Jerry and Misty, Owners Mr. Jerry and Ms. Misty are the on-site owners for The Goddard School located off of Western Avenue in Edmond, Oklahoma. They currently reside in Edmond with their 2 children, Caeden and Avery.

Ms. Misty attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied Child Development and Early Childhood Education and Administration. She is actively involved in the local community and believes it is important that we not only prepare our students for academic success but also teach them about community involvement and service to others. Ms. Misty has served as a consultant for a variety of childcare programs around the metro and is an active member of numerous childcare associations including, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA), Early Childhood Association of Oklahoma (ECAO), the Oklahoma Child Care Association (OCCA), Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) and the National Association of Child Care Professionals (NACCP).

Mr. Jerry attended Drake University in Iowa where he studied Engineering. He joined Ms. Misty at The Goddard School full time in 2018. Mr. Jerry previously worked at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center for 24 years where he served as the Chief of Construction. He loves working at Goddard and enjoys meeting families and seeing the joy on the children's faces as they master new skills and make new friends.

Andrea, Director Ms. Andrea joined our team in February of 2015 and is the Executive Director of The Goddard School on Western. Andrea oversees all aspects of the school operations. She studied Child Development and received a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. Andrea has been working in the early childhood education field since 2004. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and sons Carson and Ryker. They can often be found traveling, going to the park, and swimming. Her favorite thing about working at The Goddard School is the relationships that she builds with the families and she is passionate about providing them with high-quality childcare.

Donny, Director Mr. Donny joined our team in May of 2013 and is the Compliance and School Age Program Director. He received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Oklahoma Christian University and has been teaching children since 2005. In his spare time, Donny enjoys acting, stand-up comedy, and performing improv. He says his favorite children's book is "Yes Day!" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and his favorite thing about working with children is that while he thinks he's teaching the children, they are actually teaching him.

Makayla, Director Ms. Makayla joined our team in 2015 and is the Director of Education and Admissions. She received an Associates Degree in Early Care Education Administration from Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City and has over 7 years of experience in the early childhood education field. In her spare time, Ms. Makayla can often be found spending time taking road trips and camping with her son Boone, husband Levi and dog Tonka. Ms. Makayla is passionate about creating learning environments that allow children to develop their independence through self-help skills. Ms. Makayla's favorite thing about The Goddard School is the F.L.E.X. (Fun Learning Experience) curriculum.

Melissa, Director Ms. Melissa joined our team in 2007 and is our Education Program Director. She obtained a Bachelor's in Museum Studies and has over 15 years of experience in early childhood education. Ms. Melissa enjoys spending her spare time with her husband Robby and three children Makenna, Renae, and Chase. They can often be found traveling around the state looking for new exciting activities. Ms. Melissa's favorite children's book is "The Sneetches" by Dr. Seuss and her favorite thing about teaching is being able to help children grow and making a positive, lasting impression on the students.

Shannon, Director Ms. Shannon joined our team in June of 2017 and is our Administrative Director. She comes to us with over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and has received an Associates degree in Child Development. Ms. Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and two children, Stevee and SJ in her spare time. She can often be found hosting cookouts, shopping, or maintaining an active lifestyle. Ms. Shannon's favorite children's book is "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak and says that her favorite thing about teaching is watching her student's minds open to the world around them and filling their cups with love, respect, and acceptance.

Tara, Director Ms. Tara joined our team in 2013 and is our Admissions Director. She studied Early Childhood Education at Missouri Southern State University and has been working in early childhood education for over 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Ivy, reading, and volunteering with different organizations. Ms. Tara's favorite thing about The Goddard School is being able to give back to the community and building relationships with our families. She is passionate about early childhood education and believes that each child deserves the opportunity for quality education.

Kayla , Assistant Director Ms. Kayla is an Assistant Director for our Education team. She is currently attending Oklahoma City Community College for her associates in Organizational Leadership and has been teaching children since 2010. Ms. Kayla enjoys spending time with her daughter Layla in her spare time. They enjoy reading books together, and their favorite place to go is the science museum. Ms. Kayla's favorite children's book is "Llama Llama Misses Mama" by Anna Dewdney and her favorite thing about teaching is watching the children grow and learn.

Kaelin, Lead Teacher Ms. Kaelin joined our team in 2016 and is a Lead Teacher in our Infant Program. She has received a Bachelors degree in Child Development and a minor in business from The University of Central Oklahoma and has over 6 years of experience in early childhood education. Ms. Kaelin enjoys spending time with her family and friends in her spare time. She can often be found playing with her dog, maintaining an active lifestyle, and traveling. Her favorite children's book is "Don't Push the Button" by Bill Cotter and says her favorite thing about working with children is building relationships with the children and families.

