Mehul, Owner Mehul is the proud owner of The Goddard School® located in Durham. Mehul, his wife Kruti and their son have been Triangle residents since 2001. Mehul runs the school with integrity, sincerity and a genuine concern for the children under his care. His goal is to provide a strong foundation for our children, and is thrilled to be a part of the Durham community. Mehul has a Master’s degree in Computer Science and worked as a senior software developer for more than 12 years. He welcomes you to the School, and thanks you for being a member of the Goddard family!

Shashin, Owner Shashin is one of the owners of The Goddard School. Shashin and his wife, Vaidehi, have lived in the Triangle since 1994 and are happy to be able to provide Goddard's outstanding program to the children in this community. They are the parents of two children and recognize the importance of a safe and nurturing learning environment. Shashin believes in making his school a home away from home for the children. Their family is the reason that they chose Goddard. Shashin has a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. He enjoys spending time with his family and looks forward to getting to know you and your children well.

Mrs Laura, Director Ms. Laura is excited and proud to be the Educational Director of The Goddard School located in Durham! She graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Wheaton College in Illinois with a minor in Mathematics. She worked as a middle school Math and Science teacher before starting her career in the Early Childhood field as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and administrator. After relocating to North Carolina in 2007, she went back to school to obtain her North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials 1 and 2 along with her Level 3 Administrative Credentials. Laura is passionate about providing an early childhood environment where children and their families are comfortable and safe, as well as receive a quality early education. Laura is dedicated to providing this to each child and family attending The Goddard School!

Ms Angela, Lead Teacher Infants - Kicking Kangaroos

Ms. Angie has been a part of our family since we opened in 2010! She is originally from Cynthiana, Kentucky. She is passionate about spoiling each baby in the Kicking Kangaroo classroom. She has over 20 years experience working with children in their early childhood years and holds her North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials and Professional Nanny Certificate. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her four children, traveling, and trying new foods.

Brianna, Lead Teacher Infant - Kicking Kangaroos

Ms. Brianna is originally from Richmond, VA and moved to Durham, NC in 2014 to pursue a degree in Child Development and Family Relations from North Carolina Central University. Ms. Brianna has experience with children from 6 weeks to 10 years of age. She became a teacher because she wants to impact the lives of children in a positive way. In her free time, Ms. Brianna enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, watching movies, and babysitting.

Ms Bianca, Lead Teacher First Steps - Kind Koalas

Ms. Bianca is so excited to be a part of The Goddard Team. She has been working in child care for over ten years and has loved every moment. She has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and as well as an Early Care and Education Degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She has always had a passion for children and it definitely shows in her career choice. A couple of interesting facts about her: she has five older brothers and is the youngest and the only girl. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Melo.

Ms Zazmyne, Lead Teacher First Steps - Kind Koalas

Ms. Zazmyne is originally from Durham, NC, and she is a single mom with two sons. She has experience working with toddlers and preschoolers and is continuing her education to learn more about Early Childhood at Durham Tech. She finds it very rewarding to be a teacher and enjoys helping the children be successful at potty training!

Ms Brandyn, Lead Teacher Toddler - Eager Elephants

Ms. Brandyn is from Durham, NC, and has always been fascinated with young children for as long as she can remember! She started working with children in 2010 in both church and family settings. She has taken classes in Early Childhood Education at North Carolina Central University and is aspiring to complete her degree in Early Childhood Education at North Carolina Central University very soon. Ms. Brandyn has an awesome son named Caleb who is the light of her life, and a big motivator for her. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, playing with her son, and eating good food. She wants to be able to bring joy and happiness to young children, and is greatly looking forward to be able to provide a nurturing environment for all of the families here at The Goddard School. In her free time, Ms. Brandyn enjoys volunteering her doula services to expectant mothers and families in the community.

Ms Katherine, Lead Teacher Get Set - Perky Penguins

Ms. Kathy was born and raised in New York and has an educational background in Human Services. She is energetic, full of love and positivity. She has been working with children since 2015 and loved it so much, that she continued her education by going back to school for Early Childhood Education. Her favorite thing in the world is to see the children’s bright, shining faces in the morning. In her free time, she likes to watch cook, exercise, and watch movies with her boyfriend.

Hello! Brittney Copeland is thrilled to be teaching here at The Goddard School.She has been working with children and families since 2010, for almost 8 years now. She enjoys teaching through art and play! She always looks forward to the cool conversations she can have with her children everyday. She is also always open to, and looks forward to see the things that her students can teach her too!

