Mr Derick, Owner After earning his bachelor's degree in Financial Services from Wright State University, Derick received his MBA from Bowling Green State University. Since then, he has worked in corporate finance for over twenty years. Derick is also involved with the Novi Chamber of Commerce.

Derick is thrilled to be able to provide The Goddard School's outstanding program to the children and families in the greater Novi community. He and his wife, Bobbie, are raising a three-year-old son and recognize the importance of a safe and nurturing learning environment, which is why they chose The Goddard School. He is proud to offer an incredible opportunity for children to grow through exploration and hands-on learning.

Ms Janelle, Director Janelle earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development and Learning from Central Michigan University. She has worked in schools and early childhood centers since 2006 and has grown a passion for early childhood education.

Janelle had a goal of becoming an elementary school teacher but found her love for preschool when she started working as a lead teacher. Janelle was on the executive board for the Association of Education for Young Children at Central Michigan for three years and has volunteered in many elementary schools.

As the Education Director, she wants to provide a safe environment for each child and wants their experience to be beneficial to their growth emotionally, physically, and mentally. Janelle believes early childhood development is one of the most important aspects that children can experience.

Ms Jayme, Director Jayme has her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and is certified in Early Childhood Development and Learning, Math and Language Arts from Central Michigan University.

Jayme has been working with children since 2007. She taught 3rd grade for 3 years and was a Special Education Camp Counselor. Jayme also has experience as a Young 5’s Teacher.

Jayme is a member of the Michigan Reading Association. She accomplished her goals by hard work, dedication, and support from family and friends. One of her biggest accomplishments is raising her two children.

As the Co-Director, Jayme wants to establish a love for learning in young children so that the passion of learning can continue on through their lives.

Ms Lauren, Lead Teacher Ms. Lauren is one of our lead teachers. She has her child development associates in infant and toddler. Ms. Lauren is also attending Oakland Community College to get her Bachelor’s in Cinematic Arts.
Ms. Lauren has worked with children since 2015. She has also been a lead summer camp teacher with elementary children.
In her free time, Ms. Lauren loves watching movies and hanging out with friends and family. Ms. Lauren went into early childhood because of her love for children and watching them grow.

Ms Rachael, Lead Teacher Ms. Rachael is one of our lead teachers. She has her Child Development Associate with a focus in Infant and Toddler. Ms. Rachael has been working with children since 2007.
In her free time, Ms. Rachael enjoys spending time with her son Kadin and traveling to Silver Lake Sand Dunes with friends.
Her son was a big part of her inspiration to continue in the early childhood field. She loves working with children and seeing their faces light up when they learn something new.

Ms Alejandra, Lead Teacher
*Ms. Aly was nominated for The Goddard School's 2021 Teacher of the Year Award*

Ms. Aly is one of our Lead Teachers. She has her Bachelor's Degree from BYU-Idaho in Child Development. Ms. Aly has been working with children since 2013. She has also participated in an Autism Spectrum seminar through the Inland Regional Center in California.
Ms. Aly's biggest accomplishments was moving from California to Michigan and she is now living on her own.
In her free time, Ms. Aly loves to travel, read, watch movies and try new food. Her mother is who inspired her to go into Early Childhood.

Ms Kaity, Lead Teacher Ms. Kaity is one of our Lead teachers. She has her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from a technical college in Wisconsin. Ms. Kaity has been working with children since 2015. She has also student taught from 2013-2015.
Ms. Kaity moved from Wisconsin in 2016 after she married her husband Ben. In her free time, Ms. Kaity enjoys hiking, going to the movies, reading, and photography.
Ms. Kaity thinks children are wildly fun to work with and that it is a great reward to help nurture a child.

Ms Gabrielle, Lead Teacher Ms. Gabrielle is our multi-aged specialists acting as an assistant teacher. She has her Bachelor’s in Children and Families from Eastern Michigan University. Ms. Gabrielle has been working with children since 2013.
In her free time, Ms. Gabrielle enjoys spending time with her family, knitting, and reading. Her favorite children’s book is Stellaluna.
Ms. Gabrielle went into Early Childhood because she loves the idea of shaping young minds. She believes that even small milestones are big accomplishments.

