    My name is Taylor Pope and I am the on-site owner of The Goddard School in Washington, DC at The Wharf! I am a third-generation franchisee, originally from the Hampton Roads area of VA where my family currently owns one other Goddard School (Virginia Beach “Lynnhaven”) . I attended Marymount University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. My wife Ashley and I met at Marymount and currently live in Alexandria with our amazing daughter, Lyla, and our two dogs - Penelope and Nelson. Lyla was born in July 2022, and she is currently enrolled in the School's First Step's program. She loves to commute to and from the School on a daily basis with her "Dada"! We NOW have TWO locations OPEN at The Wharf - 652 Maine Ave. (Infants - 24 months) with an indoor playground and 910 7th St. (2 years - 5 years) with a private outdoor play area! We are excited to continue enrolling more families into our wonderful School community we have created since first opening in 2019!

    Hi, I'm Nita. I am the Director of Operations over Phase I and II. I have worked with children ages 0-5 years old for over 20 years in various capacities. My degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood from Kaplan University. I have a passion for children and creating an amazing learning experience for them. I enjoy working with children because they teach me to slow down and enjoy the little things. You will find me in the classrooms often building with blocks, drawing pictures, dancing or reading books. I am a native Washingtonian. I have a daughter who is in college studying veterinary medicine. My favorite children's book is "Oh The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss.

    I am the infant/toddler team lead at The Goddard School. I love working with children because I get the opportunity to see them grow and be prepared for the upcoming journey of life. Coaching and mentoring teammates is a passion of mine. Great teachers create great environments for children to learn, be creative, and grow! I look forward to working with families and strengthening the brand of The Goddard School in Washington, DC. My favorite children’s book is "Whoever You Are" by Mem Fox.

My mission for the new Goddard location is to create a high quality, positive environment for my team, our children, and their families. I am a native Washingtonian and mother of four beautiful children. My favorite children's book is "Do Not Open This Book" by Andy Lee.
