About Dr. Lauren Loquasto
Dr. Lauren Loquasto is SVP and chief academic officer at Goddard Systems. She is responsible for leading the development of The Goddard School’s proprietary education program, driving research-based innovation and implementing new accreditation standards across the franchise system.
Previously, Dr. Loquasto served as vice president of early childhood education at Primrose Schools Franchising Company, where she oversaw the continued evaluation, development and implementation of Primrose’s early childhood curriculum and research models.
She has more than 20 years of experience in education, including curriculum development, evaluation and implementation, as well as teaching and consulting in the fields of preschool, special needs and elementary education.
A widely published author and lecturer, Dr. Loquasto holds a doctorate in educational leadership, as well as a master’s degree and doctorate in child development.
About Dr. Maria Shaheen
Dr. Maria Shaheen is the Director of Early Childhood Education Research & Innovation at Goddard Systems. She leads external research, accreditation, Universal Pre-Kindergarten/advocacy, continuous improvement and partners with Dr. Loquasto on innovative strategic planning.
Dr. Shaheen has over 25 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, and she has presented and published internationally and nationally. Her research and publications include early STEM, instructional coaching, early literacy and dyslexia and innovative practices in early childhood education.
Dr. Shaheen holds a doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from Kent State University, as well as a master’s degree in education, leadership certificate, dyslexia certification and Orton-Gillingham certification. She enjoys volunteering for organizations supporting young children and currently serves on the Georgia Association for the Education of Young Children (GAEYC) board.
About Karie Ann Middleton
Karie Ann Middleton serves as the Director of Early Childhood Programs at Goddard Systems, overseeing the team responsible for curriculum development and the creation of indoor and outdoor educational spaces within Goddard Schools. With 32 years of experience in The Goddard School organization, including 15 years spent teaching and directing a Goddard School, Ms. Middleton transitioned to a corporate role focused on school leadership development, industry best practices compliance and the optimization of child experience and education.
Ms. Middleton has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education as well as some post-graduate work.