Ms Kelsey, Lead Teacher Ms. Kelsey is one of our lead teachers. She has her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Schoolcraft. She has been working with children since 2016.
Ms. Kelsey has worked with children from the ages of infant through 10 years old. She would not have been able to achieve her goals without the support and love from her family. Ms. Kelsey's favorite children's book is Arthur.
In her free time, Ms. Kelsey enjoys fishing at her cottage with her family. Ms. Kelsey went into early childhood because she has always had a love for children and that was confirmed when she started her early childhood program at college.

Ms Nadia, Lead Teacher Ms. Nadia is one of our lead Teachers. She has her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Development from Purdue Global University.
Ms. Nadia has been working with children since 2011. Ms. Nadia achieved her goals through planning and leaning on her support system.
In her free time, Ms. Nadia loves spending time with her nieces and nephew and her family. She likes to watch movies, go for walks, and experience art. Ms. Nadia went into early childhood because of her love for children and connection with them. She wants to help give them a safe environment to explore in and be comfortable.

Ms Danielle, Lead Teacher Ms. Danielle is one of our lead teachers. She has her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Madonna University. Ms. Danielle has worked with children since 2009.
In her free time, Ms. Danielle enjoys spending time with her family. She rides motorcycles and enjoys scrapbooking.

Ms Tais, Lead Teacher Ms. Tais is one of our lead teachers. She has her Bachelor's of Education in English and Portuguese from a college in Brazil.Ms. Tais also has her Child Development Associates in infant and toddler. Ms. Tais has been working with children since 2012.
Ms. Tais came to America as an exchange student and worked in an Au Pair program. She came here to gain more experience with children
Ms. Tais' favorite children's book is "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss. In her free time, Ms. Tais enjoys going for walks, riding her bike, and going to the movies. She went into early childhood because she loves kids and likes to see them grow and learn every day.

Ms Elizabeth, Lead Teacher Ms. Liz is one of our lead teachers. She has her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and has her Child Development Associates in preschool. Ms. Liz has been working with children since 2008.
Ms. Liz has traveled to Europe and has completed the Police Academy. Her favorite children's book is Rock, Paper, Scissors.
In her free time, Ms. Liz enjoys watching movies and spending time with her family. She went into early childhood because she has loved working with children and watching them develop at such a young age.

Ms Jacey, Lead Teacher Ms. Jacey is one of our lead teachers. She has completed her Child Development Associates in preschool. Ms. Jacey has been working with children since 2002.
Ms. Jacey's favorite children's books are "Animals Strike at the Zoo, It's True", and "Owl Babies." In her free time, Ms. Jacey enjoys reading, crafting, spending time with friends and family along with her niece and nephews.

Ms. April is one of our Lead teachers. She has her Bachelor's in English Literature from Madonna University and her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from William Tyndale College.
Ms. April has been working with children since 1989 and became a mom in 2004. She has also worked at the Olympics as security. In her free time, Ms. April enjoys painting and writing poetry and short stories. She has self published a poetry book in 1990.
Growing up, Ms. April's mom was a teacher in the school she attended. Once she went to college, Ms. April found her love for teaching as well and enjoyed working in the early childhood field.

Ms Esther, Lead Teacher Ms. Esther is one of our Lead Teachers. She has her Associates of Arts from Mott Community College. Ms. Esther has her Child Development Associates in Preschool. Ms. Esther has been working with children since 2007.
Ms. Esther's faith is very important to her and it has helped her with everyday struggles. She is very dedicated to her work and school. One of Ms. Esther's biggest accomplishments are her children.
In her free time, Ms. Esther enjoys biking, scrap-booking, and traveling to different places. The love of children is what inspired Ms. Esther to go into Early Childhood. She wants all children to have a safe place to learn.

Ms Morgan, Lead Teacher

Ms. Morgan is one of our lead teachers. She has her child development associates in preschool. Ms. Morgan also has her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ferris State University.
Ms. Morgan has been working with children since 2012. One of her greatest accomplishments was graduating college with a 3.6 GPA.
In her free time, Ms. Morgan enjoys horseback riding. Ms. Morgan went into early childhood because she loves children and loves helping them learn.

Ms Tamie, Lead Teacher Ms. Tamie is one of our lead teachers. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Central Michigan University. Ms. Tamie has also obtained her Elementary Education teaching certification from Eastern Michigan University.
Ms. Tamie has taught children from birth to 5th grade. Her most important work is being a mom to her two son’s Cameron and Riley. Ms. Tamie is very proud of her passion and dedication to the education of young children.
In her free time, Ms. Tamie loves spending time with her boys, reading, traveling, and crafting. She also loves attending Rick Springfield concerts. Ms. Tamie went into early childhood because there is nothing quite so satisfying and exciting as seeing the light bulb go off in a young child when they look at you and say “I can do this!” She is fortunate to have an impact and lasting impression on the students in her room.