Renee, Lead Teacher Ms. Renee joined our team in February of 2015 and is a Lead Teacher for our Infant Program and was our February 2018 Teacher of the Month! She received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Home Economics with a minor in Business Administration. She has been teaching children since 2005 and has worked for Edmond Public Schools. Ms. Renee enjoys spending time with her friends and two children, Lauren and Lane. She can often be found attending her children's sporting events, reading, and shopping. Ms. Renee says her favorite children's book is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle and says her favorite thing about teaching is interacting and having fun with the students.

Jennifer, Lead Teacher Ms. Jennifer joined our team in February of 2015 and is a Lead Teacher for our Pre-Kindergarden program. She has received a Bachelor's degree in General Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma and was our August 2016 and January 2020 Teacher of the Month. In her spare time, Ms. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her spouse and their two children, Mable and Dillon. Some of their pastimes include swimming, being outside, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Her favorite children's book is "Oh! the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss and says her favorite thing about working with children is being able to assist in their development and watching them grow. She is full of enthusiasm for developmentally appropriate practice and creating a positive learning environment.

Ms. Carla enjoys spending time with her family and watching basketball in her spare time. She can often be found seeing a new movie or attending church. Ms. Carla's favorite children's book is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Eric Carle and her favorite thing about teaching is hearing the children laugh.

Sas, Lead Teacher Ms. Sas joined our team in 2008 and is a Curriculum Resource Specialist and Lead Teacher for our Toddler program. She received a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma and was our January 2019 Teacher of the Month. Ms. Sas enjoys spending time with her husband Trey and three children. She can often be found doing puzzles, reading, swimming, or decorating. Ms. Sas's favorite children's book is "Papa, Please Get the Moon For Me" by Eric Carle and says that her favorite thing about teaching is seeing children understand something they have been working on and experiencing their happy moments.

Kady, Lead Teacher Ms. Kady joined our team in November of 2017 and is an Lead Teacher in our Toddler program. She is currently working towards a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and was our April 2019 Teacher of the Month. She can often be found reading, painting, or playing with her three children. Ms. Kady's favorite children's book is "Are You My Mother?" by P.D. Eastman and says her favorite thing about working with children is watching their personalities blossom.

Melodie, Lead Teacher Ms. Melodie joined our team in 2011 and is a Lead Teacher for our First Steps program. She is currently working towards a Bachelors degree in Child Development and has over 17 years of experience in early childhood education. Ms. Melodie enjoys spending time with her family, including three older sisters and two younger sisters. She can often be found spending time with her eight nieces and nephews, scrapbooking, and attending entertainment conventions. Ms. Melodie's favorite children's book is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr. and she says her favorite thing about teaching is learning each child's thought process and watching their brains work when learning new material.

She is a currently a student at the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a degree in Child and Family Studies. Reginnia , Lead Teacher Ms. Tonie joined our team in 2018 and is a Lead Teacher in our First Steps Program and our September 2019 Teacher of the Month! She has over 5 years of experience in child care and is excited to begin her career at The Goddard School. In her spare time, Ms. Tonie enjoys spending time with friends and going shopping! Prettia, Lead Teacher Ms. Prettia joined our team in 2020 and is a Lead Teacher in our First Steps Program. She is currently attending Oklahoma State University where she is pursuing a degree in Child Development and she has over 4 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, Ms. Prettia enjoys doing yoga and taking long bubble baths. Her favorite children's book is "Junie B. Jones and her Big Fat Mouth" by Barbara Park and her favorite thing about working with children is watching them become independent.

Bicki, Lead Teacher Ms. Bicki joined our team in 2019 and is a Lead Teacher in our Toddler Program. She has received an Associates Degree in Family Services and Child Development from Oklahoma City Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership and is currently attending Southern Nazarene University to further her education in Child Development. Her favorite children's book is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein and her favorite part about working with children is having the opportunity to see the world through the children's eyes, while maintaining a pure heart and kind demeanor.

Krissy , Lead Teacher Ms. Krissy joined our team in August of 2015. She is a Lead Teacher for our Toddler Program and was our October 2019 Teacher of the Month. She received an Early Care and Education Master Teacher Certificate and is currently enrolled at OSU-OKC to pursue an Associates degree in Child Development. Ms. Krissy enjoys spending time with her extended family in her spare time. She can often be found reading, shopping, traveling, volunteering at The Boys and Girls Club, and remodeling houses. She says her favorite children's book is "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss and her favorite thing about working with children is making a positive impact on the future by shaping the early years of childhood.

Shermaine, Lead Teacher Shermaine joined our team in 2019 and is a Lead Teacher in our Preschool Program. She has an Associates Degree from the University of the Virgin Islands and Keiser University in Health Service Administration and a Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Shermaine has been working with children in different settings for the past five years. In her spare time she likes to read, bake with her grandchildren, and learning sign language. Shermaine's favorite thing about working with children is how excited they get when they learn something new and she loves seeing each child develop their own individuality.

