Denise, Owner With a background in business, Denise built this school based on two principles: recruit and retain the best talent and service the customer. This has resulted in a great teaching team who focus on the care and education of their students and a great administrative team who focus on faculty and families.

Alissa, Director Alissa is the Center Director for our school. She has been with us for the past 9 years and has worked as a lead teacher in our First Steps program as well as our preschool and Kindergarten programs. Alissa holds her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is passionate about curriculum and early childhood education. As the Center Director, Alissa is responsible for recruiting and training our talented staff as well as ensuring the daily operations of the school are running smoothly.

Devon, Director Devon is our Infant/Toddler Director. She works closely with our infant/toddler staff to create a great first time school experience for our students and parents. She comes to us with her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology and is most interested in helping our youngest students with their first words. Devon continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Kaylene, Director Kaylene is one of our school directors and oversees the Infant and Toddler Programs. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. Kaylene enjoys working with our youngest students and creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for them to learn and grow. She continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Erin, Lead Teacher Erin is our lead teacher in our Navy classroom. She is a Reno, Nevada native. She graduated from The University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Addiction Treatment Services. While in school she focused on infant and toddler development. The younger students have always been her favorite. When the weather is warm, you can find Erin spending time outside with her dog. Erin continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Aimee, Lead Teacher Aimee is a lead teacher who assists in the development of our toddler programs. She partners with co-teachers to create and implement curriculum and conduct ongoing assessments. Aimee came to us having early childhood experience with nieces and nephews of her own, as well as previous nanny experience. During her time at our school, she completed the Child Development Associates process and is now accredited in infant and toddler development. She enjoys doing science experiments with her class, and loves paper crafting and other types of art as well. Aimee continues her professional development training through Goddard University courses.

Ciara, Lead Teacher Ciara is a co-lead teacher in our Get Set two year old program. She comes to us with her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She has taught gymnastics for seven years and preschool for two. She loves interacting with young children, watching them grow and overcome obstacles, achieve milestones, and develop into their own person. She believes children should be allowed to ask questions and explore their surroundings freely in a safe, loving, guided environment. She wants to go back to school to get her master’s degree in Speech Pathology. Ciara continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Shawna, Lead Teacher Shawna is the coordinator for our toddler programs and is involved in the daily operations for those rooms. Shawna moved to Reno from Orange County, CA in 2013. She started working at the Goddard School shortly after, and has been a wonderful addition to our team! She took some time off to stay home with her daughter, but then returned to the school to take over our toddler programs. For Shawna, the most important part of parenting/teaching is spending time outside with children! Shawna continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses and is currently participating in her CDA thru the Council for Professional Development.

Gayle, Lead Teacher Gayle is the co-lead teacher in our Preschool 2 program. Gayle moved to Reno with her family in 2007. She grew up in Nebraska and received her undergraduate in Fine Arts. Gayle recently received her Master of Early Childhood Education and her Nevada teaching certification. She has numerous years of experience teaching young children with the Washoe County School District. Gayle continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Taylor, Lead Teacher Taylor is the coordinator of our preschool programs in the school and is involved in these programs daily. Taylor grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada Reno. She graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation, she moved home to Las Vegas to teach at a local preschool in the three year old classroom. She recently moved back to Reno to further her collegiate studies. Taylor’s favorite thing about teaching is watching the children grow and being a part of the development process. Taylor continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses and is also completing classes to obtain her elementary education teaching credential.

Cera, Lead Teacher Cera is a co-lead teacher for our Junior Kindergarten Program. Cera is currently enrolled in the Child Development Associates program for Preschool. She enjoys working with young students and is excited to help them develop social, academic, and creative abilities. Martha , Lead Teacher Martha is the lead teacher in our Junior Kindergarten program. Martha is the oldest of four children and has lived in Reno since she was a young child. After graduating from North Valleys High School, she began her collegiate career at the University of Reno Nevada. She is currently studying Elementary Education and enjoys her Human Development classes most. While observing preschool classrooms for school assignments, Martha realized how much she enjoyed an early childcare setting. She is passionate about making a difference in children’s early life. Her favorite part of working with children is the personal bond she can build with them. Martha continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Torri, Lead Teacher Ms. Torri is the co-lead teacher in our pre-kindergarten classroom. Torri moved to Reno from Folsom, CA in 2017. She obtained her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Diversity from National University. Torri has a background working with children with developmental disabilities, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder. Torri has enjoyed a previous career teaching kindergarten readiness programs and working as an assistant director for multiple preschool programs. Ms. Torri continues her professional development training through Goddard University courses.

