Bill and Melanie Hyatt, Owners Melanie is originally from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and she currently lives in the Simpsonville area with her husband, Bill, and their three sons who attend high school and college. Melanie attended The University of South Carolina where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Management and Master of Arts in Teaching Degree in Marketing Education. She later took additional graduate courses at the College of Charleston, which allowed her to add a Certification in Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities on to her M.A.T Degree. Melanie has several years of experience teaching students at different ages, at different levels, and different subject matters (preschool, elementary, high school, and college levels). She also owned and operated a very successful, small business before deciding to open a Goddard School. Melanie has worked with many non-profit organizations over the years. She combines her love of giving back to others with her experience with high standards with education. Melanie and her husband, Bill, opened The Goddard School in June of 2006. Melanie works on-site at the school daily. Her role is to make sure the faculty and management team members are providing a safe and nurturing environment where the children are having fun while learning.

Bill Hyatt is originally from the Greenville area. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of South Carolina. Bill is in charge of the business operations of The Goddard School of Simpsonville, SC and is on-site every day at the school. As a leader of various organizations throughout his 20-year career, Bill brings a wide range of business development and management expertise to his role. He spent many of those years opening up new markets and stores in the retail sector located along the east coast. Bill has also enjoyed working with youth leadership and recreational organizations for the past 15 years. This allows him to spend quality time with his boys as well as help others in the community. Even though he is in charge of the business operations of the school, Bill enjoys staying connected with the Goddard families and faculty. Bill and Melanie are happy that they decided to combine their lifelong dream of owning their own business with their love for education and children. They both look forward to getting to know your family and seeing your children grow here at The Goddard School.

Ms Kim, Director
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology

Ms. Kim Groves is originally from North Carolina and moved to Greenville with her family in 2003. Ms. Kim joined our management team in 2007 when we expanded our facility.. Ms. Kim attended Western Carolina University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Psychology, with a focus in Child Psychology. Ms. Kim's previous experience includes teacher at a local preschool for five years, Director of a preschool program and Director of the Extended Day Program at Bell's Crossing Elementary in Greenville County. Ms. Kim is currently our Goddard School Director. She does a great job of maintaining an active system of parent-school communication to promote a strong relationship between the two and planning and implementing a program for teachers' professional growth. Ms. Kim also mentors other Goddard Directors around the country and has become an amazing resource for many other schools within our Franchise. Ms. Kim was recognized for amazing talents, dedication, and hard work by being awarded the National Goddard School Director of the Year for 2017.

Ms Tina - Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Director
Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education

Ms. Tina is originally from England and moved to South Carolina with her family in 2002. Ms. Tina has worked at The Goddard School since 2006 and earned her Associates Degree from Greenville Technical College in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Tina has worked with young children for over 15 years. Ms. Tina taught many age groups before joining our management team as the Curriculum Coordinator. During her time as our Curriculum Coordinator, Ms. Tina has been instrumental in launching our STEAM program which includes activities that are done in the classroom as well as extra-curricular activities. Ms. Tina's passion is see the children move through the school growing and learning as they mature into Kindergarteners and join our after school program.

Ms Anne - Infant, Lead Teacher
Education: Studied Management Marketing at Greenville Technical College

Ms. Anne grew up right here in Greenville, SC where she met her husband and also raised her two children. Ms. Anne starting working at The Goddard School in 2007 and has been teaching young children for over 12 years. Ms. Anne has experience working with all ages but is currently working in our Infant classroom. She loves to see the children grow and develop and also loves knowing that she is making a difference in each child's life. Ms. Anne loves the Click, Clack, Moo series of children's books written by Doreen Cronin because of the fun rhyming words that capture the children's attention.

Ms. Jasmine was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to South Carolina with her family when she was 9 years old. Ms. Jasmine graduated from USC Upstate with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Jasmine has been working with young children for over 6 years and is passionate about including learning in the classroom. Ms. Jasmine loves to sing and read books with the children and the babies love it too.

Education: Associate Degree in Medical Sciences

Ms. Kathy is a native of Wisconsin and moved to Greenville with her family in 2005. Ms. Kathy started working at The Goddard School in 2006 and enjoyed working with children in different age groups before joining us in the office. Ms. Kathy received her degree in Medical Sciences at Spencerian College. After moving to Charlotte, NC, Ms. Kathy worked at a private school, as a kindergarten teacher assistant for 15 years. Ms. Kathy loves to see the children as they grow and move through our school, she also loves to see all the skills they gain along the way.

