Diane and Aleksey, Owners Diane and Aleksey are the owners of the Goddard School in Apex. After being in the corporate workforce for over fifteen years, we wanted to own a business that could make a significant contribution to the community by providing an exceptional, high quality preschool experience for children. Diane is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State. She has spent the majority of her professional life working in the pharmaceutical industry. Aleksey was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and has worked as a coach and professional figure skater for over 25 years. We are excited and proud to be a part of the Goddard family. We are committed to providing an experience that will enrich every child's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development, while providing the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Joanna (Curriculum), Director Mrs. Joanna is the Curriculum Director. She earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the Community College of Vermont. Joanna is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR, as well as SIDS. She is a Level II Administrator.

For 30 years, Joanna has been dedicated to providing children with a nurturing environment and engaging opportunities that set the stage for a love of lifelong learning. On a daily basis, she works closely with the teachers to create positive learning environments in the classrooms.

Ms. Joanna’s favorite children’s book is the “The Runaway Bunny” books by Margaret Wise Brown.

Ms Trina (Operations), Director Ms. Trina is the school's Director. Ms. Trina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. She received her NC Early Childhood Education Credential and NC Early Childhood Administration Credential from Wake Technical Community College. Trina is certified in infant, child/adult CPR and SIDS. She is a Level III administrator.

In addition to managing the day to day operation of the school, Trina is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in which children can learn, explore, imagine and discover new skills. Her passion for education ensures the school is using the most current, academically endorsed methods needed for long-term success in school and in life.

Trina loves children and counts each Goddard child as part of her family.

Ms. Trina’s favorite children’s book is the “Snuggle Puppy” books by Sandra Boyton.

Ms Heather , Lead Teacher Ms. Heather is a lead teacher in our Lil' Shrimp Infant classroom. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. She is currently attending Eastern Carolina University where she is pursuing master’s degree in English with an emphasis on Transnational and Multicultural Literature. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Heather is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Heather has over 5 years of experience working with infants. She loves being part of the journey each baby takes as they grow and develop. Her daily activities provide an early learning environment for movement and exploration.

Ms Jennifer, Lead Teacher Ms. Jennifer is a lead teacher in The Guppies classroom. She has been working as an Early Childhood Educator since 2003. Jennifer earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Wake Technical Community College. She is currently attending Grand Canyon University where she is pursuing Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Jennifer is certified in infant and child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Jennifer truly loves working with young children because she is able to watch them learn, develop and grow. She finds it rewarding to be able to assist them on this journey. This is what makes being an Early Childhood Educator so awesome!

Ms Seng, Lead Teacher Ms. Seng is a lead teacher in The Guppies classroom. Seng attended the State University of Fresno where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development.

Ms. Seng has over 8 years of experience working in the early childhood education field. She has a passion for this age group as she enjoys designing activities to encourage the development of gross motor skills. On a daily basis, she teaches the children skills such as pulling, pushing, jumping, hopping, throwing, tossing, catching and climbing to assist in the development of large muscle control.

Ms Shanae, Lead Teacher Ms. Shanae is a lead teacher in The Sea Horses class. Shanae attended Johnston Community College where she earned her NC Early Childhood Credentials. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Shanae is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Shanae has over 10 years experience working in an early childhood education setting. Shanae believes play is critical to the healthy growth and development of children. She enjoys creating a classroom environment where she uses the child’s/children’s interests to guide their learning.

Miss Jami, Lead Teacher Ms. Jami is a lead teacher in our Starfish classroom. She earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the Community College of Vermont. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, Jami is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Jami has over 10 years of experience working with toddlers. She has a passion for this age group as she enjoys designing activities that stimulate their curiosity and inquisitiveness. On a daily basis, she provides interesting materials for the children to explore and will add a surprise to a routine activity.

Ms. Jami’s favorite children’s books are the “Llama, Llama” books by Anna Dewney.

Ms Susie, Lead Teacher Ms. Susie is a lead teacher in The Starfish classroom. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services, with an emphasis on school counseling.

Ms. Susie has enjoyed working with children at all levels, from preschool to twelfth grade, and has appreciated the variety of lessons learned and the wisdom gained! She loves connecting with children and providing support, guidance, love and laughter!

Ms Keshia, Lead Teacher Ms. Keshia is a lead teacher in our Sea Turtles classroom. Keshia attended the University of Rochester where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Music and completed a minor in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She has over five years experience working in the early childhood education field.

Ms. Keshia has worked with children of various ages but loves working with two year olds. As an early childhood educator, Ms. Keshia’s goal is to provide an engaging and fun-loving learning environment that encourages the children in her classroom to reach their respective developmental milestones, while also gaining more independence.

Ms. Keshia’s favorite children’s book is “Wacky Wednesday” by Dr. Seuss."

Ms Marissa, Lead Teacher Ms. Marissa is a lead teacher in our Sea Turtles Classroom. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Winthrop University. Marissa is certified in infant, child/adult CPR and SIDS.

Ms. Marissa loves 2 year olds and enjoys watching the development of the children's different personalities. Her goal is to bring out the best in each child as she challenges them in a fun and positive way. Ms. Marissa enjoys inspiring independence and fostering growth/development so that each child is provided with a strong foundation for learning.

Ms Mary, Lead Teacher Ms. Mary is a lead teacher in our Stingrays classroom. Mary attended Wake Technical Community College where she earned an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

She has over 30 years of experience working in the early childhood education field. Ms. Mary believes that play is the vehicle for exploring and learning, developing new skills, and connecting with others. Her goal is to provide guidance to the children to extend their play and increase their learning.

Ms Michelle, Lead Teacher Ms. Michelle has been teaching at The Goddard School since 2008. She is a lead teacher in The Stingrays classroom.

Ms. Michelle attended Michigan State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development. She then attended Oakland University where she earned her K-5 teaching certification.

Ms. Michelle’s daily goal is to guide her Preschoolers to become independent and engaged while learning. Her long term goals are to continually add resources to the classroom that support the different learning styles of every child in her class.

Ms Shirelyn, Lead Teacher Ms. Shirelyn is a lead teacher in our Jellyfish classroom. She earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Wake Technical Community College. In addition to having completed her SIDS training, she is certified in infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Ms. Shirelyn loves the excitement and challenges that she faces every day as a Preschool teacher. Her goal is to help children enjoy books, school and learning as much as she does.

Ms Emily, Resource Ms. Emily is a teacher's assistant. She is currently a student at Wake Technical Community College where she is pursuing an associate degree in Medical Office Administration. She is certified in infant, child and adult CPR.

She enjoys helping young children learn about the world around.
