Afternoon Assistant Teacher - Part Time

The Goddard School in the Webster Groves/Rock Hill, MO area is currently looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to join their team. As a Goddard Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside with Lead Teachers to support Goddard’s program and policies, as well as state licensing policies. This is a great opportunity to work hand-in-hand with some of the top leaders in the early childhood education field, who will be a valuable mentor and help you learn the ins and outs to be successful in your career.

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll be responsible for:

Implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that are individualized to meet the needs of the children in your classroom
Creating a classroom that is fun and supports plan, exploration and learning
Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and development level
Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
Advancing students physical and intellectual competence
Supporting social and emotional development and providing both positive and productive relationships with families
Ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs based on Goddard’s standards of learning through play
Maintaining a commitment of professionalism with students, families, peers and management.
Requirements/Qualifications:

High School diploma, CDA or currently enrolled in college courses in a related field
Minimum of 18 years of age
Strong written and communication skills
Prior classroom experience is a plus

Lead Early Childhood Teacher in Rock Hill, MO
The Goddard School in the Webster Groves/Rock Hill, MO area is currently seeking a Lead Early Childhood Teacher to join their team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about designing fun and engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students that challenge them academically, nurture their natural curiosity and facilitate high quality learning.


As a Lead Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for:

Establishing and Maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
Design room arrangement, develop appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
Post a classroom schedule that meets the needs of the whole child to include learning opportunities for active play as well as routines for guided and independent exploration
Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
Use provided resources to plan and implement activities to develop children’s self-esteem, social skills and sense of security so they feel safe taking risks in the classroom
Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence
Create a multi-cultural learning environment
Create a print-rich environment in order for children to learn about books, literature and writing
Encourage creativity through art, music, dramatic play and blocks
Establishing and Maintaining Parent-Teacher Partnerships
Prepare an Electronic Daily Activity Report for each child (via Tadpoles)
Maintain an electronic assessment portfolio for each child (via Teaching Strategies)
Ensure an effective program, responsive to children’s needs
Develop electronic lesson plans within My Teaching Strategies monthly
Perform child observations and documentation monthly within in each child’s electronic portfolio
Use assessment tools (eg., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress, My Teaching Strategies, etc.) to drive instruction and create individualized lessons for the children in your care
Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related field
Must meet all requirements mandated by state and local licensing authorities
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
Prior classroom experience is a plus
