We are thrilled to announce the Goddard School is coming to Clarkston! The Goddard School is a renowned Early Childhood Education Program. A leader in the industry, the Goddard School provides the highest standards in safety and education. We are a premier preschool that offers the best preparation for social, physical, and academic success for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. All of this cannot be done without an amazing faculty. Our school is being constructed with children and staff in mind. We have spaces for our management team and teachers to study, lesson plan, and recharge. We promote and support a collaborative work atmosphere for our staff. We attract and retain the best educators by providing them with a supportive & collaborative culture, and the tools they need to be successful in their respective roles.

We are looking for assistant teachers to join our team working with infant, toddler or preschool aged children in a full day childcare and preschool environment!

This is a full-time hourly position. This position has a competitive compensation package which includes benefits, including health insurance, dental, vision, paid holidays, paid time off, tuition discounts and more.


Assistant Teacher Responsibilities

An assistant teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

the ability to understand and support the education program using “learning through play” philosophy;

the ability to interact closely with children at their level;

the ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times;

the ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary);

the ability to understand and comply with the franchisee’s employment policies;

the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents;

the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; and

the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.


Assistant Teacher Requirements

An assistant teacher must meet one of the following educational requirements: 

a private academic teaching certificate for nursery school through kindergarten or early childhood education;

proof of the teacher's current enrollment in a CDA credentialing program;

proof of the teacher's current enrollment in an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education or a related field.

Teacher Responsibilities

·        Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance

·        Establish positive and effective family relations

·        Ensure an effective program, responsive to children’s needs

·        Maintain professional commitment


Lead Teacher Requirements

MUST possess a current CDA, A.A., or B.A. in a child-related field or meet the state requirements for a lead teacher

Must have experience working in an early childhood program

·        Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

·        Self-Motivated and Highly Organized
