Meet your on-site owner of The Goddard School® in Brooklyn Park, Tina Joens. Tina has worked in the Early Childhood field for over 30 years. In 1988 she began her career in the military with her husband, where they were stationed in England. She has worked all over the country in Military Child Development Centers. Tina earned her Child Development Associate degree in 1991 at Boise State University. In 1996 Tina and family (daughter, Jordyn, husband David) moved from New Mexico back to Minnesota. Since that time she has worked in several corporate centers in the metro area and also managed her own home childcare program for 5 years. She looks forward to working with all the children, parents, and staff to provide the best education for the children at The Goddard School.

Mrs Tara, Director Director
Tara has been the Director of The Goddard School® in Brooklyn Park since it opened in 2006. She lives in Isanti with her husband David, son Cadyn and daughter Talyn. She graduated from the University of North Dakota (Go Sioux!!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Education and a minor in Aviation Administration. Currently she is working on finishing her last paper to complete a Master’s in Education from St. Mary’s University. Before coming to Goddard she was a child care consultant and worked with numerous centers throughout the Twin Cities and East Central Minnesota troubleshooting problem areas. Tara's previous experience was the role of a Director of Early Education for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. Their program encompassed, Head Start, Early Head Start, Even Start, Learning Readiness, ECFE and child care all into one program that serviced children and families in three districts. Tara appreciates having the opportunity to get to know all the families that are a part of the Goddard family.

Ms Laurie, Assistant Director Assistant Director
Laurie is the Assistant Director at The Goddard School® in Brooklyn Park and has worked here since February 2009. She studied Early Childhood Education at Arapahoe Community College and has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 30 years. She's been involved with the The Goddard School Program since 2003 and her past experience started as a home daycare provider. She then transitioned to a teaching role and then as a Director at The Goddard School in Colorado. In 2009 Laurie moved to Minnesota and began working in the First Steps classroom and then transitioned to a Supervisor position, and currently Assistant Director. She is so thrilled to be able to continue her work with young children here in Minnesota.

Ms J. Madeline, Lead Teacher Infant One Classroom - Closing Supervisor
Maddie attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She has been working with children for 10 years and has experience with all age groups. Maddie has worked in the childcare industry under many hats including Lead Teacher, Assistant Director and Director and loves to share her experiences with others. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors with her boyfriend and their dog, Avery. She is excited to be apart of the Goddard team!

Ms Krystyna, Lead Teacher Infant One Classroom
Krystyna completed her student internship at the Goddard School during the Summer of 2017, while she was attending Hennepin Technical College. She received her diploma in Early Childhood Education and plans to continue her education in the future to obtain her Associates Degree. Krystyna has always loved taking care of children and could not have been more excited to begin working here at the Goddard School and to gain experience for her early childhood career.

Mr Robert, Lead Teacher Infant Two Classroom
Rob has worked with young children since 1994. He attended North Hennepin Tech College and has his CDA in Child Development. Rob has worked with all ages from Infants to School Age. He began working at the Goddard School in August 2017 and looks forward to working with and getting to know the children and their families.

Ms Anitra, Lead Teacher Infant Two Classroom
Anitra has been in the teaching field since 2001. She attended Hennepin Technical College and received a degree in Child Development in 2002. Anitra's experience at Goddard started in the Infant Room in August 2010. It is her passion to take care of children and watch them learn and develop. Each new day is fascinating as she gets to know each child's own uniqueness.

Ms Shaqwete, Lead Teacher First Steps Classroom
Shaqwete began working at The Goddard School in September of 2016. She has been working in childcare for since 2012 with children ages One to Six. She graduated from Rasmussen College in 2014 with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood. Shaqwete plans on going back to get her Bachelors, so that she can obtain a teaching license. She just loves getting the chance to be able to make a difference in a child’s life and being able to watch them grow is a privilege.

Ms Alyssa, Lead Teacher Toddler Classroom
Alyssa has been working with children since 2015 in a variety of early childhood settings. She started at Goddard in the Fall of 2020 to kick off that school year. Alyssa has experience with all ages but found a calling to teach infants and toddlers. Her passion of bringing creativity into the classroom is seen in the children's enthusiasm as they latch onto a new idea or a new approach to a traditional activity. Alyssa also collaborates with her family on events to bring to the classroom. She is looking forward to this school year with all the Toddlers.

Ms Jessica, Lead Teacher Toddler Classroom
In High School, Jessica tutored Elementary children in Math and Reading, which sparked her passion for working with children. She later went on to study Early Childhood Education at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, where she also received her Paraprofessional License. Jessica began teaching at The Goddard School® in January 2015. She looks forward to helping all of the children in her classroom learn and grow.

