Nicole Harrison is the Owner of The Goddard School of West Orange and of Livingston. As a mother of 4 children, she has always understood the importance of early childhood education. Nicole has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health as well as a teaching degree in Physical Education and Health. She has many years of experience working in business prior to her teaching path. Nicole and her team are committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in the community. Our unique nurturing approach will give your child the opportunity to develop into a joyful, confident learner who is prepared for success in school and in life.

Hello Goddard families! I’m Eric Alders, Vice President of Regional Operations for our West Orange, Livingston, and soon-to-open East Hanover locations. With over 25 years of mentoring children to become confident, joyful individuals, I’m honored to support the Goddard School community. For 15 years, I owned two martial arts schools, teaching enrichment programs at daycare and early childhood centers, earning recognition in the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame for teaching excellence. As a General Manager at Starbucks, I led six high-volume locations, managing teams of up to 40 while ensuring safe, welcoming environments—skills I now apply to uphold Goddard’s high standards. As a father of twin daughters who thrived at Goddard, I deeply value early education. Married to my college sweetheart, I’m committed to creating nurturing spaces where every child shines. I look forward to partnering with our families to ensure your child’s safety, education, and happiness!

With over 25 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I bring a deep passion for fostering high-quality learning environments and building meaningful, trusting relationships with both teachers and families. My journey has led me to The Goddard School of West Orange, where I am proud to support and guide early childhood professionals in their daily work with young learners. I believe that every child and every family is unique—and deserves the highest level of care, support, and individualized attention. My previous roles as a preschool teacher, Director, and Quality Improvement Specialist for Grow NJ Kids have equipped me with a broad perspective and valuable experience in the field. In addition, I hold a Certificate of Graduate Study in Early Childhood Coaching and Technical Assistance, which enhances my ability to mentor educators and strengthen classroom practices through reflective, collaborative coaching.

Hi families! My name is Donna, and I have been the Assistant Director at The Goddard School of West Orange since 2023. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Montclair State University. I have leadership, teaching and case management experience. I decided to pursue a career in childcare because I genuinely enjoy being around all children. The innocence of children really warms my heart. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, hosting fun get togethers with family and friends, and watching all things Bravo channel related (my guilty pleasure!). I am certified in CPR/First Aid, Severe Allergy Response, Including Children with Special Needs, Safe Sleep Practices, and Medication Administration.

Hello families! My name is Alexandra. I hold a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies from Rutgers University. I began my career working at Rutgers Graduate School and spent six years as a freelance tutor, supporting students across core academic subjects. My passion has always been education, which led me to teach Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten. With nearly ten years of experience in the field, I am dedicated to upholding the Goddard School’s commitment to excellence in early childhood education. Early childhood is a pivotal time when the foundation for future learning and well-being is formed. With that in mind, I am committed to cultivating confidence, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and providing teacher-guided opportunities for young minds to explore their interests. Hello, my name is Madeleine. I graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Creative Writing. One of my early jobs after graduation was working for a literary agent whose focus was children’s books. This interest in children’s literacy and education then brought me to Hunter College where I earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a thesis on early literacy. I taught for 10 years at a preeminent Reggio inspired preschool in Manhattan. While there, I was sent to Italy to study Reggio techniques where the philosophy originated, as well as to numerous schools across the country to present and learn about educational theories. Since moving to New Jersey, I have worked with various schools across the state, providing in-class STEAM lessons as well as professional development for teachers and administration. I come to The Goddard School as Early Childhood Education Specialist, bringing my passion, breadth of experience and knowledge.

Hi, my name is Chelsey and I have been working with children of all ages since I was 14. I have worked in the daycare, summer camp, and after school setting. I have a beautiful 7 year old son named Noah who has taught me (still teaching me) so much. I am currently studying Early Childhood Education in college. I love to help children develop and grow. It is beautiful to see how fast they grow. In my spare time, I love singing, watching murder mystery/true crime, listening to music, and hanging out with family and friends.

Hi, my name is Ava Scalley. I have been working in education for over 1 year. My most loved children book is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. The children in my class enjoy having me as a teacher because I am silly with them, matching their energetic energy. I love giving my students comfort and company when they are sad and adding in a few cuddles to make them smile. I love to apply the information I learned about childcare in my daily tasks with my students. Most importantly, teach them positive alternatives to express themselves when it comes to things that are challenging to them. A fun fact about me is when I get embarrassed my face turns red. I started as an assistant teacher and then moved up to head teacher. I am CPR certified, and first aid certified. I love watching the growth of every child and watching them succeed in every milestone. I love reading and watching TV.

