Goddard School, where I could make an impact on children’s lives and support families in our community. With respective degrees from Harvard College & Howard University, my adult daughter and son credit their love of learning to their early years at The Goddard School. Outside of Goddard, I enjoy time with husband, family & friends. I have served as PTA president, school business council member, and team mom. My favorite children's book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. I am a graduate of Leadership Georgia, served on the Board of Directors for Ferst Readers, and remain active in several service organizations. My goal is simple - to be impactful.

Kristen Johnson is the Executive Director at The Goddard School in Decatur and brings more than 15 years of experience in early childhood education to her role. Throughout her career, Kristen has served in a variety of leadership and professional development roles, supporting children, educators, and families. Kristen holds a bachelors degree in African-American Studies and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Studies and has served as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations devoted to quality improvements for young children and their families. Kristen is passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn, educators feel supported and empowered, and families feel heard, welcomed, and confident in their child’s experience. As a wife and mom of two, she understands the importance of strong school-family partnerships. She is excited to build meaningful relationships with the Decatur community and help every child thrive.

Dr. Angela brings more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education and educational leadership to The Goddard School of Decatur. Originally from New York, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Child Development from Spelman College, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, and a Doctoral degree in Education and Organizational Leadership from National University. Dr. Angela believes that teaching is one of the most rewarding professions because it creates lifelong benefits for children. She is passionate about being a positive role model and believes every child deserves to be met with kindness, compassion, and encouragement. Outside of school, Dr. Angela enjoys horseback riding, reading, and collecting magnets from places she has visited. She is also the proud mother of five children. One of her favorite children's books is The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister, a story that reflects the importance of kindness and sharing.

Ms. Anna is originally from Houston, Texas, and serves as the Operations Director at The Goddard School of Decatur. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Auburn University and her Master's degree in Social Work from The University of Georgia. Although her professional background is not in early childhood education, Ms. Anna is passionate about supporting an environment where children, families, and educators can thrive. She especially enjoys witnessing children's natural curiosity about the world and how eager they are to learn and explore new ideas each day. Outside of work, Ms. Anna loves spending time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring scenic walking trails. One of her favorite children's books is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, a timeless story that celebrates imagination and adventure.

Ms. Morgan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and serves as the Social Media & Engagement Coordinator at The Goddard School of Decatur. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Howard University and has six years of experience working in early childhood education. Ms. Morgan is passionate about inspiring young learners and enriching their educational experiences while helping families stay connected to the exciting moments happening throughout the school. She enjoys showcasing the joy of learning and celebrating the accomplishments of both students and staff. Outside of work, Ms. Morgan enjoys DJing, writing poetry, and reading. One of her favorite children's books is Please, Baby, Please by Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee, a fun and engaging story that celebrates the energy and curiosity of young children.

Ms. Wynette is from Atlanta, Georgia, and began working with young children in 2025. What she enjoys most about teaching children is watching them achieve their developmental goals. In her free time, Ms. Wynette enjoys swimming and cooking. She loves sharing books of all genres with the young learners in her class.

Ms. Shorline is from Brooklyn, New York, and attended Touro University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Science and Psychology. She has been working with young children for over 15 years. Ms. Shorline enjoys bonding with the children in her class and watching them grow. In her free time, she loves movies, spending time with her son, and listening to music across many genres, including K-pop, instrumental jazz, Reggae, Soca, and Calypso. Her favorite children’s book is Llama Llama Red Pajamas by Anna Dewdney.

Ms. Molly is from North Carolina and has been working with young learners since 1990. She loves seeing the excitement on their faces when learning new things. She also loves the opportunity to be a part of their development while providing them with a safe learning environment. Ms. Molly’s favorite children’s book is Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss.

Ms. Kendra is from Fulton County, Georgia, and has been working with young children for over ten years. What she enjoys most about working with children is seeing them smile. Her favorite children’s book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.