Ms. Shawn brought to our Goddard School team many new ideas and positive experiences from the The Goddard School in Chesterfield, Missouri. Ms. Shawn started working at The Goddard School in 2008 and holds her degree in Early Childhood Education from Missouri Baptist University. Ms. Shawn has been working with your children for over 16 years. Ms. Shawn enjoyed working in our Infant and First Steps classrooms before joining us in the office in 2015.

Ms Annie - Infant , Lead Teacher
Education: Certificate in Early Childhood Development

Ms. Annie was born in Ingolstadt, Germany. In 1997, after marrying and having two children, she moved to the United States and began working in the childcare setting. Ms. Annie started working at The Goddard School when we opened in 2006. She obtained her Certificate in Early Childhood Development. Ms. Annie is fluent in German and does a wonderful job of helping German students and families feel welcome by translating when needed. Ms. Annie currently works with our Infants but is always willing to help translate for other classrooms too.

Ms. Blair is from Simpsonville, South Carolina and started working at The Goddard School in 2008. Ms. Blair has experience teaching children of all ages, but has a special place in her heart for Infants. Ms. Blair has been working with young children for over 10 years and loves to watch the children as they grow and move through our school. Many of our families still come back down the hallway to visit Ms. Blair.

Ms. Rebecca is originally from Albany, New York and moved to Greenville for the beautiful weather and hot summers. Ms. Rebecca graduated from Maria College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with a wide variety of age groups for over 13 years, but her passion is working with Infants. Ms. Rebecca loves the children's author, Anna Dewdney, because of her descriptive illustrations that capture the attention of young children.

Ms. Brittany has travelled and lived all over the United States as her father was in the Army. Ms. Brittany attended Greenville Technical College where she earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with young children for over 7 years and has a love for teaching. Ms. Brittany enjoys using books as a way to introduce children to new places, concepts, and cultures. She is also a great actress and often participates in local plays and theater.

Ms. Dominique is from Columbia, SC. She moved to the Greenville area and started working at The Goddard School in 2014. Ms. Dominique received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and has over 5 years of experience working with children of all ages. Ms. Dominique has a passion and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students. She also has a soft spot for the children's author Dr. Seuss as she heard those stories as a child herself.

Ms. T'Andria is originally from the Upstate and graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. T'Andria has been working with both Infants and Toddlers for 6 years and is passionate about making a connection with each child. Ms. T'Andria loves to spend time interacting and helping each child grow. She loves to sing and read to the children, and believes they learn best through exposure to language and music and movement.

Ms. Carmen is originally from New Jersey and moved to South Carolina to be closer to her family. Ms. Carmen starting working at The Goddard School in 2001 and has a passion for working with Toddlers. Ms. Carmen attended Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ where she studied Education and loves to read and sing with the children. Ms. Carmen enjoys creating an interactive experience in the classroom and wants to make all children and parents feel comfortable in her classroom.

Ms. Christie is originally from Indiana and relocated to Greenville in 2015 to help with her family.. Ms. Christie started working at The Goddard School in 2005 while in Indiana. Ms. Christie earned her Child Development Associate Credential at Ivy Tech and has worked with young children for over 20 years. Ms. Christie loves seeing each child reach milestones in their own time and celebrating each accomplishment with their families.

Ms. Brittany has over 7 years of experience working with children under the age of five. Ms. Brittany loves being able to see the children grow and develop as she helps them acquire the skills they need to become successful. Ms. Heather started working at The Goddard School in 2014 after receiving her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Greenville Technical College. Ms. Heather loves implementing hands on activities in the classroom that allow the child to really grasp what they are learning about. She is also passionate about helping children to learn in a variety of ways so they can be adaptable and successful as adults in a business environment. Ms. Anna is from Woodruff, South Carolina and started working at The Goddard School in 2013. Ms. Anna attended Greenville Technical College where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has also received numerous credentials from the State of South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development including; The Early Childhood Credential, Director Credential (Level 2 and 3), Special Needs Credential (Level 2), and Preschool Credential (Level 2 and 3). Ms. Anna has over 6 years of experience in the field working with children ranging from Toddlers to School Age. Ms. Anna loves to decorate the classroom and get creative with displaying the children's artwork. She really enjoys watching the children learn and grow throughout the school year. Ms. Anna's favorite author and illustrator Eric Carle because of his vibrant "child-like" illustrations.

