    Bill and Melanie

    Owners
    Bill and Melanie Hyatt, owners of the The Goddard School Simpsonville, SC which opened in June 2006 and The Goddard School Greenville, SC which opened in January 2023. Bill is originally from Greenville, SC but he moved around the east coast before opening a Goddard School. He received his bachelor's degree in Retail Management at the University of South Carolina. He has over 30 years of experience in retail and business operations. Melanie grew up in Hilton Head, SC. She met Bill at University of South Carolina where she received her bachelor's degree in Retail Management and Master of Arts in Marketing Education. She earned an Education certificate in Learning Disabilities at The College of Charleston. Melanie has over 30 years of experience in education where she worked with students of different levels. They combine their love of giving back to others with their experiences of high standards in education. They have three, grown children and two grandchildren who attend Goddard.

    Ms Kim

    Regional Director
    Ms. Kim is originally from North Carolina and moved to Greenville with her family in 2003. Ms. Kim attended Western Carolina University and received a Bachelor's in Sociology and Psychology, with a focus in Child Psychology. Ms. Kim's previous experience includes teaching at a local preschool, Director of a preschool program and Director of the Extended Day Program at Bell's Crossing Elementary. Ms. Kim joined The Goddard School of Simpsonville's management team in 2007. She is now the Regional Director of The Goddard School of Simpsonville, SC and Greenville, SC. She splits her time between these two schools. Ms. Kim mentors other Goddard School Directors around the country and has become an amazing resource for many schools within the franchise. Ms. Kim was recognized for her amazing talents, dedication, and hard work by being awarded the 2017 National Goddard School Director of the Year award.

    Ms Anna

    Director of Operations
    Ms. Anna is from Woodruff, South Carolina. Ms. Anna attended Greenville Technical College where she received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also received numerous credentials from the State of South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development including; The Early Childhood Credential, Director Credential (Level 2 and 3), Special Needs Credential (Level 2), and Preschool Credential (Level 2 and 3). Ms. Anna started working at The Goddard School in 2013. Ms. Anna has over many years of experience working with children of all ages. She was a teacher in our Pre Kindergarten program and later joined the office staff. Ms. Anna was then promoted to Director of Operations of The Goddard School of Simpsonville, SC.

    Director of Education
    Ms. Shawn was born in California but spent most of her younger life in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Missouri Baptist University. Previously, Ms. Shawn worked at The Goddard School in Chesterfield, Missouri. She joined The Goddard School of Simpsonville, SC in 2008 and brought many new ideas and positive experiences from her previous school. Ms. Shawn enjoyed working in our Infant and First Steps classrooms before joining the office team in 2015. She was later promoted to Director of Education at The Goddard School of Simpsonville, SC. Ms. Shawn has been working with children for over 20 years. She loves working with the teachers, students, and parents to make sure all of their needs are being met.

    Administrative Assistant
    Ms. Bailey was born in Columbia, S.C., and she moved to Greenville, S.C. 3 years ago with her husband. Ms. Bailey attended Liberty University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She has been working with children from infants through school age for over 9 years. Ms. Bailey also has experience working with children who have special needs. is passionate about helping children grow and master their developmental milestones in a safe, creative, and fun learning experience. Ms. Bailey’s favorite song is “You Are My Sunshine” and her favorite book is “Goodnight Moon” because it reminds her of her childhood.

    Administrative Assistant
    Ms. CJ grew up in Southwest Michigan and took the chance to move to Greenville after visiting and falling in love with the Carolinas. She attended Hope College in Michigan where she obtained a degree in elementary English language arts degree. Ms. CJ has worked with children for over 10 years ranging in age from 6 months through 15 years old. She has also taught 1st, 2nd, and 7th grade. Ms. CJ is passionate about seeing the joy and silliness each child brings into a classroom while also seeing them grow and develop each day. Ms. CJ loves poetry especially Shel Silverstein as he was her first introduction to poetry back in 4th grade.

    Ms. Emily was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She has 10 years of experience working with infants through school age children. She graduated from Greenville Technical College with her Associate Degree and Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Emily enjoys building relationships with every child and seeing the world through their eyes. Her favorite song is "You Are My Sunshine," because it makes her feel connected with the children when she sings it. Ms. Emily enjoys incorporating different art activities that also involve sensory exploration.

    Jr. Preschool Teacher
    Ms. Carmen is originally from New Jersey. She attended Camden County College in Blackwood, New Jersey where she majored in education. Ms. Carmen moved to South Carolina to be closer to her family. Ms. Carmen starting working at The Goddard School in 2001. She has worked with children of all ages. Ms. Carmen loves to read and sing with the children. She also loves incorporating science and mathematics lessons throughout the day. Ms. Carmen enjoys creating an interactive experience in the classroom and wants to make all children and parents feel comfortable in her classroom.

