Calling all educators! How do you inspire children to learn? Your answer could be worth $10,000! We encourage current and aspiring teachers to apply for the Ready. Set. Teach! scholarship. You will be entered to win one of three $10,000 scholarships.

The READY. SET. TEACH! Scholarship will provide three individual $10,000 merit-based scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year.

 

Scholarships will be awarded to the following*:

• Current Goddard School Employee (Infant through Preschool): $10,000

• Current Goddard School Employee (Pre-K through Kindergarten/School-Age): $10,000

• Aspiring Teacher (not currently employed by The Goddard School): $10,000

 

*Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the recipients’ college, university, or 529 plan only.

ESSAY SUBMISSION

Tell us about your demonstrated ability in working with preschool age children and demonstrated leadership ability regarding child advocacy on campus and/or community. Include specific examples to support your essay. Please submit your answer (500 to 1000 words) with this application.

 

SUBMISSION

Applicants must submit the application form, essay and a 30- to 120-second video per the instructions (See “Scholarship Rules and Criteria”). Convince us that you’re highly qualified and committed by addressing both of the following:

 

• What has inspired you to become a teacher?

• How will you use your passion to inspire children?

SCHOLARSHIP RULES AND CRITERIA

• The applicant must submit a transcript from all colleges and/or universities attended with his or her application. The transcripts must each indicate a cumulative GPA. Applicants must not include (or blackout) any personal identifying information such social security numbers.

• Goddard Systems, Inc. may verify the information the applicant provides.

• The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident or a non-U.S. citizen living legally in the United States.

• The applicant must provide one 30- to 120-second video addressing the questions: what has inspired you to become a teacher and how will you use your passion to inspire children?

• Video size should be 1280 x 720 pixels; we strongly recommend against compressing your videos. Videos longer than 120 will not be considered, and the corresponding application will be considered incomplete. Video essays should be saved to a USB drive or DVD and mailed with the completed application.

• The video submitted with each application must be the original work of the applicant and may not contain the work, including the intellectual property, of others, such as non-original music.

• A completed scholarship application must be postmarked by August 1, 2019. Applications that are not complete (applications that do not have a completed and signed application, essay, video and transcript(s)) by August 1, 2019 will not be considered. Mail scholarship applications to ATTN: Ready. Set. Teach! Scholarship, Goddard Systems, Inc., 1016 West Ninth Ave., Suite 140, King of Prussia, PA 19406. The applicant should notify Goddard Systems, Inc. promptly if any of the information submitted on or with the application changes after its submission.

• The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the funds available and the applicants’ eligibility. The awards are for one time only.

• The recipient must use the scholarship to study early childhood education, elementary education or child development (or a related field) at an accredited college or university of the recipient’s choice.

• Neither Goddard Systems, Inc. employees or their family members, or Goddard School franchisees or their family members are eligible.

• The scholarship finalists will be selected based on their academic records, expressed goals and aspirations, essays and the videos they submit. Financial need is not considered. The decisions of the scholarship committee relating to the selection are final, and information relating to the committee’s evaluation of any particular applicant will be confidential. The applicant agrees to accept the final decision of the scholarship committee.

• The scholarship finalists and recipients will be selected without regard to race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs, or any other factor that could constitute unfair or illegal discrimination.

• The finalists for the scholarships will be selected and notified on or before September 9, 2019 and announced on Goddard System, Inc.'s social media accounts by September 9, 2019. The recipients will be selected and announced on or before September 9, 2019. Only three recipients will be selected.

• The applications and other parts of the submitted application packages will be the property of Goddard Systems, Inc. and will not be returned to the applicants.

 

Goddard Systems, Inc. reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship and to make changes, which may include the termination of the scholarship, at any time.