Ms Trisha, Lead Teacher Ms. Trisha is one of our lead teachers. She has her Bachelor's of Arts in early childhood development and learning from Central Michigan University. Ms. Trisha has been working with children since 2007.
In high school, Ms. Trisha had experience with living with a German exchange student. This allowed her to get an outside world perspective and learn about other cultures. Ms. Trisha's favorite children's book is "The Kissing Hand."
In her free time, Ms. Trisha enjoys reading and traveling. She went into early childhood because she has always loved working with children. She knew she wanted to be a teacher her whole life so going into early childhood was the right path for her.

Ms Holly, Assistant Teacher Ms. Holly is one of our assistant teachers. She has her Bachelor's in psychology from Eastern Michigan University and was a member of the honors college. Ms. Holly has been working with children since 2008. She has worked as a mentor and as a volunteer in a "Mommy and Me" class with Starfish Family Services.
Ms. Holly has been a mentor in a college support system at EMU. She taught discipline, professionalism, leadership. She graduated high school and college with honors. Ms. Holly's favorite children's books are "The Velveteen Rabbit" and "Junie B. Jones."
In her free time, Ms. Holly enjoys painting, poetry, reading, and yoga. Ms. Holly went into early childhood because of her passion for child development and stresses the importance of early intervention of early childcare.

Ms Isabel, Assistant Teacher Ms. Isabel is one of our assistant teachers. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and a semester early from her high school at Early College Alliance at EMU. Ms. Isabel has been working with children since 2013.
Ms. Isabel volunteers at a pro-life organization where she works with mothers and children who need support and childcare.
In her free time, Ms. Isabel enjoys cooking, photography, drawing and shopping. Ms. Isabel comes from a big family and has 7 siblings. It is because of them that she enjoys working with children and helping them learn.

Ms Molly, Assistant Teacher Ms. Molly is one of our assistant teachers. She graduated St. Catherine of Siena Academy in 2020 and plans on attending Schoolcraft Community College. Ms. Molly has been working with children since 2015. She was involved in the American Heritage Girls group and would assist the younger girls in her school.
Ms. Molly played tennis and was the lead role in her school play. Her favorite children's book is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear." In her free time she enjoys singing and acting.
Ms. Molly loves working in the early childhood field. She is the oldest out of 12 cousins and loved watching them grow up.

Ms Carmen, Assistant Teacher Ms. Carmen is one of our assistant teachers. She graduated from Saint Catherine of Siena Academy and plans on attending Eastern Michigan University for pediatric nursing or child psychology.
Ms. Carmen comes from a family of 8 and is the second oldest. She has had a lot of experience with taking care of young children. To achieve her goals, Ms. Carmen worked hard and put her heart into everything she does.
Ms. Carmen's favorite children's book is the Giving Tree. In her free time, Ms. Carmen loves photography and to travel. She enjoys working with children because she loves being able to help them grow and learning from them is such a great experience.

Ms Hannah, Assistant Teacher Ms. Hannah is one of our assistant teachers. She is currently completing her Child Development Associates with a Preschool concentration. Ms. Hannah has been working with children since 2012.
Ms. Hannah's favorite children's book is "Oh, The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. In her free time, Ms. Hannah enjoys cooking.

Ms Samantha, Assistant Teacher Ms. Sam is one of our assistant teachers. She graduated from St. Catherine of Siena Academy in 2020. Ms. Sam is currently attending UofM to pursue a degree in neonatal or pediatric nursing. Ms. Sam has been working with children since 2017.
Ms. Sam has volunteered at an elementary school for children with special needs. She graduated 3rd in her high school while also balancing a lot of extracurriculars.
Her Favorite children's book is "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie." In her free time, Ms. Sam enjoys taking classes at her dance studio, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. Ms. Sam has always had a huge heart for children and she loves watching them grow.

Ms Haley, Assistant Teacher Ms. Haley is one of our assistant teachers. She will begin attending Saint Mary's College in the fall. Ms. Haley has been working with children since 2013.
Ms. Haley has gone on mission trips to the Dominican Republic for varsity sports and has been on the honor roll all through high school.
Ms. Haley's favorite children's book is "Goodnight Moon and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom".In her free time, Ms. Haley enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, traveling and playing sports. Ms. Haley enjoys working with children because she wanted to be able to make a positive impact on their young lives.