My name is Jenae Martin, and I am a big kid at heart with a passion for helping children grow and develop in a fun-loving environment. I take pride in providing happy, healthy memories and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children. I have an Associate Degree in Child Psychology and Child Advocacy from Passaic County Community College in New Jersey and am currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina Central University.

Ms Brenda, Lead Teacher Preschool 2 - Mighty Moose

Ms. Brenda has been an integral part of our Goddard family for more than 4 years now. She is the proud parent of three children - Demetria, Christopher and Paris. She began teaching almost 15 years ago at Easter Seals Society where her passion for teaching young children blossomed. Her family returned to Durham in 2013 from Arkansas. She attended Phillips Community College at the University of Arkansas in pursuit of her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves living and working in Durham, and she is looking forward to more great experiences with the students, families, and faculty here at The Goddard School as well.

Ms Patricia, Lead Teacher Preschool 2 - Mighty Moose

Ms. Patricia has been in the field of education for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree of Arts with a specialty in modern language from the University of El Salvador, as well as studies of Hispanic philology from the Institute of Hispanic-American Cooperation in Madrid, Spain. Additionally, she has received Montessori training, specializing in teaching children 3 to 6 years of age. She enjoys reading and walking and spends most of her free time to support activities for the Hispanic community. She loves volunteering her time teaching an educational program, focusing on the areas of reading comprehension, and development of public speaking.

Ms Relencia, Lead Teacher Pre-Kindergarten 1 - Brave Bears

Ms. Relencia is a mother to four fabulous children and the youngest of five siblings. Her career in Early Childhood Education began when she was 16 years old. After graduating High School, she began working at a local daycare, while attending Richmond Community College for Criminal Justice. She fell in love with caring for children and shaping their minds, so she decided to change her major. She believes that every child can learn, be loved, and be free to be the very best that they can be. She loves working with Goddard parents, staff, and children. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, cooking, shopping, playing games, and spending time with her family.

Ms Valencia, Lead Teacher Pre-Kindergarten 1 - Brave Bears

Ms. Valencia is originally from Brandywine, Maryland; she moved to Durham in 2009 to attend North Carolina Central University. She has a Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations. She has been working with children for several years in a public school environment, and loves the fun and rewarding experiences she has with all of her Goddard children and families. She is always excited to see the children advance throughout the school, and she looks forward to the many opportunities she will have to contribute to their growth.

Ms Lorieann, Lead Teacher Pre-Kindergarten 2 - Lively Lions

Ms. Lorie is extremely excited to be learning alongside her students! She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico two days before Halloween, and she has lived in North Carolina since she was about five years old. While attending college, she took an Early Childhood Education course as an elective and quickly realized that teaching young minds was her dream career. She became a nanny, and refocused her schooling in that direction. She has since completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and is very proud to be a member of the The Goddard School’s teaching team! When she is not doting on the children in her classroom, she enjoys playing video games, crafting, going on adventures, and hanging out with her amazing friends.

Ms Aditi, Resource Hi! My name is Aditi Dholakia. I am from Cary, North Carolina, and am currently a student at North Carolina State University. I am double majoring in German Studies and Communications with a Media concentration. My love for children and early childhood education stems from my mother, who has been an early childhood educator for as long as I can remember. I love to watch children grow into themselves and their identities!

Ms Erica, Resource FLEX Teacher

Ms. Erica was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She moved to Durham, NC to attend the illustrious North Carolina Central University. On campus, she is actively involved in organizations focusing on women and children like The Nesting Nannies. The Nesting Nannies has taught her lots of skills and teaching strategies to project through on and off campus adventures. She enjoys Early Childhood Education because she always has the opportunity to learn something through each and every child she interacts with. She also enjoys having a space where she can be creative, imaginative, and instill teachable memories. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with the Goddard family.

Ms Lashima, Resource FLEX Teacher

Ms. Lashima has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. During those years, she has had the pleasure of being a toddler teacher, an infant teacher, and a three year old teacher. She currently holds her North Carolina Early Childhood Credential, as well as dual Bachelor degrees in Political Science and History, with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She is happy to be a part of the Goddard Family as a FLEX Teacher and looks forward to working with all of the children in the School.

Ms. Naiya is a caring teacher who enjoys working with children of all ages and is originally from Whiteville, NC. She graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2019 with a BA in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Master's at North Carolina Central University, and is excited to learn more about Early Childhood Education.
