Assistant Teachers are responsible for ensuring compliance with Goddard's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Our Lead Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes and the Assistants help to implement the lesson plans. Most importantly, the Lead and Assistant, together, create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

Responsibilities and Duties
•Our Leads and Assistants work together in a Team Teaching environment to:

•Working closely with the Lead Teacher
•Parent communication.
•Participation in staff and training meetings.
•Supporting appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
•Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
•Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level.
•Implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
•Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
•Building teamwork.
•Using assessment tools.
•Committing to continuing education.

A lead teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
• Design an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
• Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
• Ensure that classroom equipment is in good repair
• Understand and implement The Goddard School® emergency procedure(s)