Hi, my name is Tammy Hill. I have been working in education for 10 years. My most loved children’s book is “Llama Llama Red Pajama” by Anna Dewdney. The Children in my class enjoy having me as a teacher because I give extra hugs and shower them with love and care. I love reading to them during story time. Hi! I’m Ms. Natalie, and I’ve been working in education for 10 years. I bring a childlike spirit and genuine joy to teaching, which helps me connect deeply with my students and make learning fun. I love sharing the magic of stories—especially anything by Eric Carle—and bringing creativity into the classroom through music, movement, and play. I’m a classically trained singer and dancer, a certified fitness trainer, and I’m passionate about the arts and education. This year, I hope to learn a new language and earn another educational certificate to continue growing both personally and professionally. My long-term goal is to keep expanding my own education while inspiring others through the arts. I’m passionate about creating a caring, safe, and supportive environment where each child feels seen and valued. Hello Goddard families, my name is Ms Anayyah and I am a graduate of Cicely L. Tyson, where I studied performing and fine arts. I also majored in animation! I love bringing my creative side and imagination to my classroom. I feel one can teach basic skills without love, but to truly make a difference in a student's life, there needs to be love. Love sees teaching as an art where we explore different ways of connecting to subject matter and to students. Love brings patience and understanding, which are so important in teaching. In my spare time, I am event coordinator for my business where I have created a platform to help black creators in my community share their art, music , talent and skills. Hello, my name is Ma'kasia I feel honored to have the opportunity to work with your child at the Goddard School. I've been a teacher since I was 16 years old, and growing up with 6 siblings taught me everything I needed to know to start my career in education. During my 4 years of high school, I also had much fun practicing graphic design and cheerleading. And guess what? I even attended cosmetology school!

Hi, I’m Ms. Teresa, and I’ve had the joy of working in early childhood education for 8 years. Marlissa Field here, and it makes me extremely happy to be a part of the West Orange Goddard. I have been working with children since 2006. Since then, I've earned my Child Development Associate in Infant and Toddler and Associate of Arts in Education, and I'm currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a high school graduate, and I also attended the Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts in East Orange. I started working with kids at the age of 14. I worked for a daycare in the city as a summer job, and ever since then I have wanted to continue a career working with children. I also worked for the YMCA for about two years. I love working with children because I want to have a positive impact on their lives. I enjoy building relationships with children as a fellow caregiver. Hi, I’m Ms. Juliana Morales, and I’ve been passionate about education for the past 5 years. One of my favorite children’s books is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie because it encourages curiosity and imagination—qualities I love to see in my students every day. The children in my class enjoy having me as their teacher because I actively join in their activities and take time to connect with them by discussing their interests and ideas. My long-term career aspiration is to earn my master’s degree in mental health counseling and become a licensed counselor to better support children’s emotional well-being. Hi my name is Leandra! I graduated high school in 2008. I obtained my CDA in preschool and completed my child development training. During my years working with children, I have cared for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and assisted aftercare with elementary students. I started out as an aftercare teacher. I have also been an assistant and a lead teacher. Working with children ensures each day will be a unique adventure. Children are exciting and very unpredictable. Nothing matches the energy of a child’s enthusiasm for life and eagerness to learn. Engaging in different tasks and activities every day, ensuring the children grow and learn to their best potential. Hi! I’m Ms. Zy’Asia, and I’ve been working in early childhood education for two years. I love creating a classroom that’s both fun and full of learning. My students enjoy being in my class because we’re always finding creative, exciting ways to explore new ideas together. Hello parents/guardians, my name is Ms.Neissa! I am currently attending Rutgers University. I am majoring in social services. I have been babysitting and tutoring for many years, as well as working with Get Set programs. I find great satisfaction in creating connections and understanding each child that I have worked with. Hello I am Ms. Jackie and have been working in childcare for many years. I also worked in cosmetology, in accounting, and am a certified Zumba teacher. Sandra is a part of our resource team! She is a proud resident of Essex county and has lived here her entire life. Sandra has worked with children for over 20 years as a childcare provider and knew from a young age that working with kids was what she wanted to do in life. She is a proud mother of 5 and grandmother of 3!