    Ms. Corrie is originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but she was raised in Greenville, South Carolina. Ms. Corrie attended Virginia College where she received her Certificate in Medical Assistance. She has been working with young children for 3 years. Ms. Corrie is passionate about cultivating and nurturing children in a fun environment while instilling life skills. She believes that every child is unique. Due to this, she thinks it is important to get on a child's level, because it helps to find out who they are as an individual. Ms. Corrie’s favorite book series is Dr. Seuss, because it teaches children creativity and imagination.

    Ms. Courtney is from Greenville, South Carolina. She received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Greenville Technical College. Ms. Courtney started working with infants, toddlers and preschool age children in 2012. She loves watching each child in her classroom grow and learn socially and academically. Ms. Courtney enjoys the children's author Dr. Seuss and the way he pulls children into a whole new world of possibilities. She also loves hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities where children feel that they are playing while learning.

    Ms. Kristina grew up in Norwalk, CT and moved to the Greenville area with her family several years ago. She started working at The Goddard School in 2014. Ms. Kristina received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Spartanburg Community College. She has been working with Preschoolers for over 16 years. Ms. Kristina loves to watch children learn. She believes that each child is unique, and they can learn in different ways. She enjoys implementing a variety of teaching styles into the classroom setting. Ms. Kristina loves Eric Carle books, because he uses colorful illustrations to bring his stories to life. She also enjoys seeing children engaged in her STEAM lessons.

    First Grade Teacher
    Ms. Kendel is originally from Houston, Texas. She moved to Greenville, South Carolina with her family when she was in middle school. Ms. Kendel has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Lander University. She also holds a Master's Degree in Education from Southern Wesleyan University. For over twenty years, Ms. Kendel has been teaching Kindergarten and First Grade and has been teaching at Goddard since 2018. She is passionate about guiding children and helping them discover what they love.

    Ms. Maria is originally from Newberry, South Carolina. She moved to Greenville in 2016 with her husband. Ms. Maria graduated from Erskine College with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with young children for over 11 years and is passionate about finding each child's individual learning style. Ms. Maria has been teaching at Goddard since 2017. Ms. Maria believes that each child needs to be encouraged in a fun, exciting way and challenged by their teachers in order for them to reach the next level of learning.

    Ms. Katie is a Greenville, South Carolina native. She is currently attending Greenville Technical College and working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Katie has been working with young children for over 3 years and is passionate about helping children achieve new goals and skills. Ms. Katie loves seeing children's faces as they explore new environments and materials. She is excited about helping children reach all of their developmental milestones.

    Ms. Mary grew up in Piedmont, SC. She now lives in Greenville, SC. She started working at The Goddard School in 2008. Ms. Mary attended Greenville Technical College where she received a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. For over 18 years, Ms. Mary has been working with children. She has a passion for making circle time fun and small group time engaging. She loves to teach the children new concepts and watch them get excited about learning. Ms. Mary also loves literature. One book she likes sharing with the children is the book series "Pete the Cat" since it teaches great life lessons.

    Ms. Alicea is originally from Massachusetts. She moved to Greenville, SC to be close to her family. Ms. Alicea obtained her diploma from Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Center. She studied American Sign Language for 3 years. She has been working with children 6 weeks through middle school age for 6 years. Ms. Alicea is passionate about helping children learn through play, and she feels this is the best way to help them understand and explore the world. Ms. Alicea’s favorite authors are Dr. Seuss and Mercer Mayer. She loves to implement music, art and sign language lessons throughout the day. Ms. Alicea enjoys communicating with each parent about their child's day.

    Ms. Julie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to South Carolina with her family. Ms. Julie attended Georgia State University where she studied Interior Design. She has over 6 years of experience working with young children. Ms. Julie loves being able to witness her students learn and grow, especially with their social – emotional skills. Ms. Julie loves the author Laura Ingall Wilder, because the values and lessons learned through her stories are timeless.

    Ms. Kelly is originally from North Carolina. She moved to the Greenville area with her family several years ago. Ms. Kelly has obtained her Certificate in Creating Healthy Lifestyles for Young Children. Ms. Kelly has been working with young children for over 14 years and is passionate about caring for young children. She loves to watch them learn and grow in the classroom and treasures her role in their development. Ms. Kelly loves the children's author Dr. Seuss because of the deeper meaning that he conveys through his silly stories.

