    Brittany Buttrey brings a strong background in business management & community engagement to her role as Managing Partner at The Goddard School of Athens. An Oconee native & UGA Grad, she has built her career around supporting educational & service-based organizations through efficient operations, clear communication, & people-first leadership. Brittany is passionate about creating meaningful experiences & relationships with local families. Her professional experience includes hospitality leadership as well as entrepreneurship, business & government administration, & non-profit work. Outside of work, she enjoys making memories with her husband & young daughter, who is a student of the flagship class of Goddard Athens! She especially loves working in environments that center children & families, & believes every child deserves to be valued & supported. Brittany is honored to be part of the team building a much-needed learning institution for the families in the Oconee/Athens area.

    Nicole is a dedicated early childhood educator who holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Care and Education. With 10 years of experience in early childhood education, she is passionate about supporting young learners and fostering a positive, nurturing environment where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with children with varying needs, allowing her to build strong, meaningful relationships with both children and families. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places, roller skating, and visiting the beach.

    Monica has a passion for working with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued and encouraged to grow. With experience as a nanny, in early childhood education, and supporting school operations, she enjoys assisting teachers, supporting the office, and helping create a positive experience for children, families, and staff. As a mother and one of eight siblings, Monica understands the importance of building meaningful relationships with each child and family. She also has a professional background in health and fitness and enjoys encouraging movement, healthy habits, and confidence in children. Monica is proud to be part of The Goddard School of Athens!

    Curriculum Coordinator
    Gabby has over 10 years of experience in early childhood education and a deep passion for helping young children learn and grow. She began her journey in a Montessori school in Chicago and started working in an infant classroom at age 16. Since then, she has worked with children from six weeks through kindergarten and has grown into leadership and curriculum-focused roles. Gabby and her husband moved to Athens in 2021, and she graduated from the University of Georgia in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science, focusing on Early Childhood Education and Parental Guidance. As the Curriculum Coordinator, Gabby is excited to support teachers, strengthen learning experiences, and be part of the Goddard team!

    Two's & Bridge Resource Teacher
    Ms. Danielle is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she began working with children at the age of 16 as a babysitter. She has called Athens, Georgia home for the past five years, gaining valuable experience in local childcare facilities and serving as a nanny and babysitter for multiple families in the area. Her favorite part of working with children is watching them grow into their own unique individuals and discover new things along the way. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Danielle loves animals and is a proud pet parent to five of her own. She also enjoys hiking in the North Georgia mountains during her free time. She is excited to work with your little ones and build meaningful, lasting relationships with families.

    Ms. Kizzy is a lifelong Athens, Georgia resident and brings 19 years of experience in childcare. As a mother of two adult daughters, Kizzy has a deep appreciation for nurturing and supporting children as they learn and grow. She is passionate about creating a caring and positive environment for the children in her care. Outside of work, Kizzy enjoys fishing, bowling, and traveling. She also loves pasta and fresh fruit! Kizzy is excited to continue her journey in early childhood education and be part of the Goddard family!

    With 25 years of experience in childcare and early childhood education, Ms. Marie has worked in a variety of roles throughout her career, with a special passion for working with infants. As a mother of six children, she understands how precious the early years are and the importance of creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. Currently completing her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Ms. Marie is excited to bring her experience, education, and genuine love for children to her role as Assistant Infant Teacher at The Goddard School of Athens. She values building strong relationships with families and is honored to partner with parents to ensure every child feels loved, understood, and cared for.

    Harmoni has felt called to care for children for as long as she can remember. She has always known that working with children—especially infants—is what she was meant to do. Watching little ones explore their world and reach new milestones brings her endless joy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently pursuing her master’s degree to further support and advocate for children and families. Harmoni is excited to be part of The Goddard School of Athens village and looks forward to partnering with families on this meaningful journey of growth, learning, and connection.

    Ciara is a dedicated educator with 11 years of professional experience in childcare and early childhood education. Her passion for teaching began withing her own community, where caring for younger family members and neighborhood children inspired her love for mentorship and education. This early experience led to a rewarding career focused on creating nurturing, engaging and supportive environments where young children can thrive. Throughout her career, Ciara has remained committed to helping children grow, build confidence, and reach their full potential. She is passionate about making a positive impact and helping shape the future, one child at a time.

    Infant Resource Teacher
    Ms. Brennen is a tenured childcare professional with more than seven years of hands-on experience supporting and educating young learners. Throughout her career, she has traveled across the United States and internationally, teaching students of various ages while adapting to diverse cultures and learning environments. In addition to her background in education, Brennen has extensive experience in the performing arts, including singing, acting, and dance. She enjoys incorporating creativity and the arts into the classroom at The Goddard School of Athens to enrich children’s learning experiences. Brennen looks forward to creating memorable, engaging, and inspiring moments for every child he works with.

