Welcome to The Goddard School of River West! I am honored to open this school and excited to create something very special for our community. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for every child and family in a warm, welcoming environment where children feel valued, families feel supported, and learning is meaningful and fun. For the past 23 years, I have proudly called this neighborhood home. My husband, Scott, and I have raised our three children here, giving me a firsthand understanding of the importance of a safe, nurturing place where children build confidence, explore their curiosity, and develop a love of learning. As a former teacher with a Master's Degree in Education, I have always been passionate about helping children learn, grow, and discover their unique strengths. I look forward to building a strong partnership with your family and providing an extraordinary early childhood education experience!

Laurel Flanigan earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and brings more than 15 years of experience in early childhood education. Laurel has lived in Chicago ten years and has worked with children from infancy through Pre-K, developing a particular passion for preschool education. Committed to lifelong learning, Laurel pursued her master's degree from Bradley University, strengthening her expertise in education and leadership. In 2022, she transitioned into educational leadership, bringing her classroom experience into school management. As Executive Director of The Goddard School of River West, Laurel is dedicated to supporting children, building meaningful relationships with families, and partnering with educators to create exceptional learning experiences. Laurel's love for education was inspired by her Nana, an exceptional teacher whose kindness and creativity shape her educational philosophy and leadership style today!
