Meet Courtney Owner
Welcome to The Goddard School in Millersville!
Hi! I’m Courtney, the On-Site Owner at The Goddard School in Millersville. I have been with the school since it’s opening in 2014 and have been working in childcare since my high school years. Over time, I have held several positions from teacher to director and now owner. Throughout my career, I have earned an associate and bachelor’s degree, hold a level 6 Maryland Credential, and am the President of the Anne Arundel County Chapter of the Maryland State Child Care Association. At home, I am a wife and mom of 2. As a family, we enjoy trips to the beach, camping, and being outdoors!
Here at the Millersville location, we strive to provide quality child care. We are accredited through the Maryland State Department of Education and participate in our state’s quality improvement rating system called Maryland EXCELS. We are committed to standards of excellence while continuously seeking ways to improve.

Infant
6 w - 12 m
In the Infant program, our teachers provide your baby with all the cuddles and care they need with opportunities to begin exploring the world around them.
Toddlers
12 - 24 m
As your little one rapidly develops physically and cognitively, our Toddler classroom is where their natural curiosity is fostered and their budding skills are nurtured.
Twos
2 - 3 yrs
In the Twos classroom, experienced, caring teachers guide your child through playful exploration, helping navigate big emotions while providing hands-on learning experiences that nurture their innate curiosity.
Bridge
2.5 - 3.5 yrs
As your child continues to gain independence, build self-care skills and learn more about themselves, the Bridge classroom provides the support they need to thrive in a preschool setting.
Preschool
3 - 4 yrs
In our Preschool classroom, your child starts their journey into a cooperative learning environment where they can discover interests and learn in a more structured setting.
Pre-K

Amazing! Our son comes home so happy everyday and is constantly learning new things while at Goddard Millersville. They create well thought out lesson plans catered to the age and the whole Goddard environment is overall very positive. Highly recommend!
Our family has always felt very supported by The Goddard School of Millersville. The teachers, directors, and owner feel like an extension of our family, and we're incredibly grateful for the care and learning opportunities they've provided our children.
Family environment. We have 1 child still in and 1 that has graduated to Kindergarten. We feel Goddard did an excellent job preparing our oldest for Kindergarten. The transition was seamless.

NAEYC ACCREDITED
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredits early childhood programs according to health, safety and education standards. The standards are intended to provide a reliable and accountable accreditation system to encourage the field of early childhood education to strive for a new level of excellence.
MARYLAND ACCREDITATION
Maryland Accreditation is a voluntary process of program assessment that examines all aspects of quality in educational environments for young children including curriculum, interactions between teachers and children, health and safety, family engagement and professional preparation and development of faculty.
MARYLAND EXCELS
LEVEL 5
Maryland EXCELS is a voluntary Quality Rating and Improvement System that awards ratings (up to 5 stars) to family providers, center-based and public school child care programs, and school age before and after school programs that meet increasingly higher standards of quality in key areas.
CHILD CARE AWARE®
Child Care Aware is the nation's most respected hub of information for parents and child care providers. A program of Child Care Aware of America, Child Care Aware helps families learn more about the elements of quality child care and how to locate programs in their communities. Child Care Aware also provides child care providers with access to resources for their child care programs.
MARYLAND STATE CHILD CARE ASSOCIATION
The Maryland State Child Care Association (MSCCA) is the premiere professional association for licensed child care and early learning centers operating in Maryland. Members are committed to providing the highest levels of cognitive, social/emotional, and physical development in safe and secure environments for the children entrusted to their care.
DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR
The Director of the Year Award is given to a Goddard School director who illustrates educational leadership, is a mentor to other faculty members at the School and helps create an atmosphere that encourages children to experience the most genuine form of learning.
