STEP UP TO QUALITY - 5 STAR

Ohio's Step Up To Quality system is a voluntary quality rating system for ODJFS licensed childcare programs. It recognizes early care and education programs that exceed quality benchmarks over and above Ohio's licensing standards and makes it easy to find a great childcare and early learning program for your child. Step Up To Quality programs earn one to five stars – the more stars, the better. Each star signals a higher standard of staff qualifications, lower staff to child ratios and the use of assessment tools to plan individualized early learning activities.

DUKE ENERGY STEM SCIENCE PROGRAM

The Duke Energy STEM Science Program, sponsored by 4C and the Duke Energy Foundation, selects eight schools based on their pledge to education, their commitment to quality and their enlistment of a knowledgeable and dedicated teaching faculty. STEM, which stands for: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is designed to showcase the total process of learning – which allows students in the program the chance to think and experiment first to solve a problem, rather than simply memorizing processes and answers.