    Ms. Delayne is a dedicated educator who believes every child has a unique spark worth discovering. She is passionate about creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Through a compassionate and student centered approach. Delayne strives to support each child's academic, social, and personal growth. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys painting and pottery, exploring new ideas, and finding inspiration, in the world around her. She is committed to making leaning meaningful, memorable, and most importantly, something every child can enjoy and look forward to.

    Ms. Khaija has over five years of experience working with and caring for young children and is currently pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education at Georgia Military College. Raising an energetic and ambitious 3-year-old has given her an even deeper appreciation for childhood development and curriculum. Her passion for helping children learn and grow stems from having amazing teachers who helped push her. She loves watching children explore the world around them, develop their personalities, and gain confidence as they grow and learn new things. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and spending quality time with her family. Khaija believes every child should feel loved, valued, and respected. Her classroom environment is rooted in nurturing relationships and emotional safety, and is welcoming for both students and their families.

    With 3 years of childcare experience and a lifelong role as the family babysitter, Ta'jah has always had a natural passion for caring for little ones. Growing up helping with younger siblings and cousins helped shape her nurturing and patient approach in the classroom. She loves creating a warm, supportive environment where toddlers can learn, play, and feel safe every day.

    Toddler 2 Lead Teacher
    Ms. Ruby earned her degree in Behavioral Science from the University of North Georgia and began her career in early childhood education in 2020. She previously taught with with Clarke County Schools and is passionate about supporting young learners as they grow, learn, and succeed. As a bilingual educator, Ruby enjoys incorporating different languages and cultures into the classroom to create an inclusive, engaging, and welcoming learning environment. Outside of school, Ruby enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter, Catalina, as well as traveling and exploring new cultures and experiences. She looks forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and meaningful connections with her students and families.

    Toddler 2 Assistant Teacher
    Ms. Lindsey is excited to be part of each infant’s journey at the school. She has extensive experience caring for children, including working in nursery settings, babysitting, and helping raise her three younger siblings. Caring for babies holds a special place in her heart, as she believes they are fragile, innocent, and full of wonder—deserving of protection, nurturing, and patience every step of the way. Supporting young children truly makes her heart smile. Outside of the classroom, Lindsey enjoys watching movies, journaling, painting, cooking, and especially baking. She looks forward to building meaningful relationships with families and spending each day with their little treasures.

    Ms. Lily is excited to join the team as a Toddler Resource Teacher! She brings four years of childcare experience and a genuine passion for working with young children. Working with children has always been meaningful to Lily. She enjoys creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and build confidence. She especially loves singing songs, reading books, and engaging with children in hands-on play that encourages curiosity and creativity. Outside of work, Lily enjoys writing, singing, and decorating. She looks forward to getting to know the children and families at Goddard and creating many happy memories together!

    Ms Marie is a dedicated Preschool Educator with more than 12 years of experience in early childhood education. She is passionate about creating nurturing, engaging classrooms where children feel supported, valued, and encouraged to grow. Marie hods a TCC in Early Childhood Care and Education and focuses on play-based learning, social and emotional development, and building a kind classroom community. She strives to make every child feel welcomed and special from day one. Outside of school, Marie enjoys spending time with her four daughters, care for her pet bunny, Cinnamon, and exploring nature through hiking.

    Two's Assistant Teacher
    Kayla has a passion for working with children and finds great joy in watching them learn, grow, and thrive. She has more than a decade of experience caring for children, beginning with babysitting for family and friends and later gaining experience caring for children at the ballpark and through three years of babysitting. Kayla is currently completing her degree in Elementary Education and looks forward to continuing to grow as an educator while creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment for the children she serves.

    Bridge Lead Teacher
    Ms. Laura is excited to join the Goddard Family! She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Psychology and a Master's Degree from Arizona State University. Laura brings experience as an Early Childhood Ministry Director, homeschool educator, and tutor, with a passion for fostering curiosity, communication, and emotional growth. Originally from Brazil, Laura has also taught ESL and enjoys dancing. She and her husband, A University of Georgia professor, have three children. Laura looks forward to creating a nurturing, enriching environment for our students!

    Bridge Assistant Teacher
    Ms. Mary is a native of Athens and attended the University of Georgia, where she majored in Fashion Merchandising. After spending 16 years as a stay-at-home mom raising her three sons, she is excited to begin this new chapter in education. Mary has a special passion for working with the children in our Twos classroom. She loves helping these young learners grow, explore, build confidence, and celebrate new milestones each day. Outside the classroom, Mary enjoys cheering on her sons at their baseball, football, and tennis events. In her free time, she loves interior design, flower gardening, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity. She is thrilled to be part of The Goddard School family and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with the children and families in her care.

