Our Goddard School Teachers

I’ve proudly owned and operated The Goddard School of Friendswood since we opened our doors in 2008, but my connection to the school goes much deeper. Building this school was a personal commitment—rooted in my love for family and my belief that every child deserves a warm, nurturing place to learn and grow. As a parent of two Goddard graduates, I understand firsthand how important a safe and supportive early-learning environment is. My dual perspective as both an owner and a parent shapes the empathy, care, and high standards I bring to the school every day. I hold a Bachelor of Science in General Science from the University of Oregon, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. I lead with heart, humility, and a dedication to creating a place where children feel safe, supported, and inspired. Our Goddard School proudly serves the communities of Friendswood, League City, Pearland, and Alvin.

In my role, I strive to be a dependable and caring connection for families—ensuring communication between school and home is always thoughtful, timely, and meaningful. Every conversation, update, and interaction is an opportunity to support families and help their children feel safe, understood, and celebrated. I collaborate closely with our teachers and staff to create a warm, nurturing, and high-quality environment where children can grow and thrive. My Bachelor of Science in Biology provides a strong academic foundation for understanding child development, and being a parent of two Goddard graduates gives me a heartfelt appreciation for the powerful partnership between families and educators. That dual perspective fuels my dedication to supporting families at every stage of their child’s early-learning experience and fostering relationships built on trust, compassion, and genuine connection.

Ms. Amanda brings nearly twenty years of experience in early childhood education leadership, childcare administration, and family engagement, all rooted in her deep commitment to helping children and educators thrive. She holds a business degree, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and leads a childcare training company that supports early educators across the country. She loves traveling, spending time with her family, and giving back through volunteer work at local pet rescues and her church. As a proud mother of three, Amanda connects naturally with the families she serves, sharing the same community and values that guide her both personally and professionally.

Ms. Ma’Kalyin, affectionately known as Ms. Mak, is a dedicated early childhood professional with a passion for children, teachers, and strong classroom environments. Her ability to build meaningful relationships, mentor educators, and find solutions makes her a valued leader on our team. Ms. Mak holds a degree in Human Resources and is continuing her education in Business Communications at Sul Ross State University. She brings strong skills in communication, organization, and classroom development, with a genuine commitment to helping teachers grow and classrooms thrive. Outside of school, Ms. Mak enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, journaling, trying new foods, and exploring coffee shops. She is the oldest of four siblings and considers her mother her greatest role model. She also loves a good plate of birria tacos! Ms. Mak brings heart, accountability, and a genuine commitment to our children, teachers, and school community.

Ms. Madison finished high school and immediately started working at different daycares so she could become familiar with the ends and outs of teaching kids. She continues her education in college working on a degree to one day become a 3rd grade teacher. Ms. Madison loves to read, fish and swim when she isn't in the classroom. One of her dreams for the future is to "get married and have a bunch of kids".

Ms. Samantha has extensive experience working with children, beginning as a nanny at 16, later supporting 2nd–4th graders as an Education Specialist, and most recently caring for newborns to two year olds as a Pediatric Medical Assistant. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Education with a focus on Athletic Leadership while competing as a collegiate softball student athlete. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her younger cousins, and loves pizza. She comes from a large, close-knit family.

Ms. Paulina has experience working with young children through her previous role at a gymnastics facility, where she supported pre-K through first-grade girls in learning new skills, building confidence, and having fun. She completed her training in cosmetology and plans to further her education in barbering, and she is excited to work with children through her future career in the field. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends, doing hair, shopping, traveling, and expressing her creativity. She comes from a very close and supportive family, considers her mom her hero, and deeply values the time she spends with the people she loves.

Ms. Janeth is beginning to build experience in early childhood education and is eager to grow professionally in the field. She graduated from Ball High School and has been considering pursuing early childhood education in college to deepen her knowledge and skills. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, working out, spending time with loved ones, taking daily walks with her two dogs, and appreciating Latino culture — especially pupusas, her favorite Honduran dish. She comes from a vibrant, loving family with Honduran roots on her mother’s side and Mexican roots on her father’s side, and she embraces both cultures wholeheartedly.

Ms. Chelsea has been working with children for 11 years, 4 of those years have been in the infant room which she loves. She is CPR certified and would like to pursue getting her CDA in the near future. Music in crafting is a big passion of Chelsea's, and she likes to bring that aspect to her classrooms, stating "Engaging young children in art is a great way for children to learn even at such a young age". Fun fact, though Chelsea does not have children of her own she does have one dog and two cats, one of which has 26 toes.

Ms. Stacy worked with children at a mental health clinic and had a joy in watching them learn new skills and grow into wonderful people. Now that she is our kitchen manager, the smiles the kids give her when she brings their lunch makes her feel like the best person in the world. With three children of her own, Ms. Stacy and her husband are avid cruisers going on at least one every year. Reading, traveling and swimming are her top things to do in her free time, and you can always catch her at a seafood or mexican restaurant.

Ms. Ebone started her journey in early childhood education back in 2012. She worked with PreK3 and Prek4 which pushed her to pursue her CDA in 2015 and eventually her director's license in 2019. When Ms. Ebone is not in the classroom, she is a part time Uber driver for her nine-year-old son, taking him to soccer games, football games and track tournaments. After that busy schedule you can find her binge-watching shows and eating street tacos.

Ms. Melinda was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi. Growing up her grandmother ran a daycare which Ms. Melinda would visit every summer learning different skills to take care of babies. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in psychology, afterwards having 2 different internships where she was later offered a position. She worked at a nursing home for 20 years and later worked as a social worker for the elderly for 6 years. After raising 3 kids on her own and them leaving the nest, she realized her happiest moments were being able to teach her children and watch them grow into loving people.

Ms. Sarah is a mother of four adult children plus a grandmother of four more, two teenagers and two toddlers. She has been working in childcare in one way or another for many years. She has worked with many churches through their summer programs, children’s church, and their nursery childcare. She has also worked with the local MOPS programs and was a substitute for several schools in our area. She is a creative person, so she enjoys all forms of art along with all kinds of crafting. She has a passion for sharing her creativity with children. She looks forward to her time in the outdoors; camping with her family is one of her favorite times. Ms. Sarah believes it is important to provide children with a safe, fun, fulfilling and enriched environment. She absolutely loves working with children of all ages. She counts it a privilege to be in each one of their lives.