Ms Rheem, Assistant Teacher Ms. Rheem is one of our assistant teachers. She is currently completing her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Rheem has worked as a pharmacy tech for 5 years but found her passion in early childhood.
One of Ms. Rheem's favorite children's books are "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie." In her free time Ms. Rheem enjoys traveling, working out, volleyball, reading and spending time with her dog Bambi. Ms. Rheem believes that early childhood is one of the most honorable career choices. She loves being able to mold and help children grow for our future.

Ms Grace, Assistant Teacher Ms. Grace is one of our assistant teachers. She is currently attending Saint Mary's College as a biology major. Grace has been working with children since 2013.
Grace had the opportunity to start and run a fundraiser for Sean English which raised $10,000.
Ms. Grace's favorite children's book is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." In her free time, Ms. Grace enjoys playing sports, music and spending time with friends.

Ms Ava, Assistant Teacher Ms. Ava is one of our assistant teachers. She is attending Grand Valley State University to study education. Ms. Ava has been working with children since 2019.
In high school, Ms. Ava was asked by the Principal to write and deliver speeches for various school events. Her favorite children's book is "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn.
In her free time, Ms. Ava enjoys writing, music, and spending time with her family. Ms. Ava went into early childhood because she has always wanted to be a teacher and loves working with young children.

Ms Suprina, Assistant Teacher Ms. Suprina is one of our assistant teachers. She has been working with children since 2010. Ms. Suprina also has her masters of Business Administration from Walsh College.
In her free time, Ms. Suprina enjoys cooking and playing keyboard. She has worked for her family's business since 1998 and has enjoyed being able to help take care of her nieces.

Ms Surekha, Assistant Teacher Ms. Surekha is one of our assistant teachers. She has her Bachelor's of Education in Teacher Training. Ms. Surekha has been working with children since 2007 and was a science teacher in India for 3 years.
Ms. Surekha's favorite children's book is "Brown Bear Brown Bear." In her free time, Ms. Surekha enjoys cooking and spending time with her children.

Ms Madhavi, Assistant Teacher Ms. Madhavi is one of our assistant teachers. She has her Bachelor's of Arts in Telugu, history and political science from Sri Krishnadevaraya University in India. Ms. Madhavi has also completed her Telugu Pandit Teacher training. She has worked with children since 2000 and taught high school students for 5 years.
Ms. Madhavi has had the opportunity to live in different cities in India, London UK and in the U.S. This has helped her understand different cultures and appreciate them. Ms. Madhavi was awarded twice as best teacher during her early years of teaching in India.
In her free time, Ms. Madhavi enjoys cooking, decorating her home, and painting. Ms. Madhavi chose to work in the early childhood field because she is a trained teacher and has a passion for working with younger children.

Ms Amy, Resource Ms. Amy is one of our assistant teachers. She has an associates from HFC in music. Ms. Amy also studied Music Education at Wayne State University. She has been working with children since 2000.
While completing her degree, Ms. Amy took Advanced First Aid, Trauma Relief, and CPR. She believes that practice makes progress, and goals can be achieved through hard work and determination.
Ms. Amy's favorite book is Tales of Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne. In her free time, Ms. Amy enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and windsurfing.
As a child Ms. Amy performed opera for young children through Wayne State University and was given opportunities to teach lessons in vocal schools. She loved watching the children fall in love with music and learn other subjects through music.

Ms Raven, Resource Ms. Raven is one of our assistant teachers. She has been a nanny for two years and has two boys of her own.
Ms. Raven loves There Was an Old Lady children’s books. In her free time, Ms. Raven loves spending time with her children and riding bikes.

Ms Shannon, Resource Ms. Shannon is one of our assistant teachers. She is currently attending Washtenaw Community College and is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She has been working with children since 2013.
With support from her family and friends Ms. Shannon was able to buy her first house in October 2018, and get married January 2019. Both are accomplishments she is proud of.
In her spare time she enjoys fitness, reading, puzzling, and relaxing on her deck or the beach. Ms. Shannon's favorite children's books include all the 'Pete the Cat' books.
Her 'child at heart' attitude and the ability to teach children to be the best version of themselves is what inspired her to go into early childhood.
