Welcome to The Goddard School of Yukon! Kristin and Michael Richards are the proud owners, and Kristin is extremely excited to serve as the on-site operator. As long-term residents of Yukon and dedicated parents to two wonderful children (ages 2 and 5), they are beyond thrilled to bring the Goddard Difference to their community. After years of advocating for others in the legal field as a trial attorney, along with her undergraduate degree in education from the University of Oklahoma, Kristin understands how vital high-quality early childhood education is to a thriving community. Committed to fostering excellence in early education, Kristin is focused on building strong partnerships with families and passionate educators, ensuring children develop the confidence, curiosity, and foundational skills needed for lifelong success. Together and with her dedicated team, Kristin looks forward to creating a nurturing space, where children feel safe, supported, and are inspired to grow.

Lauren worked in early childhood education for six years before taking a brief break to focus on community mental health over the past seven years. Despite that shift, her heart never truly left early childhood education, and she is now thrilled to be back in a field she is deeply passionate about. Lauren is committed to running a school that fosters a nurturing, welcoming, and safe environment for both teachers and students. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Oklahoma State University—Go Pokes!—which is also where she met her husband, Daniel. Together, they have two beautiful daughters, Amelia and Ellie, and share their home with a charming mini-dachshund named Jack.

Shelby has been working in the early childhood education field since 2014 and brings a deep passion for teaching, leadership, and child development to her role as Director of Education. She has hands-on experience working in classrooms with children of all ages, allowing her to understand and support both educators and students at every developmental stage. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is especially excited to be part of The Goddard School because of its positive, engaging learning environment and strong emphasis on play-based and child-led learning, which she believes is essential for young children’s growth and success. She is passionate about being a positive influence during children’s critical early learning years while also partnering with families to support each child’s individual development. She and her husband, Josh, have one daughter and have called Yukon home for the past five years.