She has received a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Sara has almost 3 years of experience in early childhood education and can often be found fishing, writing short stories, or rescuing hedgehogs. She received her QMAP Nursing certification in Colorado and is excited to begin her career at The Goddard School. Darla, Assistant Teacher Ms. Darla joined our team in May of 2013 and is a Lead Teacher in our Infant program. She has over 17 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and recently received her Child Development Associates. Ms. Darla enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found shopping, traveling, crafting, and decorating. Her favorite children's book is "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" by Mo Willems and she loves watching her students thrive throughout the year.

Debbie, Assistant Teacher Ms. Debbie joined our team in August of 2016 and is an Assistant Teacher in our Infant Program and our July 2019 Teacher of the Month! She has over 11 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and has always had a heart for children. Ms. Debbie enjoys spending time with her family including her husband of 32 years, their four daughters, and eight grandchildren. Her favorite vacation spot is anywhere on the beach and in her spare time enjoys decorating and crafting. Her favorite children's stories are "Good Night Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown and anything by Dr. Seuss and her favorite part about working with infants is helping them to hit their developmental milestones.

She recently graduated from Epic Charter Schools and plans to attend Oklahoma State University to become a Veterinarian. In her spare time, Ms. Kelli enjoys playing with her dogs, hedgehogs and spending time with her family. Ms. Kelli's favorite children's book is "The Velveteen Rabbit" by: Margery Williams and her favorite part about working with children is being a crucial part of their growth and development and seeing the joy they experience when they learn new things.

She loves anything that involves D.I.Y, cooking, and doing hair. She loves working with children and is often found reading "Oh! the Places You Will Go" by Dr. Seuss. Ms. Stacie's favorite part about working with children is watching them grow into beautiful little humans with their own minds.

She is currently attending Oklahoma City Community College to obtain a degree in General Studies and will be transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall to pursue a degree in Child Development. Celia, Resource Ms. Celia joined our team in 2019 and is a Resource Teacher in our Infant Program. She has over a year of experience in child development and is excited to join our team! Ms. Celia is currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education and hopes to become a Kindergarten teacher. In her spare time, Ms. Celia enjoys shopping, watching movies and hanging out with her friends. Courtney , Resource Ms. Courtney joined our team in 2018 and is a Resource Teacher in our First Steps Program. She is currently attending The University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a degree in Secondary Education. In her spare time, Ms. Courtney enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, watching documentaries and writing. Ms. Courtney's favorite children's book is "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by: Jeff Kinney and her favorite thing about working with children is watching them grow!

Darien, Resource Ms. Darien joined our team in 2019 and is an Assistant Teacher in our Infant Program. She is currently attending The University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a degree in Nursing with the hopes of one day becoming a Pediatric Physical Assistant. In her spare time, Ms. Darien enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going on walks. Her favorite children's book is "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and her favorite thing about working with children is being able to build a relationship with them and being able to see them grow and accomplish milestones.

Denise, Resource Ms. Denise joined our team in 2013 and is a Resource Teacher in our Preschool Program. She received a Nursing Assistant Certificate from the University of Illinois and spent four years as a Red Cross Volunteer Dental Assistant. Ms. Denise has been teaching children since 1977 in military and civilian child development centers. In her spare time, she enjoys watching old movies and spending time with her family, especially her nine grandchildren. She says her favorite children's book is "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?" by Eric Carle and her favorite thing about teaching is helping the children develop important life skills.

She is currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma where she is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and has over 3 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, Ms. Ellie enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and shopping. Her favorite children's book is "The Little Engine That Could" by: Wattie Piper and her favorite thing about working with children is their positive energy and the love they have for others!

Emili, Resource Ms. Emili joined our team in 2018 and is a Resource Teacher in our Toddler Program. She has over two years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Emili is currently attending The University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a degree in English Education. In her spare time, Ms. Emili enjoys attending concerts, painting and hanging out with her friends and family. Ms. Emili's favorite children's book is "There's a Nightmare in My Closet" by: Mercer Mayer and her favorite part about working with children is how their different personalities develop as they grow into individuals.

Gloria, Resource Ms. Gloria joined our team in 2019 and is our full-time Foreign Language Teacher. She has received a degree in Early Childhood Education and has over 10 years of experience in childcare. Ms. Gloria prepares and leads developmentally appropriate lessons for every classroom at The Goddard School (including infants.) In her spare time, Ms. Gloria enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exercising. She says her favorite children's book is "Pinkalicious" by: Victoria Kann and her favorite part about teaching Spanish is helping the children develop a skill that will last a lifetime.

She is currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma where she is pursuing a degree in Nursing and she has over 3 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She has received an Associates Degree in Enterprise Development from Rose State and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in General Education from The University of Central Oklahoma. In her spare time, Ms. Presley enjoys going to the lake, hiking, camping and hanging out with her friends and family. Ms. Presley's favorite children's book is "Hop on Pop" by: Dr. Seuss and her favorite part about working with children is getting to be a crucial part of their early development.
