Diane and Aleksey, Owners Diane and Aleksey are the owners of the Goddard School in Apex. After being in the corporate workforce for over fifteen years, we wanted to own a business that could make a significant contribution to the community by providing an exceptional, high quality preschool experience for children. Diane is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State. She has spent the majority of her professional life working in the pharmaceutical industry. Aleksey was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and has worked as a coach and professional figure skater for over 25 years. We are excited and proud to be a part of the Goddard family. We are committed to providing an experience that will enrich every child's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development, while providing the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Joanna (Curriculum), Director Mrs. Joanna is the Curriculum Director. She earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the Community College of Vermont. Joanna is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR, as well as SIDS. She is a Level II Administrator.

For 30 years, Joanna has been dedicated to providing children with a nurturing environment and engaging opportunities that set the stage for a love of lifelong learning. On a daily basis, she works closely with the teachers to create positive learning environments in the classrooms.

Ms. Joanna’s favorite children’s book is the “The Runaway Bunny” books by Margaret Wise Brown.

Ms Trina (Operations), Director Ms. Trina is the school's Director. Ms. Trina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. She received her NC Early Childhood Education Credential and NC Early Childhood Administration Credential from Wake Technical Community College. Trina is certified in infant, child/adult CPR and SIDS. She is a Level III administrator.

In addition to managing the day to day operation of the school, Trina is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in which children can learn, explore, imagine and discover new skills. Her passion for education ensures the school is using the most current, academically endorsed methods needed for long-term success in school and in life.

Trina loves children and counts each Goddard child as part of her family.

Miss Alexis, Lead Teacher Ms. Alexis is a lead teacher in our Lil' Shrimp Infant classroom. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies with a thematic core in Child Services at East Carolina University. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Alexis is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Alexis has over 5 years of experience working with children. She loves being part of the journey each infant takes as they grow and develop. Her daily activities provide an early learning environment for movement and exploration.

Ms Emily , Lead Teacher Ms. Emily is a lead teacher in our Lil' Shrimp Infant classroom. She attended St. Augustine University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She has been working as an Early Childhood Educator since 1993 and obtained her NC Early Childhood Credentials from North Carolina Central Community College. Emily is certified in SIDS as well as infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Emily has a passion for the infant age group as she enjoys designing activities to stimulate brain development and get the babies in touch with their environment.

Ms. Emily’s favorite children’s book is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin.

Ms Alexandria, Lead Teacher Ms. Alex is a lead teacher in The Guppies classroom. She earned her bachelors degree in Environmental Science with a minor in biology. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Ms. Alex is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Alex recognizes the importance of creating an environment where children feel safe and have secure relationships with the ones that are caring for them. When children feel secure in their environment, children become effective learners. Ms. Alex’s classroom setting, activities and her interaction with the children promote a safe, stable and nurturing environment.

Ms. Alex’s favorite children’s book is “Where the Sidewalk Ends” by Shel Silverstein.

Ms Jennifer, Lead Teacher Ms. Jennifer is a lead teacher in The Sea Turtles classroom. She has been working as an Early Childhood Educator since 2003. Jennifer earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Wake Technical Community College. She is currently attending Grand Canyon University where she is pursuing Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Jennifer is certified in infant and child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Jennifer truly loves working with young children because she is able to watch them learn, develop and grow. She finds it rewarding to be able to assist them on this journey. This is what makes being an Early Childhood Educator so awesome!

Ms Seng, Lead Teacher Ms. Seng is a lead teacher in The Sea Horses classroom. Seng attended the State University of Fresno where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Seng is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Seng has over 8 years of experience working in the early childhood education field. She has a passion for this age group as she enjoys designing activities to encourage the development of gross motor skills. On a daily basis, she teaches the children skills such as pulling, pushing, jumping, hopping, throwing, tossing, catching and climbing to assist in the development of large muscle control.

Ms Tatiana, Lead Teacher Ms. Tatiana is a lead teacher in The Guppies classroom. She has been working as an Early Childhood Educator for over 20 years. Tatianna earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Wake Technical Community College. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Tatiana is certified in infant and child CPR and First Aid.

She has worked with children of all age groups, from infants to school age, but truly enjoys working with one-year old’s. Everyday her classroom is exciting, different and new. Her lessons incorporate lots of visuals such as puppets and felt boards. She enjoys creating activities that keep the children engaged.

Ms Shanae, Lead Teacher Ms. Shanae is a lead teacher in The Sea Horses class. Shanae attended Johnston Community College where she earned her NC Early Childhood Credentials. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Shanae is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Shanae has over 10 years experience working in an early childhood education setting. Shanae believes play is critical to the healthy growth and development of children. She enjoys creating a classroom environment where she uses the child’s/children’s interests to guide their learning.