Ms. Keisha is from West Palm Beach, Florida, and is currently pursuing her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. She enjoys teaching because she loves watching children grow and build relationships. In her free time, Ms. Keisha enjoys traveling and shopping. Her favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

Ms. Andrea is from Atlanta, Georgia, and has been in Early Childhood Education since 2012. Her favorite part about working with children is being a part of their joy and seeing their individuality shine. In her free time, Ms. Andrea enjoys drawing and playing video games. Her favorite children’s book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

Ms. Lavojia is from Decatur, Georgia, and attended Post University, where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with children for over 4 years. Ms. Lavojia believes that her role as a teacher is to give children skills for success. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and arts and crafts. Her favorite children’s book is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss.

Ms. Yasmin is from Atlanta, Georgia, and began working with young children in 2020. What she enjoys most about teaching children is seeing them smile as they learn and grow. Her favorite children’s book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.

Ms. Trevinia is from Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently working towards her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. Her favorite part about working with children is getting to enjoy their endless energy and curiosity. Her favorite children’s book is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle.

Ms. Tayah is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently pursuing her CDA credentials. She began working with children in 2022. She enjoys teaching because she loves engaging with her students and watching them grow. In her free time, Ms. Tayah enjoys designing and crafting clothes. Her favorite children’s book is Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.

Ms. Chiketta is from Atlanta, Georgia, and has been working with young children for over 25 years. What she enjoys most about teaching children is seeing their growth. Children motivate her, and she enjoys learning new things from their development. Her favorite saying is “Communication is key, learn something new every day.” Ms. Chiketta’s favorite children’s book is Llama Llama by Anna Dewdney.

Ms. Megan is from Commerce, Georgia, and is currently working on her CDA credentials. She began working with young children in 2024. What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing a child’s daily growth and creating bonds with her students. Her favorite children’s book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

Ms. Ebony is from Boston, Massachusetts, and attended the University of West Georgia. She has been working with young learners since 2019 and enjoys teaching because she loves watching students learn, grow, and develop emotionally. In her free time, Ms. Ebony enjoys Pilates, cooking, and going to the beach. Her favorite children’s books are No, David! by David Shannon and The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss.

Mrs. Chamieka is from Brooklyn, New York. She has a degree in nursing and completed EMT school. She began working in early childhood education in 2012. What she enjoys most about teaching is helping children learn skills they can use in life. She also loves hearing them say, “I did it,” and seeing their proud smiles. In her free time, Mrs. Chamieka enjoys filming, cooking, healthy living, and fashion. Her favorite children’s book is The Three Little Pigs by Joseph Jacobs.

Ms. Kiamber is from Social Circle, Georgia, and is currently pursuing her CDA from Gwinnett Technical College. She began working with young children in 2022. What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing children smile and being able to teach them new things. She wants to make sure that each child is learning while being hands-on during fun activities. In her free time, Ms. Kiamber enjoys reading and singing. Her favorite children’s book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

Ms. Khadaijah is from Atlanta, Georgia, and began working with young children in 2017. She enjoys teaching because she gets to see each child’s personality shine and grow in their own unique way. In her free time, Ms. Khadaijah enjoys traveling and being involved in the beauty industry. Her favorite children’s book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.

Ms. Miracle is from Warthen, Georgia, and has been a teacher at The Goddard School for over three years. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing her students’ faces light up as they learn and have fun. In her free time, Ms. Miracle enjoys serving at her church, reading, and watching K-dramas. Her favorite children’s book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

Ms. Ava is from Stonecrest, Georgia, and has four years of experience in early childhood education. She is currently pursuing her degree at Georgia State University while continuing her passion for supporting young learners at The Goddard School of Decatur. Ms. Ava loves children's honesty, high spirits, and unique personalities. She finds great joy in nurturing and protecting children while helping them build confidence, explore their interests, and develop a love of learning. She strives to create a caring and encouraging environment where every child feels valued and supported. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Ava enjoys writing, painting, listening to K-pop, and collecting CDs. One of her favorite children's books is A Treasury of Curious George by H. A. Rey and Margret Rey, a timeless collection that celebrates curiosity, imagination, and adventure.