    Ms. Kayla is originally from Saluda, South Carolina. She moved to the Greenville area with her family. Ms. Kayla attends Greenville Technical College where she is taking Early Childhood Education classes as well as working towards her degree in Occupational/Speech Therapy. For over 6 years, she has been working with young children ranging from infants to two years of age. Ms. Kayla loves being a part of each child’s development and enjoys watching them grow through the program. Ms. Kayla loves any literature/songs that teach the children good values, as well as making them smile as she reads or sings. Ms. Kayla is very creative herself, and she enjoys seeing children create their own art.

    Ms. Amber was born in Asheville, N.C. and moved to Greenville, S.C. when she was 3 with her family. Ms. Amber attended Western Carolina University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She has been working with school aged children for 9 years. Ms. Amber is passionate about learning the interests of each child and how they are unique in their own way. Ms. Amber’s favorite book series is Dr. Seuss because the children always respond to the rhymes and catchy passages.

    Preschool Teacher
    Ms. Olivia was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. She moved to Greenville with her family in 2000. She earned her Associate degree in Arts from Greenville Technical College. She later received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from USC Upstate. Ms. Olivia has over 10 years of experience working with elementary aged students. Eight of those years were spent teaching Kindergarten – 5th grade at Simpsonville Elementary. Ms. Olivia is passionate about helping her students reach their full potential and helping them figure out what they are passionate about in life. Ms. Olivia’s favorite authors are Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein. This is due to the rhyming, silliness, and the positive messages behind the stories. Ms. Olivia is known for her stimulating STEAM lessons.

    Ms. Simone is originally from Louisiana, but moved to South Carolina after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Ms. Simone obtains her degree through Odyssey Online Learning. Ms. Simone has been working with children ages five to eight years of age for two years now, but found her passion working in our Pre Toddler classroom. Ms. Simone loves helping children learn to their full potential and watching them develop their own personalities. Ms. Simone loves reading the "Three Little Pigs" and speaking in different voices while reading to make the children laugh.

    Jr. Kindergarten Teacher
    Ms. Patricia is originally from Long Island, New York but moved to Greenville, South Carolina in 2018 to be closer to her children and for lower cost of living. Ms. Patricia has been working with children for over 19 years and has experience working with children with special needs. Ms. Patricia's favorite children's book is "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. She loves this book because it teaches children to never give up on what they want to be when they become older.

    Ms. Roxy lives in Lyman, South Carolina and graduated from Greer Middle College Carter High School and Greenville Technical college with her Associate's Degree. Ms. Roxy currently attends USC Upstate where she is studying to obtain her Bachelor's in Child Development and Family Studies. Ms. Roxy has been working with children for over three years and has a passion for working with younger ages. Ms. Roxy loves seeing children grow, smile, learning, and reaching their milestones. Ms. Roxy enjoys "Wheels on the Bus" and Eric Carle books because of the lessons they teach. Ms. Roxy is very creative and enjoys incorporating art into her classroom.

    Ms. Jillian is originally from Boston, Massachusetts but moved to Greenville, South Carolina due to the warmer weather and longer summers. Ms. Jillian graduated from River University with her degree in Early Childhood Education and has over 10 years experience working with infants through four year olds. Ms. Jillian is passionate about creating a safe and healthy environment in the classroom for children to grow and learn. Her favorite children's author is Eric Carl and the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" because of the colorful pictures. Ms. Jillian enjoys playing darts in her free time.

Ms. Jennifer has over six years working with infants and is passionate about creating a positive and loving environment for children to grow. Ms. Jennifer loves to sing "Bingo" in the classroom because it is a great way to interact with the children.

Ms. Belle has been working with children from a young age and loves to make the classroom fun and inviting so that children stay engaged and feel comfortable. Ms. Belle's favorite children's author is Dr. Seuss because his books are creative, imaginative, and engaging. Ms. Belle can speak French and plays the piano.

    Ms. Grace was born in Ethiopia, but grew up in Virginia. She is currently attending Greenville Tech where she is working towards getting her degree in Counseling. Ms. Grace has been working with kids of all ages for over 7 years. She is passionate about finding each child's learning style so that she can make sure each child is reaching their potential. Ms. Grace's favorite author is Eric Carle and she is fluent in American Sign Language.

    Education: Currently studying Early Childhood Education at Greenville Technical College. Mr. Austin is originally from Providence, Rhode Island and moved to this area earlier this year. Mr. Austin studied Early Childhood Education while in Rhode Island and plans to continue this at Greenville Technical College. Mr. Austin loves helping students learn things in new ways through communication and collaboration. He also enjoys cooking in his spare time and during the summer loves to bring his love for food into the classroom through summer camps.