    Preschool Lead Teacher
    Ms. Laniya has been passionate about education since fifth grade and has five years of experience in early childhood education. She began her journey working in local early learning centers while in high school and earned her Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education through Athens Technical College. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Science at the University of North Georgia. Laniya is dedicated to creating engaging, supportive classrooms where students can grow with confidence and curiosity. Outside the classroom, Laniya enjoys cooking, traveling, gardening, volunteering, and spending time with her family.

    Preschool Co-Assistant Teacher
    Ms. Anne Marie has nearly a year of experience as a preschool teacher and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. She finds working with children incredibly rewarding and especially enjoys watching them learn, grow, and discover the world around them. Anne Marie believes in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive while taking the time to understand each child’s unique learning style and needs. Outside the classroom, she enjoys listening to music, learning new languages, going on walks, cooking, and journaling. She looks forward to supporting and celebrating each student’s growth and development.

    Ms. Janica brings five years of experience in childcare, working with children of all ages. Janica is currently attending college while continuing her career in early childhood education. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and spending time outdoors. She is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families and is excited to be part of the Goddard family.

    Coach Cayden is a current Early Childhood Education major at the University of Pheonix as well as a young husband and father! As a Resource Teacher, Cayden helps in a variety of classrooms and support roles throughout the school - including, and perhaps most importantly, as your child's daily Physical Education & Movement Specialist! Cayden accompanies classes during Active Play to promote a safe, enriching, and educational environment. Cayden is proud to be the father of Goddard Student as well! He is thrilled to serve our Goddard Athens Village as well as work alongside an inspiring, experienced group of educators. Being a part of this community both personally and professionally means so much to him!

    Ms. Karen is excited to join the Goddard Family as a Pre-K Lead Teacher.  She has BS degrees in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Emory University.  Karen has 26+ years of experience teaching children ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade.  At a very young age, Karen knew she wanted to be both a mother and a teacher.  She is blessed to be both.  She was born in the Atlanta area and has resided in Athens for the past six years.

    Ms. Ashley is excited to join The Goddard School of Athens as a Pre-K Assistant Teacher! She holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Care and Education and is fluent in both English and Spanish. As a passionate and enthusiastic educator, Ashley is eager to begin her teaching journey and make a positive impact on each child’s learning experience. She is committed to creating a loving, engaging, and safe classroom environment where children feel supported, confident, and excited to learn.

    Originally from Colombia, Ms. Bri began working with young children at age 16, inspiring a lifelong passion for early childhood education. With more than 15 years of experience in Colombia and the United States, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a graduate specialization in Comprehensive Child and Adolescent Development. This fall, she will begin her Master of Arts in Teaching in Birth Through Five Special Education at the University of Georgia. Ms. Bri is passionate about creating a warm, inclusive, and joyful classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. She is excited to join The Goddard School of Athens and build meaningful relationships with its children and families. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her two children, exploring new places, and making memories with family and friends.

    Brynn is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Museum Studies at the University of Georgia and brings four years of experience working in a variety of classroom settings. Brynn is passionate about combining her love of teaching with her experience in exhibit design to create inspiring, engaging environments for children and families. She is excited to contribute her creativity and experience to the Goddard community!

    Akshi is thrilled to be able to provide The Goddard School’s outstanding program to the children & families in the Athens-Watkinsville community. “Our mission is to create a better world through early childhood education. Every day we embrace this mission by working to create an environment where children can learn, grow & thrive." Akshi's connection to Goddard School runs deep. Akshi joined the Goddard School family as an administrator. This firsthand experience inspired her & her husband to open & own their first Goddard School in 2018. Her family wholeheartedly believes in the Goddard School's approach, a belief reinforced by her sons' positive experiences as graduates of the program. Beyond the School, Akshi’s family cherishes time spent watching baseball & basketball, exploring nature through hiking, & broadening their horizons through travel & diverse culinary adventures. You'll often find Akshi & her husband enthusiastically supporting their boys on the baseball field.

    Viral is thrilled to be able to provide The Goddard School’s outstanding program to the children & families in the Athens-Watkinsville community. Viral had the vision for opening a Goddard School over a dozen years ago when he and his wife were searching for quality childcare for their son. Since that time, he has opened three additional schools, became a Goddard Circle of Excellence Franchisee*, and has had both of his kids start their Goddard journey as infants through graduation at his schools. In their spare time, Viral’s family enjoys watching SEC & ACC football & basketball, playing golf, CrossFit & travelling with family and friends. *Goddard Circle of Excellence is awarded to the top 5% of all Goddard franchisees nationwide based on highest parent satisfaction responses, and maintaining rigorous education, health and safety standards.
