Our Teachers

Mr. Scott is an Indiana/ Michigan native who recently relocated to Arizona as the new Owner of The Goddard School Scottsdale (GSS). Scott has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education with over 20 years experience in the public school system as a teacher and administrator. Scott felt an immediate connection to Goddard’s philosophy of fostering a lifelong love of learning in children through play and inquiry-based teaching, which provides a fun and safe environment for young minds to grow. He is committed to creating a learning environment where ALL children are welcomed, loved, and nurtured, boasting that every child will be kindergarten ready before Goddard graduation. Mr. Scott's vision for the school is to CONNECT children, educators, and parents in a community of TRUST, so that together we can create an educational environment that allows us to THRIVE both now and into the future!

Ms. Bettina is originally from Illinois and her family moved to Arizona 7 years ago. Ms. Bettina has 4 children, two young men (28 & 25) and twin young ladies (19). Ms. Bettina has been in the Early Childcare industry for over 25 years as a teacher, Assistant Director and now the Education Co-Director at The Goddard School. Ms. Bettina is currently working on her Bachelors in Arts Degree, has her Center Directors Certificate and 20 years classroom experience.

Ms. Emerson is our lead teacher for our twos classroom, the Hot Dogs. Before working at Goddard, she worked for an after school program. Her favorite book is Love You Forever and in her free time she likes to swim, dance and write poetry. Ms. Emerson is currently working toward her bachelor's in early childhood education.

Ms. Lixia has been with The Goddard School for 4 years. She started in the toddler classroom and has moved with those same children all the way up to preschool! Her favorite book is Pete the Cat and likes to spend time with her family, cook and watch TV in her free time. Ms. Lixia is also fluent in Mandarin and loves to teach it to her students!

Ms. Mariah has over four years of experience in Early Childcare and is the lead teacher in our infant room. Her favorite book is A Mother For Choco and in her free time she likes to swim and play tennis.

Ms. Tracy has been with The Goddard School for 11 years and has over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Her favorite children's book is Good Night Moon and she likes to watch sports in her free time.