Mackenzie, Lead Teacher Mackenzie is a lead teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten classroom. Mackenzie grew up in Las Vegas, NV where she graduated from Green Valley High School. She attended college in Hawaii, and then finished her bachelor’s degree in human development and Family Studies at UNR. She loves that she is getting experience working in this field and hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Mackenzie continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Amber, Assistant Teacher Amber is the assistant teacher in our Infant classroom. She graduated from Santa Clara University, but has lived in Reno for over 15 years. She has a huge family and has been surrounded by kids her whole life. Her favorite part of working with children is creating art projects and planning sensory play! Maria, Assistant Teacher Maria is an assistant teacher in our Yellow classroom. She was born in Guatemala but grew up in California. She is working on a degree in Child Psychology with Southern New Hampshire University. She has been working with children in early childhood educational setting for the last several years and loves seeing them learn and helping them improve their skills. She continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Ana, Resource Ana is a resource teacher for our one year old programs. Ana is bilingual and teaches Spanish coursed at The University of Nevada Reno. She likes to incorporate Spanish language learning as well as sign language into our early learning classrooms. Erica, Resource Erica is our Assistant Director who plans and implements the calendar of events and our quarterly family events. Erica has previously taught in our infant program as an assistant teacher, and was also an assistant teacher in our three year old preschool program for a short time. Erica holds her degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education and has experience as a math resource teacher for the Washoe County School District.

Gabby, Resource Gabby is one of our FLEX staff members. She is from Las Vegas, NV where she lived her whole life until moving to Reno for college, where she graduated from UNR with her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Since high school, she has worked with children at summer camps, in an elementary school, on mission trips, and now here at Goddard. She is currently doing an internship with the Reno Police Department’s Victim Services Unit where she hopes she will be able to eventually pursue a career in an effort help as many children and families in our Reno community. Gabby continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Ghaydaa, Resource Ghaydaa is one of our resource teachers. She grew up in Saudi Arabia and moved here when she was nine years old. She is currently studying at TMCC to become a paralegal and hoping to continue her education at UNR after a few years working as a paralegal. Ghaydaa has been working with children of different ages for a few years now and has grown to love it. In her free time she loves to hangout with friends and family or shop at a local thrift store. She continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Hannah, Resource Hannah is one of our FLEX teachers that support our Infant/Toddler side of the school. She was born and raised in Dayton, Nevada. She is currently attending The University of Nevada, Reno and pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. She loves children and animals and hopes to one day own her own preschool. Hannah continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Jennifer, Resource Jennifer is one of our FLEX teachers. She was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She currently attends the University of Nevada, Reno where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology and a minor in Community Health Sciences. She hopes to continue her education to get a master's degree in Speech Pathology. She loves to see the growth of the children while they learn and become their own little person. Coming into work, communicating and laughing with the babies is the best part of her day! Jennifer continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Lauren, Resource Lauren is one of our FLEX teachers. She was born and raised in Ripon, California. She currently attends The University of Nevada, Reno where she is pursuing a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Developmental Disabilities. Prior to attending UNR, Lauren played volleyball at Butte College and earned A.A. degrees in Liberal Studies, as well as Social and Behavioral Science. Lauren loves interacting with children and enjoys watching them learn. She continues her professional development training through Goddard System University courses.

Molly, Resource Molly is a resource teacher for our two's programs. Molly grew up in Reno, Nevada. She is currently attending the University of Nevada Reno, majoring in Social Work and Child Advocacy. She has worked with young children for the last year at a local child care facility and is dedicated to continuing her learning experience in order to find her career path in early childhood education. Molly continues her professional development training through Goddard Systems University courses.
