Director of Education
Melissa holds a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College, a professional certificate from Teachers College, Columbia University for Early Literacy Specialist, and is a certified Responsive Classroom trainer.
Melissa has diverse experience that includes teaching preschool through 3rd grade in progressive school settings. She has also been an instructional coach and professional developer for the Children’s Literacy Initiative.
As Director of Education, she collaborates with teachers on lesson planning, differentiation, and authentic assessments. Melissa serves as a mentor for faculty as they deepen their knowledge of effective teaching practices.
She is passionate about whole child development. Melissa loves partnering with parents to find ways to foster early literacy and math concepts in their children through play-based activities that encourage language development, imagination, problem-solving skills, and empathy.
