Ms Lisa, Owner Lisa and Greg O'Brien are the on-site owners and business managers of The Goddard School located in Gainesville. We have a young daughter and recognize the importance of a safe and nurturing learning environment. We are excited to be able to provide Goddard's outstanding program to the children in the community. Lisa earned her Bachelor's degree in Communications and a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Greg earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. We are eager to be a part of shaping young minds and helping children for a successful future. We want to welcome everyone to our School and look forward to getting to know each of the children and their families!

Ms Michelle, Director Ms. Michelle has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Education & Child Development from Kaplan University, as well as an Associate’s degree in Early Education & Child Development from Allegheny County Community College. She has been working with young children in teaching, childcare and management capacities since 2007, including having been a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at a highly-respected Goddard School in Ohio.

Born and raised in Southern New Jersey, Ms. Michelle lived in Pittsburgh and Ohio before moving to the Gainesville Area three years ago.

Ms. Michelle loves the Arts as a whole (photography, art, musicals). She also loves hiking to find waterfalls with her husband and dog, and loves a good farmers’ market!

Regarding her teaching philosophy, Ms. Michelle believes that while each child is unique, they are all curious and imaginative inventors who learn best by experiencing the world through play. She says that it’s our job as educators to harness each child’s eagerness to learn and explore, by providing an environment that is open-ended and supportive.

Ms Colleen, Assistant Director Ms. Colleen has an Associate's degree of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, from Northern Virginia Community College. She also has a certificate for being a Cognitive Coach. Ms. Colleen has been working with children, in teaching capacities since 2010.

Previously, Ms. Colleen was a teacher in the preschool class within The Goddard School since its opening in Fall 2016. Ms. Colleen joined the school's management team, as Assistant Director of Operations, in Summer 2018.

She believes its important as an educator to create partnerships with families in an early learning environment to then focus on each child’s needs and learning styles. Ms. Colleen is excited to partner with all the school's families to foster each child’s growth and learning.

Ms Jessica, Assistant Director Ms. Jessica has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development, from Virginia Tech. Coming from a long line of educators, Ms. Jessica has been working with young children in teaching capacities and in administrative capacities, since 2004. Previously, Ms. Jessica worked as a teacher and then on the management team at another Goddard School in Northern Virginia for 11 years. She joined the management team of the Gainesville school in Summer 2018.

Her philosophy is that preschool education should be tailored to meet the needs of the individual student through fun and engaging learning activities. The preschool environment should be filled with positive interactions and guidance to create confident problem solvers and a lifelong love of learning.

Ms Amber, Lead Teacher Ms. Amber has a Child Development Associates Certificate. She has been working in early childcare facility settings with various ages, including infants, since 2008. Ms. Amber has been with The Goddard School, since Fall 2017.

Ms Kaleigh, Lead Teacher Ms. Kaleigh has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Kaleigh has been working with and caring for children and in early childhood education, since 2005. Ms. Kaleigh has been with The Goddard School since Summer 2018.

Ms Subechya, Lead Teacher Ms. Subechya has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Virginia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Arkansas University. Ms. Subechya was previously a preschool teacher from 2012-2013, and had taken time off between then and 2016 to care for her 2 young children. Ms. Subechya has been with The Goddard School since its opening in Fall 2016.

Ms Jameela, Lead Teacher Ms. Jameela has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science & Information Studies, and an Associate's degree in Librarianship from the University of Ghana, Legon. She also has a Teachers certificate ‘A’ from the University College of Education, Cape Coast, Ghana. Her career in Teaching began in 1995 in Ghana. In 2012, Ms. Jameela migrated to the United States, and has been working as a child care provider since 2013. Ms. Jameela has been with The Goddard School since Fall 2017.

Ms Kate, Lead Teacher Ms. Kate has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development & Family Studies from West Virginia University. She has worked in childcare settings, as a teacher and/or administrator since 2012.

Ms Katie, Lead Teacher Ms. Katie has a Childhood Development Associates Certificate, and is currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Business Management from Penn Foster College. She has been taking care of young children since 2007, and working since 2010 in the early childhood education setting in various capacities, including teaching and in administration. Ms. Katie has been with The Goddard School since Spring 2017.

Ms Courtney, Lead Teacher Ms. Courtney has an Associate’s degree in General Studies, from Lord Fairfax Community College. She is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, through the University of Phoenix. Ms. Courtney has been working with young children in teaching and childcare capacities since 2012. Ms. Courtney has been with The Goddard School, since Winter 2018.

Ms Erin, Lead Teacher Ms. Erin has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, from the University of Denver. She is now pursuing a Master's degree in Teaching/Early Education, at Liberty University. Ms. Erin has been working with young children in various capacities, since 2015. Ms. Erin has been with The Goddard School since Summer 2018.

Ms Bridgette, Lead Teacher Ms. Bridgette is graduating with a Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Northern Virginia Community College in January 2018. In various capacities since 2006, Ms. Bridgette has worked with children, ranging from early childhood to elementary ages. Ms. Bridgette has been with The Goddard School since its opening in Fall 2016.

Ms Joanne, Lead Teacher Ms. Joanne has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Jacksonville University & a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from American InterContinental University. Ms. Joanne has been working in the early childhood education field, as a teacher and/or administrator, since 1981. Shortly after the school's opening, Ms. Joanne joined, and has been with The Goddard School, since Winter 2016.

Ms Molly, Lead Teacher Ms. Molly has an Early Childhood Education Career Studies Certificate, from Lord Fairfax Community College. She is continuing to work towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Molly has taken care of children and been teaching in Early Childhood capacities since 2014. Ms. Molly has been with The Goddard School since Spring 2017.

Ms Shanon, Lead Teacher Ms. Shanon has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Shenandoah University. She is currently working on a Master's degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Shanon has been working with young children in teaching and therapist capacities, since 2008. Ms. Shanon has been with The Goddard School since Summer 2018.

Ms Gansala, Resource Ms. Gansala, originally from Sri Lanka, has her law degree from Open University-Sri Lanka. She worked in the early childhood field in Japan for six years. Immigrating to the US, Ms. Gansala then worked in the Early Head Start Program in the Fairfax County Public School system. Ms. Gansala has been with The Goddard School since late Summer 2017.

Ms Humaira, Resource Ms. Humaira has a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry, and a Childhood Development Associates Certificate. She has seventeen years of teaching experience with children of various ages, ten years of which relate directly to early childhood education.

Ms Iram, Resource Ms. Iram has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Political Science. She also has Child Psychology, Child Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certifications. Ms. Iram has worked with young children in various capacities, since 2004.
