Our Goddard School Teachers

Amy joined The Goddard School family in 2008. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee. She taught public school for three years before moving into corporate training and human resources. She and her husband (Bill) opened their first Goddard School in January of 2009. This will be the fourth Goddard School they have opened -- and first in the Charleston area. She and Bill have three daughters -- two of whom live in the Nexton Community. In her free time, Amy enjoys walking her Boykin Spaniel puppy, Toffee and gardening. She is also a terrible knitter.

Bill and his wife (Amy) started their Goddard odyssey in January of 2009, opening their first of three schools in the Fort Mill, SC area. In preparation for their move to Charleston, they sold all 3 schools with the desire of opening the Goddard School in Summerville-Nexton. Bill has a BA degree from Oglethorpe University and an MBA from Emory University. Bill and Amy also are proud parents of 3 girls who are all connected to Goddard in some way. Their youngest daughter (Rachel) attended the Goddard School in Twinsburg, Ohio and graduated from Florida State University this past December. Their middle daughter (Tegan), a graduate of CofC, resides in Nexton and was a teacher/director at our Fort Mill school. Their oldest daughter (Casey) is a graduate of Arizona State and was a Toddler teacher at the Goddard Fort Mill school. She is now a recruiter for Seamon Whiteside and lives in the Nexton community.

Ms. Tegan is the onsite owner & operator of the Goddard School of Summerville. From the time she was little, she saw how much her parents enjoyed operating their 3 schools in the Charlotte, NC area and was passionate about one day running her own program. Before opening the Summerville location, Tegan worked as a Resource Teacher, PreKindergarten Teacher, Education Director, and Operations Director at one of the Charlotte, NC schools. Ms. Tegan is incredibly grateful for her years of experience in the classrooms where she enjoyed hands-on experience with Kindergarten readiness, health & safety best practices, and curriculum development. Her mission at the Goddard School of Summerville is to create a learning environment that fosters positive relationships between students, parents, & teachers to uphold academic excellence and simplify life for the families in her program.

Ms. Megan earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Claflin University. During her time there, she interned at the Orangeburg Preparatory Child Development Center. She stayed at OP for a full year after graduating before joining the Goddard team in October of 2024. Since working at Goddard Ms. Megan has taught Preschool and Pre- K before stepping into the Education Director position. In Ms. Megan's free time she likes to go to the movies, have family game nights, and travel.

Ms. Amanda joined our school in September 2024 and brings six years of experience in early childhood education! Throughout her career, she has worked with children of all ages, from infants through four-year-olds, and is passionate about supporting each child's growth and development. Ms. Amanda holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration. Having lived all over the country before settling in SC, she brings the diverse experiences and perspectives she has gained along the way into her classroom. Outside of school, Ms. Amanda loves spending time with her family and enjoying life on the water.

Ms. Shea joined us in August of 2024. She graduated in December of 2024 with her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Claflin University. She has always loved working with little ones whether it was nannying or being a camp counselor. She is working with us part time until she graduates and can join our team full time. When she is not working or in class, she enjoys taking her son to the park!

Ms. Kim graduated from S.U.N.Y New Paltz with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She went straight into early childhood teaching and has worked with Infants through 4 year olds. Kim joined the Goddard Family in 2016 in the Charlotte market and we're happy that she relocated to Charleston! When she's not teaching, she loves time with her husband David and her dog Bella.

Ms. Emily joined us in June of 2026! Emily is from New York, and moved to the Charleston area 5 years ago. She recently completed her Bachelor's in Child Development, and brings years of experience working with children as a cheer and gymnastics coach! She is very excited to be starting her career in early childhood education. When she isn't working, Emily loves spending time with her two dogs and watching scary movies!

Ms. Tori joined us in January of 2026! She has been an early childhood educator for 5 years, with experience in Reggio-Amelia and Montessori programs. Ms. Tori brings a love of the 2s with here to Goddard! Ms. Tori holds her associates in business from Trident Tech, and her bachelor’s in art history from the College of Charleston. She grew up in Mount Pleasant and recently moved to Summerville. When she’s not at work, Tori enjoys spending time with her pets; her hermit crab, as well as her cats Ash and Pumpkin.

Sabrina earned a BA in Psychology and also holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. Before coming to Goddard, Sabrina taught in a Montessori program with 18-24 month old children. She also taught as an assistant in a special needs program serving children in grades K through 8. When she isn't working, she enjoys reading Danielle Steele novels.

Ms. Jalicia gained early childhood education experience during her time at Ridge Christian Academy where she worked primarily with students in the K2, K3, and K4 programs. Since starting with us, Ms. Jalicia is excited to start working on her CDA to gain more technical skills in the world of early learning. In Ms. Jalicia's free time, she enjoys photography, making jewelry, crocheting, and learning about her Family Tree!

Ms. Gabby joined us in August 2026! She has worked with children since 2010 in both early childhood education and administrative assistant roles. Throughout her career, she has worked with infants through preschool-aged children. Gabby and her family just moved here and is excited to be back home! She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, reading, and coffee.

Ms. Francesca is currently attending Trident Technical College, working toward her transferable Associate in Arts degree. She plans to continue her education by transferring to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with a focus on school-age children. Ms. Francesca has been working in childcare for three years and is excited to continue growing in the field for many years to come. She loves the joy, genuineness, and curiosity that children bring and is grateful to be a part of their learning journey during their early years. In her free time, Ms. Francesca enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, visiting the beach, and shopping.