Ms Jami, Lead Teacher Ms. Jami is a lead teacher in our Starfish classroom. She earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the Community College of Vermont. Jami is certified in SIDS as well as infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Jami has over 10 years of experience working with toddlers. She has a passion for this age group as she enjoys designing activities that stimulate their curiosity and inquisitiveness. On a daily basis, she provides interesting materials for the children to explore and will add a surprise to a routine activity.

Ms Michelle, Lead Teacher Ms Michelle is a lead teacher in The Stingrays classroom. She has been teaching at The Goddard School since 2008. Ms. Michelle attended Michigan State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development. In addition, she holds a teaching K-5 certification from Oakland University. Michelle is certified in SIDS as well as infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Michelle believes that play is the vehicle for exploring and learning, developing new skills, and connecting with others. Her goal is to provide guidance to the children to extend their play and increase their learning.

Ms Shirelyn, Lead Teacher Ms. Shirelyn is a lead teacher in our Jellyfish classroom. She earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Wake Technical Community College. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, she is certified in infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Shirelyn loves the excitement and challenges that she faces every day as a Preschool teacher. Her goal is to bring out the best in each child as she challenges them in a fun and positive way. She enjoys inspiring independence and fostering growth/development so that each child is provided with a strong foundation for learning.

Ms Brianna, Lead Teacher Ms. Brianna is a lead teacher in The Guppies classroom. She has been working in Early Childhood Education since 2010. Brianna is certified in SIDS as well as infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Brianna loves providing new and exciting art activities that allow her one-year old’s to creatively express themselves.

Ms Lilanthi, Lead Teacher Ms. Lilanthi is a lead teacher in The Jellyfish class. She has been teaching at the Goddard School since 2007. Ms. Lilanthi earned her AMI Montessori Diploma in Sri Lanka.

Ms. Lilanthi recognizes the importance of outdoor play. She designs activities that give the children opportunities to explore, discover, run, jump, climb, roll, yell and sing. She enjoys enabling children to be children!

Mr Vlad, Lead Teacher Mr. Vlad is a lead teacher in our Dolpins classroom. Vlad attended The College at Southeastern in Wake Forest, NC where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in both Christian Studies and English. Vlad is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid

As a Pre-K teacher, Mr. Vlad enjoys providing the children with opportunities for independent discovery and problem-solving skills. His goal as an educator is to help each child reach their own personal developmental goals and milestones, while exploring and progressing at their own pace.

Ms Delia, Lead Teacher Ms. Delia is a lead teacher in our Dolphins Classroom. Delia is certified in SIDS as well as infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Delia recognizes that children learn best when they are having fun. She creates an entertaining, engaging and creative classroom that promotes learning as well as social, cognitive and emotional development. Children learn to value their differences and feel empowered with self-directed activities.

Ms Kara, Lead Teacher Ms. Kara is a lead teacher in our Sharks classroom. She earned her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She has also earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Kara is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Kara has over 7 years of experience working in the field of early childhood education. She has a strong understanding of the expectations placed on children entering kindergarten and creates an environment to meet the children’s academic, social and emotional developmental milestones.

Ms LaTasha, Lead Teacher Ms. LaTasha is a lead teacher in our Sharks classroom. She earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina A&T State University. She has also completed her North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Ms. LaTasha is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. LaTasha has over 10 years of experience working in the field of early childhood education. As a pre-K teacher, Ms LaTasha provides a learning environment that supports the achievement of academic and social success while encouraging growth at a child’s own pace, in accordance with his/her individual needs and abilities.

Ms Andrea, Assistant Teacher Ms. Andrea is a teacher's assistant. She earned her Early Childhood Credential from Wake Technical College and is currently pursuing her Child Development Associate Credential. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Alexis is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Andrea has over 10 years of experience working with children. Her goal is to help children enjoy books, school and learning as much as she does.

Ms Cheryl, Resource Ms. Cheryl is a teacher's assistant. She is currently enrolled at Wake Technical College where she is pursuing her Early Childhood Credential. In addition to having SIDS training, Cheryl is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Her love for children stems from her modest close-knit family. She enjoys reading stories and playing games with the children.

Ms Emily, Resource Ms. Emily is a teacher's assistant. She is currently a student at Wake Technical Community College where she is pursuing an associate degree in Medical Office Administration. She is certified in infant, child and adult CPR.

She enjoys helping young children learn about the world around.

Ms Kathy, Resource Mrs. Kathy is a Teacher's Assistant for our school. She holds a Bachelor Degree with a dual major in Criminal Justice and Business Management from Southern Vermont College. Kathy is certified in Infant, Child & Adult CPR and First Aid as well as SIDS.

Kathy has been a member of the Goddard family since 2005. Kathy has an extensive background in Business Management but a passion for working with children. She derives great joy and a sense of accomplishment knowing that she is a part of children’s education.

Kathy’s favorite book to read to children is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.
