At The Goddard School of Collegeville, we provide high-quality early childhood education & care for children ages 6 wks to 6 yrs in Collegeville, Phoenixville, Oaks and surrounding communities. Our program combines the nurturing environment of a trusted daycare with the structure and learning of a premier preschool. Meet Erin Assistant Bridge Teacher

FEB 2026 TEACHER OF THE MONTH: Ms. Erin joins the Playful Patriots team as an assistant teacher, bringing with her a deep passion for working with young learners. Before joining our staff, she spent several years volunteering in elementary classrooms, where she discovered her love for helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Her experience also includes serving as a Girl Scout Leader, where she enjoyed mentoring young girls, planning engaging activities, and encouraging teamwork. A graduate of Spring-Ford, Ms. Erin went on to pursue studies in Early Childhood Education, completing coursework in child development. Though she paused her formal education to start her family, she continued to nurture her teaching skills through years of active involvement in her children’s schools. As a mother of three, she has spent countless hours volunteering, assisting teachers, organizing classroom activities, and supporting both academic and social-emotional growth in students.

The teachers are very kind and love the kids. You can see it quite clearly in the interactions they have with the little ones in their care. My daughter, who's now in Grade 1, goes to Goddard for after-care and given that the public school is often closed when Goddard is not, I really appreciate being able to send my daughter there on those days.

- Low staff/ teacher turnover (very important) - close attention given to the kids, regular updates via photos or discussions with the teacher. - Teachers always have an idea about how the kids day went. - Teachers and admins are receptive to comments from the parents. - The teachers make sure that class transitions are handled well.

KEYSTONE STARS

Pennsylvania’s Keystone STARS program is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to improve, support and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs. The Keystone STARS Performance Standards provide the foundation for the program and are grouped into four levels – Standards, Training, Assistance, Resources and Support. Each level builds on the previous level and utilizes research-based best practices to promote quality early learning environments and positive child outcomes.

PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

The PA DOE considers the education of its children to be among the highest priorities of state government and has dedicated many resources toward that end. Educators who are PA DOE certified prepare for their responsibilities in the schools of the Commonwealth through the completion of a State Approved Teacher Education program (includes student teaching or field experience), The Pre Service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA) in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, and completing application materials documenting that all certification requirements have been met.