Ms. Lauren joined us in June of 2026! She has worked with children since 2018, and in early childhood education for the past 4 years! Lauren has a true passion for teaching preschool, and her goal is to earn her bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health Science, which she has been working on. Lauren grew up in the small town of Shulerville, SC, and recently made the move to the Summerville area. When she's not teaching, Lauren loves taking day trips, spending time with friends and family, and especially her niece!

Ms. Myrra currently has her CDA, but is excited to work on her Bachelor's Degree in either Elementary Education or Special Education once she gets settled into South Carolina. She is originally from Northern Virginia where she has worked in childcare for the last 8 years. During her time in licensed centers in Virginia, Ms. Myrra has worked as a lead teacher for Preschool and Prekindergarten age groups. When Ms. Myrra is not working, she enjoys volunteering at Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter or spending time with her pet cats.

Ms. Christiana (CJ) joined us July of 2026! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Adolescent Development and began her career working with children with special needs and disabilities for five years. After completing her practicum at a preschool, she discovered her love for early education and has been inspiring young learners ever since! Outside of work, Ms. CJ enjoys shopping, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Ms. Whitney joined us in July of 2025. Whitney has been working in the field of early childhood education for 4 years! Whitney absolutely loves working with toddlers! Whitney grew up between Columbia and Las Vegas and made her way back here to the Charleston area. Whitney also has a background in working with animals, with a degree in veterinary assistance. When she’s not teaching, Ms. Whitney loves to read – especially Harry Potter! She also enjoys spending time with her family and dog.

Ms. Jessica earn her Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in English and English Language Learners from William Patterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. She has been working education since 2008 and brings a wealth of experience in both early education and elementary education. Ms. Jessica has spent 6 years working with Pre-K, Preschool and Toddler-aged children, along with 12 years of teaching first grade. Outside the classroom, Ms. Jessica enjoys baking hiking, going for walks and spending quality time with her husband, Allen, and their daughter.

Ms. Jessie joined us in June of 2026! She brings over 5 years of experience in childcare with her. Ms. Jessie holds her BA in Art History from the University of New Hampshire, and her MFA in Creative Writing from Fairfield University. Jessie grew up in New Hampshire, has lived in South Carolina for 5 years, and spent some time living abroad in England! When she isn't teaching, Jessie spends her time with her husband, their two children, and enjoys reading, painting, and digital illustration.

Ms. Sam (short for Samantha) graduated from the University of Mount Saint Vincent in 2025 with Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in General Education and Special Education and is licensed in New York. Outside of work Sam enjoys staying active through fitness, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and family. Sam is passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment and supportive learning environment, where every child can grow and thrive.

Ms. Luz was born in Venezuela and lived in Puerto Rico for 15 years. Mrs. Luz eventually moved back to Venezuela to earn her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Universidad Nacional Abierta. She has since found her passion to be working with early learners where she has gained over 6 years of experience. Ms. Luz has two children with her husband and enjoys jogging in her free time.

Ms. Valerie earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University. After graduating, she worked as a teacher in the Greenville County Public School System for 12 years working with grades K-8. She also enjoyed doing some work with the Children's Museum of the Update in Greenville, before eventually moving to the Charleston area and working in DD2. When Ms. Valerie isn't working, she enjoys boating with family and friends!

Ms. Angie joined us in March of 2026! Angie has over 15 years of experience working in education, and holds her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Angie teaches classes at a local homeschool co-op. Angie homeschooled both of her girls through their entire education, and is proud to have one daughter currently attending CSU, and one junior in high school. When she's not teaching, Angie enjoys cooking and baking, and spending time with her family; her husband, daughters, bonus son and granddaughter!

Ms. Jada joined us in September of 2026! Ms. Jada holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Tennessee. She also has a background in education, child and family services, and school operations. Ms. Jada has developed a deep passion for supporting children and families. She believes every child deserves a safe, loving, and welcoming space where they can feel comfortable being themselves, learn, grow, and thrive! Outside of school, Ms. Jada loves spending time with her family and pets, going to the beach, and enjoying the outdoors.

Ms. Emerson joined us in September of 2026! Ms. Emerson graduated from the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and spent two years teaching middle school special education. Ms. Emerson is so excited to work with our little ones and create a loving, nurturing, and safe environment where every child can learn, grow, and reach new milestones. Outside of school work Emerson loves reading a good book and going on coffee runs.

Ms. Daniela joined us in September of 2026! Ms. Daniela brings over four years of experience working with children and has a special love for caring for infants. She enjoys creating a warm, nurturing environment, and supported as they explore, learn, and reach new milestones. Ms. Daniela is bilingual in English and Spanish and loves building meaningful relationships with both children and their families. Outside of the classroom Ms. Daniela enjoys traveling, listening to music, spending time with her family and dog, Kaiser.

Ms. Lacey joined our team in September 2026! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Family and Child Development from Liberty University and has 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. She especially loves working with preschoolers and watching them learn, grow, and reach milestones. Outside of work, Lacey enjoys baking with her daughter, relaxing at the beach, and reading a good book.

Ms. Bryanna joined our team in September 2026! Ms. Bryanna is currently attending Grand Canyon University, working towards her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She brings 10 years of experience in education and childcare. Ms. Bryanna has worked with children toddler through elementary school age and loves creating a fun, caring environment where children feel supported as they learn and grow. Outside of work, Bryanna enjoys going to the beach, crocheting, singing, listening to music, spending time with her family, and hanging out with her cat, Stormy Jean!