    Ms. Leah is originally from Charlotte, NC, but moved to Greenville, SC to be closer to her fiance. Ms. Leah attended University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received her degree in Psychology and has also obtained her degree in Speech Therapy from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. She has been working with young children for over 2 years. Ms. Leah is passionate about making sure every child feels loved and that they are treated as individuals, each child learns differently and they should be taught how they learn best.

    Support Teacher
    Ms. Lindsey is from Woodruff, South Carolina and loves the area because it is close to her family. Ms. Lindsey graduated from Woodruff High School and Greenville Technical College with her certificate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Special Education. Ms. Lindsey has over four years experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Ms. Lindsey also has experience with providing ABA therapy to children on the Autism Spectrum. Ms. Lindsey is passionate about helping children learn and grow in a nurturing enviornment that allows them to express themselves. Ms. Lindsey's favorite children's author is Laurie Berkner who is a musician that creates music that inspires children to explore their imagination. Ms. Lindsey enjoys playing the piano and guitar in her free time.

    Ms. Hannah is a Greenville, South Carolina native and attended Coastal Carolina University. Ms. Hannah has experience working with young children and is passionate about implementing kindness in the classroom. Ms. Hannah enjoys building connections and trust with each child and their family. Ms. Hannah enjoys Dr. Seuss books because they remind her of her childhood.

    Ms. Maleta is originally from Greenville but has lived in Simpsonville, South Carolina for 10 years. Ms. Maleta attended James F. Byrnes High School where she recieved her high school diploma, Western Carolina where she recieved her Bachelor's of Science, and Grad-Strayer University where she recieved her Master's of Administration and Health Services. Ms. Maleta has been working with children all her life and is one of eight siblings. Ms. Maleta loves incorporating fun activities into the classroom to create a fun, inviting atmosphere and loves the song "If You're Happy and You Know It" because it brightens up the day and room. Ms. Maleta also enjoys singing and playing the drums in her free time.

    Ms. Jennifer is originally from Indiana but moved to Greenville, South Carolina to be closer to her family. Ms. Jennifer majored in Elementary Education and has over 5 years experience working with children. Ms. Jennifer is passionate about bringing literature into the classroom because it opens the door to imagination and allows the children to express themsevles. Ms. Jennifer's favorite children's book is "Winnie the Pooh".

Ms. Julie has over six years experience working with children and has experience working in behavioral health as well. Ms. Julie is passionate about teaching new skills to children and helping them achieve their goals. Ms. Julie's favorite children's author is Shel Silverstein because his poems and books are good at helping children express their feelings and thoughts through song/dance.

Ms. Bella graduated from Mauldin High School and is currently attending Greenville Tech for her Early Childhood Education degree. Ms. Bella has over three years experience working with toddlers. Ms. Bella is passionate about helping children develop and meet their milestones. Ms. Bella loves all children's songs and incorporating them into the classroom daily.

    Ms. Breyana is originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts but moved to South Carolina for the warmer weather. Ms. Breyana graduated from Salve Regina University with a degree in Global Studies and Sociology and Anthropology. Ms. Breyana has been working with children for over a year and has experience working with children 6 months to preschool age. Ms. Breyana is passionate about helping children reach their milestones and fostering independence. Ms. Breyana loves the Pete the Cat series because it discusses a variety of themes that children encounter every day.

    Chef Lisa is originally from Chicago and moved to the Greenville area to be closer to her family. She has over 20 years of experience in the food industry and is excited to bring her love of food to the children in our school. Chef Lisa has Italian roots and has spent many years perfecting recipes that were left to her by her grandmother. She is excited to find recipes that the children enjoy but also encourage them to try new and different foods.

Ms. Michalea attended Greenville Tech where she received her Associates in Art and is currently attending USC for her Bachelors in Psychology. Ms. Michalea has over 2.5 years experience working with children and is passionate about helping children learn in their own way. Ms. Michalea's favorite children's author is Eric Carle because it reminds her of her childhood and they teach good lessons.

Ms. Ebony graduated from Clark Atlanta University and received a bachelor's degree and is continuing education at Greenville Technical College. She has over two years of experience working with children of all ages. Ms. Ebony is passionate about being an integral part in the developmental stages of her students. She feels early childhood years are the most essential years for learning how to interact with others and wants to help them through those key learning moments.

Ms. Olivia has over 7 years experience working with children ages 6 months to 18 years. Ms. Olivia's favorite children's book is "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" because it reminds her of her childhood.
