Our Teachers

My name is Jill Pelicano and I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Community and Family Services and Early Childhood Education from The University of Delaware. When moving to Urbana we searched for a Education based preschool program. Our options were limited to daycare centers or in home daycare. Knowing what we were looking for, we decided to pursue our dream of opening a premiere Pre-School for our children, and the Urbana community. Our Dream became a reality, The Goddard School Urbana opened January 5th 2009. Since opening we have continuously striven to provide an educationally STEAM + Literacy focused, warm nurturing environment that Is beneficial to all children. Owning our own Goddard School has been such a wonderful experience. We are fortunate to have had the honor of touching so many lives within our community.

My name is John Pelicano. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in Business Management and Marketing. I also hold my Early Childhood Education 45 and 90 hour certifications through additional Early Childhood Educational college course work. I am First Aid and CPR Certified Infant-Adult and trained in Disaster preparedness. We are so thankful for all of the families who place their trust in the Goddard School Urbana every day, playing a part in the future of their children.

My name is Ms. Sarah. I joined the Goddard School Urbana in August 2017, after relocating from PA to Frederick Maryland for LOVE. (My then fiancé and my now husband relocated to MD) I have been a Goddard School Teacher since 2014 in Wexford, PA. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University and have been working with young children for many years. I love introducing new concepts to children and allowing them to explore and discover the world around them! I was promoted to Educational Team Director and am working with our School Directors in implementing our New Goddard Curriculum, The Wonder of Learning.

I joined the Goddard School in September 2013. I earned my Associates of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Childhood Education and can speak 4 languages. I have been in the Early Childhood Field for over ten years and am CPR/First Aid Certified. I love teaching at The Goddard School Urbana because making a difference in the lives of children brings me joy every day. And our ability to develop fun educational learning lessons that encourage positive educational growth and learning is simply amazing. In June 2023 I was Promoted to The Director of Art Studies. I know have the opportunity to move throughout the school teaching and creating with every age group and classroom.

Hello, my name is Susan Chase and I have been The Director of Education at The Goddard School Urbana since July 2010. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ashford University, and my Masters in Business Management with a minor in Education from Ashford University. I have earned my Board Certified Cognitive Specialist Credential and I've been in Education for over 30 years. I also hold a Maryland State Department of Education Educational Credential level 6. I have been both a classroom teacher and School Principle for several private Catholic Schools prior to joining The Goddard School. Since joining The Goddard School Urbana Team, we earned our School wide MSDE Accreditation, along with our 2016 Re-Accreditation. I enjoy working at The Goddard School Urbana because I love making a difference in the lives of children.
