Where They Start Matters

At The Goddard School of Wayne, we believe that the start of your child's journey matters. For 20 years, Wayne families have trusted us with their children’s earliest years. At The Goddard School of Wayne, experienced teachers provide exceptional early learning and care in a safe, nurturing place where infants through Pre-K learn through play, build confidence and grow at their own pace. Located on Hamburg Turnpike near Routes 23 and 46 and Route 80, we also serve Pompton Lakes, Lincoln Park, Totowa, Oakland, and Haledon. Schedule a tour to meet our teachers and explore the school.

Meet Melissa

Meet Melissa The Goddard School’s 2026 Teacher of the Year

We are thrilled to celebrate Lead Pre-K Teacher Ms. Melissa Augustine, The Goddard School’s 2026 Teacher of the Year! Selected from more than 7,500 nominated teachers across The Goddard School system, Ms. Melissa is recognized for creating a thoughtfully structured, deeply nurturing classroom where children feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn. Ms. Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College and has more than 8 years of experience working with children. Her passion for teaching began when she worked at a summer camp with her family. That experience helped her discover how much she loved working with children and inspired her to become a teacher. She eventually found her heart in Pre-K, where she loves helping children learn, grow, and build confidence. Outside the classroom, Ms. Melissa enjoys snuggling with her dog, Bear, relaxing in a park hammock, and reading a good book. We are so proud to have her on our team!
