Ms Emily, Director Hi! my name is Ms. Emily. I have been at Goddard since June 2019. I always wanted to be a teacher! I received my B.A. in Human Development with a minor in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University. I also have my Early Childhood Directors License through the State of Colorado. I have been teaching in early childhood education for more than 12 years. I taught at another Goddard School for eight years. Outside of work I love spending time with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. We all enjoy swimming, biking, hiking, camping, and visiting family. We love cooking dinner and baking cookies together. I love gardening, reading and watching movies in my down time.

Ms Emily

Ms Sylvia, Director Hi, my name is Sylvia Ekkert. I am the Curriculum Coordinator at the Goddard School. I have been a part of the Goddard school since 2017. I enjoy planning and coming up with new ideas to make learning activities effective and exciting for children. I received my Bachelors of Science from Western Illinois University and my Master of Arts in Teaching from Austin Peay State University. I have taught various grades of elementary school and have taught preschool in Germany to military children. I have also been a lead teacher at the Goddard School. Strength training is a passion of mine and I enjoyed working out so much that I became a certified personal trainer. I also have a love for traveling and exploring places I have never been before with my husband and two dogs.

Ms Sylvia

Joanne, Assistant Director My name is Joanne Ritter and I'm an Office Manager. I've worked in Early Childhood Education for the past 24 years in various departments such as teaching, social work, family advocacy and also as a service coordinator. I have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. I am married with 3 young adults, one at home and two residing out of state. I love spending time with family and friends, and gardening. I enjoy baking, listening to gospel music, and "ME" time when the opportunity presents itself. My goal is life is to live a life worthy of the calling I have received, and to be a mire reflection of the Father's Heart while serving with Humility and Love.

Ms Anne, Lead Teacher Hello - My name is Anne Kelley! I was born and raised in the sunshine state of Florida! I have has an amazing opportunity to be part of the Early Childhood Education field since 1980. Through the years I have been so blessed to help and guide children as they grew socially, emotionally and academically and through creativity. I've also gained insight and understanding of 'life' when other times seeing things through their eyes. I have worked with all ages - 6 weeks to 4 year olds. I taught for 23 years before acquiring certification and credentials to Direct a center, and then did so for 15 years. In 2018, I relocated to the this beautiful state of Colorado and continued my career in Goddard school colorado springs. I absolutely love and respect the unique gifts and talents of each staff member. They are A, 100% qualified and they give their "all' to the students. Our Administrative staff/ Management team is wonderful as well. Always available to jump in with help, suggestions, time and energy. My position is a multi-age specialist. When not on site at the Goddard School - I enjoy travel, photography, cooking, and spending time with my 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Ms Anne

Brandice, Lead Teacher Hello! My name is Ms. Brandi, and I am the new Lead Teacher in the Cub classroom. I am very excited to be joining The Goddard School of Colorado Springs! I have my Bachelor of Innovation in Inclusive Early Childhood Education from UCCS! I am also infant lead supervisor qualified . I have been teaching preschool for the last six years both in private centers and the school district. Although I enjoy working with all ages, infant care is where my heart is the happiest. Outside of work I love to spend time with my husband and sweet hound dog, Willow! We enjoy going for hikes and being active outside.


Ms Kaitlin, Lead Teacher Hello, My name is Kaitlin McCranie. I am the LEAD teacher in the Infant/ Cubs Room. I have been in childcare for about 5 years, with 4 years experience working with Infants.I moved to Colorado Springs in 2017 from Texas. I love to hike, shop, and watch movies in my spare time. Since I moved, going back home to see family is my favorite thing. I have my Child Development Associate for Infant/ Toddler. I am very excited to be part of the Goddard School.

Ms Kaitlin

Athena, Lead Teacher Hello, my name is Athena Meyers. I am the new Monkey room Teacher. I am very excited to be here at the Goddard School of Colorado Springs. My family moved here to Colorado back in 1993 from California. I started in childcare by helping my aunt in the two-three year old classroom at our church then went on to work at different childcare locations. I have been in childcare for more than 14 years. I am lead qualified, and look forward to working with you all.


Ms Nathalie, Lead Teacher Hi! My name is Nathalie Fundora. I am the First steps LEAD teacher in the Monkey Room. I've been lucky to call Goddard home since July 2016, I have always enjoyed working with children and taking the task\challenge with teaching children. I graduated with a Bachelors in Child Development\ Psychology in 2016. I grew up in Orlando and my playground was Disney. I love Disney singing, and anything outdoors. I love food and have been in many competitions with my mother, who is a professional chef. My first language is Spanish and i learned English Sign Language when i was 14. For my family, Its just my Mom- Marcia, Dad-Aldo and my older brother- Thomals. We are very close. I look forward to the years of learning, growth and challenges in this career and meeting wonderful children and families.

Ms Nathalie

Claudya, Lead Teacher Hello, I am Ms. Claudya and I am thrilled to be the new Zebra teacher! I have a Bachelors degree in Child Development and I am working on a dual Masters in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. I have six years experience in childcare, and I am so excited to join the Goddard School team!


Ms Courtney, Lead Teacher Hi! My name is Courtney Young. I am the LEAD teachers in the Get Set/ Zebra Room. I started working in childcare 3 years ago in Kansas City and I have loved working with kids ever since. I graduated high school with an associates in General studies and an Associates in Arts. I also have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, I found Psychology to be very interesting and I like looking at how children think. One of my goals for myself is to implement what I have learned in Psychology to help me better my ways of teaching the kids and helping them learn in new and exciting ways. I want the children to love learning as much as I do and to push their creativity. Another goal of mine is to attain my Child Development Associates Degree and must continue to grow as a teacher and within Goddard. I am so excited to be a Zebra teacher and i cant wait to see what happens next! I am so glad to be a part of the Goddard Family!

Ms Courtney

Ms Jean, Lead Teacher My name is Ms. Jean Schuchmann, I joined our Goddard Team in May of 2015. I am the classroom LEAD teacher in the first steps/ Monkey Room since 2015. I have worked in childcare one way or another since my sons (now 39 & 37) where in grade school. One of my greatest joys in seeing a child grow from an infant to a toddler. First Steps, first words, making friends, guessing out how things work and becoming accomplished and successful. My passions are gardening and photography and combining the two. I also like to get out in nature and take photographs. I have also done maternity, newborn and senior photo shoots.

Ms Jean

Christina , Assistant Teacher Hello, my name is Christina Slvis, I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I was born in Greeley and moved to Woodland Park when I was four. I have now relocated to Colorado Springs and absolutely love it here! I have worked as a CNA, and a Registered Behavioral Therapist. I love working with children and watching them grow. I am married and have one cat and one dog. In my free time I love to be outdoors with my family and doing puzzles.


Hailey, Assistant Teacher Hello, my name is Hailey Mills and I recently relocated to Colorado Springs from Texas. I graduated from Abilene Christian University in May 2019 with a Bachelors in Social Studies Education. History is a passion of mine as well as getting young minds excited for learning! I am excited to work for the Goddard School and further my career in childcare.
