Our Goddard School Teachers

My name is Jill Pelicano and I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Community and Family Services and Early Childhood Education from The University of Delaware. When moving to Urbana, we searched for an education-based preschool program. Our options were limited to daycare centers or in home daycare. Knowing what we were looking for, we decided to pursue our dream of opening a premiere Pre-School for our children, and the Urbana community. Our Dream became a reality, The Goddard School Urbana opened January 5th 2009. Since opening we have continuously striven to provide an educationally STEAM + Literacy focused, warm nurturing environment that Is beneficial to all children. Owning our own Goddard School has been such a wonderful experience. We are fortunate to have had the honor of touching so many lives within our community.

My name is John Pelicano. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from the University of Maryland. I also hold my Early Childhood Education 45 and 90 hour certifications through additional Early Childhood Education college coursework. I am First Aid and CPR Certified Infant-Adult and trained in Disaster preparedness. We are so thankful for all of the families who place their trust in the Goddard School Urbana every day, playing a part in the future of their children.

Julie Robinson brings over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and leadership to our team. Before joining us, Julie briefly served as the Operations Director at The Gaithersburg Goddard School, where she supported daily operations and staff development. She previously held the role of Director at Bright Horizons in Langhorne, PA, where she led a team of 30, maintained compliance with state regulations, and implemented strategic enrollment and family engagement initiatives. Julie’s earlier leadership roles include Principal at Chesterbrook Academy and Assistant Principal in Exton, PA. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from George Mason University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Julie is passionate about fostering supportive learning environments and building strong relationships with families and staff.

Ms. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, showcasing her commitment to nurturing young minds. From 2013 to 2017, she was an integral member of the dedicated team at the Goddard School in Wexler, PA, where she honed her skills in early childhood education. After making a life-changing move to Maryland, she became a vital part of The Goddard School in Urbana in 2017. Throughout her journey, Ms. Sarah has taken on various roles, including Get Set teacher and Preschool teacher, and most recently, she excelled as a Pre-K Lead Teacher, where she inspired and guided her students to reach their full potential. In June 2024, she brought her passion for education and leadership to our front office team, assuming the important role of the School’s Director of Education, where she continues to impact the lives of children and families in our community.

I joined the Goddard School in September 2013. I earned my Associates of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Childhood Education and can speak 4 languages. I have been in the Early Childhood Field for over ten years and am CPR/First Aid Certified. I love teaching at The Goddard School Urbana because making a difference in the lives of children brings me joy every day. And our ability to develop fun educational learning lessons that encourage positive educational growth and learning is simply amazing. In June 2023 I was Promoted to The Director of Art Studies. I know have the opportunity to move throughout the school teaching and creating with every age group and classroom.

My name is Ms. Caylin. I have worked at The Goddard School Urbana since November 2015. I earned my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from from Frederick Community College. I earned my 90-hour Preschool certification. At The Goddard School Urbana, I enjoy assisting in all the classrooms. This allows me the opportunity to engage with every age group giving me the experience I will need in order to be a the best Teacher. My goal is to one day be a Lead Teacher here at The Goddard School Urbana.

Ms. Susan Chase served as the Director of Education at The Goddard School in Urbana for over 10 years before retiring in July 2022. In early 2025, she made the decision to return to our school as a substitute teacher. Ms. Susan primarily comes in weekly to assist and cover breaks in our Infant suite. We are thrilled to welcome her back to The Urbana Goddard School!