Ms Kori, Lead Teacher Toddler Classroom
Kori attended Lake Superior Technical College for two years, completing her generals and studying Occupational Therapy before transferring to St. Cloud Technical College, where she received her A.A.S. degree in Child and Adult Care & Education in 2003. Kori has worked in a variety of Educational settings throughout her career, working with Early Ed up to High School age. She was a Toddler teacher and a Pre K teacher as well as a Safety Monitor at another Childcare center for over two years, before coming to the Goddard school in the Summer of 2006. Kori has worn many hats over the years, building experience working in all of the classrooms, as well as in the office. She left the Goddard school in 2013, but returned in 2016 when she was expecting her first child. Now that Kori has two little ones she knew that the Goddard School would provide exceptional care for her children and could not imagine bringing them anywhere else.

Sahira graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Cloud University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Sahira enjoys working with the Toddler Teaching team and looks forward to everyday with the terrific two year olds!

Ms Louise, Lead Teacher Preschool Classroom
Louise began her involvement with young children in high school by becoming a mentor to the parents of young children in the high school daycare. In 2017, she started working as an assistant and then a lead toddler teacher in licensed childcare centers. Louise is currently working on a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Rasmussen college. Her personal goal as a teacher is to help children grow successfully, she feels that they are our future and are the most important people, so we must take care of their social, physical and educational needs.

Ms Susan, Lead Teacher Preschool Classroom
Susan graduated from the college of St. Catherine with a degree B.A. degree in Elementary Education. She has 20 years experience teaching preschool through high school, along with being a mom herself. Susan has taught from the north- Minnesota to the south- New Mexico. She loves catering to the unique educational needs of each child and looks forward to helping your child learn and grow.

Ms Autumn, Lead Teacher Pre K Blue Classroom
Autumn graduated from South Dakota State University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences. Autumn majored in ECE with a specialization in ages birth through eight. She has been working with children for the past eight years. She has had many field experiences in special education and student teaching. Autumn is excited to be living in Minnesota with her new husband and two kitties. She cannot wait to make great relationships with her students and have a great year!

Ms Shelby, Lead Teacher Pre K Blue Classroom
Shelby was an intern a the Goddard School before she was hired in November of 2011. She always wanted to work with children ever since she was little and began her career in 2010 working as an assistant teacher in a small church preschool. Shelby attended Rasmussen College taking classes in Early Childhood Development and in her past 10 years at Goddard she has worn many hats from an Intern, a Toddler Teacher, to Kitchen Manager, while doing these jobs she gained invaluable experience working with children. She is excited to be back in the classroom full time with the 4 year olds that she likely had while working in Toddlers several years ago.

Ms Hetal, Lead Teacher Pre K Red Classroom
Hetal has a Master’s Degree in Arts & Sociology from India. She worked for 4 years as an elementary school teacher focusing on Math and History. Due to her exceptional work with school age children she won the “Best Teacher Award” at the Ode Elementary School. Once in Minnesota she began volunteering in Mounds View public school district. This desire to help children succeed is what motivated her to join the Goddard teaching team. Hetal enjoys working with young children because they learn new things so quickly, it is always a challenge to keep up with their happy and energetic attitudes.

Ms Laure, Lead Teacher Pre K Red Classroom
Laure graduated from the University of Eau Claire with an Elementary Degree. After staying with her kids while they were young, she started substitute teaching in the Osseo School District and part time at The Goddard School® in 2006. She realized her true passion was working with the younger ages and began working full time at the Goddard School in August of 2012. Laure also works in restaurant management training in new managers. In her spare time, Laure loves reading, working out and watching almost any kind of sport! She has two wonderful children and is very glad to be teaching here!

Ms Bria, Assistant Teacher Support Staff Infants
Bria has been working in childcare since 2013 and is thrilled to be given the opportunity at Goddard School to help the children and infants grow and learn. The best part of her day is when she sees the infants exploring their tiny world and helping them find success in mastering a new skill. Bria uses her teaching skills from the classroom to help her nieces develop an adventurous spirit for lifelong learning.

Ms Kristina, Resource Kitchen Manager
Kristina, graduated with an AA degree in Human Services but she wanted more and is now back in school working on a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Kristina also has a Minor in Sign Language and has been honing her Sign Language skills for the past five years. She has also enjoyed working with children since she was twelve years old and just recently was a nanny of an infant and three year old. One of Kristina's community involvement activities is to be a representative for the Minneapolis college with an organization called Lead Minnesota, that helps college students succeed in their degree and pursuit of a career. Kristina is pleased to be part of The Goddard School program.

Maren, Resource Office Aide
Maren attended Coon Rapides High School and also did her internship at Fairview Lakes, Wyoming as part of the Project Search Initiative. Maren enjoys working with children and has a great rapport with people of all ages. One of Maren's best attributes is her amazing memory and she prides herself on knowing all of the children and parent names (pets too) as well as their favorite things to do! She is excited to be a part of the Goddard School team.