Ms. Ashlee is originally from Delaware and moved here with her family several years ago. In 2016 Ms. Ashlee implements a social/emotional unit in her classroom that has caused her to win The National Goddard School Teacher of the Year Award. She will be presenting this social/emotional project at The South Carolina NAYC Convention later this year. Ms. Ashlee received her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Physical Education and Psychology from USC Upstate. Ms. Ashlee has worked with children of all ages for over 6 years. She loves to create an environment where children are free to be themselves, ask questions, and have fun. This provides them with opportunities to learn and grow. Ms. Ashlee loves to share Dr. Seuss books with children because they are so silly and have children laughing within minutes.

Ms. Maria believes that each child needs to be encouraged and challenged by their teachers in order for them to reach the next level of learning.

Ms. Courtney is originally from Deland, Florida and moved to Greenville with her husband earlier this year. Ms. Courtney attended Stetson University where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Education. Ms. Courtney has been working with young children for over 7 years and is passionate about making sure the children are active and having fun while they are here. Ms. Courtney played and coached softball while in college so she loves to incorporate her love for sports in the classroom as well.

Ms. Elise is originally from Miami, Florida and moved here with her family several years ago. Ms. Elise studied Special Education at Greenville Technical College before transferring to USC Upstate to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Elise has been working with school age children for over 4 years and is passionate about making sure each child has the best possible experience while in her care. Ms. Elise is fluent in Spanish and is very musically talented.

Ms. Felicia is originally from Hawesville, Kentucky and moved to Greenville with her family in 2014. Ms. Felicia graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music. She has been working with children for over 2 years through camps, being a substitute, and teaching voice lessons. Ms. Felicia is very passionate about incorporating the Arts into the classroom, and loves to get children singing and dancing.

Ms. Haley grew up right here in Greenville, SC and has always had a love for young children. Ms. Haley loves to build relationships with her students and helping them feel safe, secure, and loved in way that enables them to learn. Ms. Haley enjoys the children's book "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn because of the reassurance that it provides children.

She worked primarily with children with special needs and assisted them in following their IEP's. Ms. Kristi has worked with children of all ages and loves seeing children use their imagination and creativity to make new discoveries in the classroom. Ms. Kristi loves the author Margaret Wise Brown and also enjoys using sign language in the classroom.

Ms. Marianne is from Salzburg, Austria, where The Sound of Music was filmed. She moved to America over 30 years ago with her husband and three children. Ms. Marianne started working at The Goddard School in 2014. She graduated from Landwirtschaftliche Fachschule in Austria with an Associates Degree in Domestic Arts. Ms. Marianne taught at a Montessori school for ten years and has experience working with children 3-6 years of age. Ms. Marianne's favorite part of teaching is to see their joy as they learn new things and progress from dependency toward capable and self-confident children.

Education: Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy

Ms. Aimee is from New York and has lived all over the country with her Husband who is in the Coast Guard. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz with her Master's Degree and Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy. Ms. Aimee has worked with children for over 14 years and previously taught at other Goddard Schools around the country. Ms. Aimee loves to bring fun and silly songs and games into the classroom to make learning more exciting for the children. She loves to use Laurie Berkner songs such as "Drive My Car," because they are such good conversation starters that get the children thinking.

Ms. Chelsea grew up right here in Greenville, South Carolina and started working at The Goddard School in 2012. Ms. Chelsea graduated from Greenville Technical College with her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Throughout college Ms. Chelsea has worked with young children for over 13 years and spent 2 years working with children with Autism in the aspect of behavioral therapy. She aspires to continue her education in the realm of Special Needs Education while working with our School Age students. Ms. Chelsea loves to spend her weekends with her husband and daughter, Journey.

Ms Sue - Pre-Kindergarten, Assistant Teacher
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Secondary Education

Ms. Sue is originally from Albany, NY and moved to sunny South Carolina to enjoy the beautiful, warm weather. She graduated from Potsdam State University in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Secondary Education. Ms. Sue has been working with young children for over 25 years, but has the most experience with three and four year olds. Ms. Sue is very passionate about interacting with children and providing them with an organized learning environment. She loves Dr. Seuss and how his songs and rhyming engage the children.

Ms Taylor - School Age, Assistant Teacher
Education: Working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Ms. Taylor is originally from Hershey, PA and moved to Greenville with her family when she was six years old. Ms. Taylor started working at The Goddard School in 2014 and is currently studying Early Childhood Education at USC Upstate. Ms. Taylor has been working with children of many ages for over 4 years and loves watching the children grow and learn as they discover new things.
