Andrew & Mary Fratini, Owners Hello, we are Andrew and Mary Fratini, proud owners of the NAEYC Accredited Goddard School® located in Skokie, Illinois. We are thrilled to be able to provide The Goddard School’s outstanding program to the children and families in the North Shore.

Andrew is a graduate of The University of Dayton with a degree in Electronic Media. Before opening The Goddard School, Andrew spent his career in the healthcare industry working as a Director of Client Success for a healthcare software company. Mary graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Finance before working in sales and event marketing for eighteen years.

Recognizing the need and demand for a high quality alternative to daycare, we decided to open the Goddard School in August of 2016. Very simply our mission is to offer families the absolute best preschool for early childhood development. We are also committed to providing an eco-friendly environment for our students and are proud to be offering an organic food program.

We invite your family to visit our beautiful, NAEYC Accredited school in Skokie. Ms Arianna, Director EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Ms. Arianna graduated with honors from DePaul University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Arianna is responsible for everything relating to education, curriculum, staff development and child development. She comes to The Goddard School with over 10 year's experience working with young children ranging in ages from infancy to school age. Prior to joining the Goddard family, Arianna spent five years as Executive Director of an Early Childhood Center in Chicago.

"I believe that children grow and nourish in a positive and engaging environment. Our role as early childhood educators is to guide children through their discovery of the world around them by providing meaningful and fun experiences. I believe that communication is a key factor in the success of a child and therefore encourage those lines to be open between myself, the teachers and parents."

Ms Julie, Director DIRECTOR: CURRICULUM & FAMILY RELATIONS - Ms. Julie has been actively involved with Early Childhood Education over the past two decades. She has had the privilege of working with children ranging from 6 weeks through 6 years. She is thrilled to a part of The Goddard School and she looks forward to encouraging a sense of wonder and exploration within each child, as their world unfolds. Ms. Julie loves nature, photography, sports and cultural arts. She is inspired as she witnesses her own 3 children, her grandson and her students grow and change, each different, and special in their own unique way. Ms. Julie believes learning is a lifelong adventure. She is enriched as she sees children begin on their journey with their eyes, minds, hearts and souls open ready to learn and discover.

Ms Jene', Assistant Director ASSISTANT DIRECTOR-OPERATIONS - Ms. Jene’ has been actively involved with Early Childhood Education for the past 26 years. Prior to joining The Goddard School in Skokie in 2017, Ms. Jene’ spent 8 years at The Goddard School in Round Lake, IL., first as a lead Pre-K teacher and then as a Director Designee. Ms. Jene’ believes that every child is unique and can learn at their own pace. As early childhood educators, she believes that teachers should make learning fun for the children and the children will succeed. Ms. Jene’ has her CDA in Early Childhood Education, her Associate’s Degree from Rasmussen College and is working towards her Bachelor’s Degree with the ultimate goal of becoming a Center Director. Her favorite children’s book is Please Mr. Panda and in her free time, Ms. Jene’ enjoys cooking, going to movies, spending time with family and friends and making crafts.

Ms Nebiat , Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Ms. Nebiat has over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and joins us mostly recently from a center in Evanston. Nebiat spent over 16 years at a center in Chicago where she assisted Infant, Toddler and Preschool rooms. She loves encouraging children to actively play and explore. Ms. Nebiat earned her Associates Degree in Child Development from Truman College in Chicago, Il.

Ms Urszula , Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Urszula is from Poland and started working at The Goddard School in 2016 as an Infant teacher. She obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Triton College. Urszula is looking forward to returning as a Resource Teacher.

Urszula believes that each child is an individual and as a teacher she values each child’s needs and abilities. “I believe each child learns through play, and I am responsible for providing children with a positive learning experience.” Her favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, bike riding, and travelling to new and exciting places.

Erica, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Erica is from Evanston and has her Bachelors’ Degree in Communication from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Ms. Erica has worked as a summer camp counselor at a community center prior to starting at Goddard. Ms. Erica believes in encouraging children to be who they want to be and to learn through exploration. “I believe a nurturing environment helps children learn successfully and develop necessary life skills”. Her favorite book is If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. In her spare time, Ms. Erica loves to read and blog.

Mrs Guadalupe, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER - Guadalupe brings over 5 years of Early Childhood Experience to The Goddard School. She received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from St. Augustine College. Guadalupe believes that the safety of the children is very important. She also believes that babies absorb every sound, sight, smell, taste and touch and touch around them. The communication involves not only words but with the tone of your voice and body language. In her spare time, Guadalupe loves to be outside with her three- year old sister and be spend time with her husband. Her favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin Jr. Guadalupe is very excited to be a part of The Goddard School!

Ms Kelly, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Kelly is from Northbrook, IL and has her Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing from Roosevelt University. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Kelly worked at the Northbrook Park District for 8 years with children preschool through school age. Kelly believes all children should be provided with a positive learning environment that allows them to play and explore. Kelly’s goal is to provide a comfortable classroom setting for each individual student. Her favorite book is Pete The Cat. In her spare time, Kelly loves to cook (not bake), spend time with her family and friends and play with her German Shepard puppy.

Ms Sarena, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Sarena is from Waukegan and received her Bachelors’ Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters’ Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Ms. Sarena believes in providing a safe, nurturing and learning environment for all children. An environment where all children feel a sense of belonging where they can be creative as well as learn and grow. Sarena’s favorite children’s books are the Llama, Llama series. In her spare time, Sarena enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing and shopping. She is excited to be a part of our Goddard team.

Ms Darris, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER- Darris brings over 14 years of Early Childhood Experience to The Goddard School. She has her Child Development Associate Credential and is currently working towards her degree. Darris believes that every child learns through exploring and play. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, traveling and going to the movies. Her favorite book is The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Darris is very excited to be a part of The Goddard School!

Ms Molly, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Molly is from Winnetka, IL. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from The University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign and has a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from DePaul University.

Prior to joining The Goddard School, Molly was a preschool and Private Kindergarten Teacher in the area. In addition to working in the school system, Molly is a Board Chair for a local youth organization that promotes the Arts for teens.

Molly loves watching children learn through play. She believes young children engage in learning most meaning through play and direct exploration. Molly believes the teacher’s role is to guide and model this process through their expertise in designing learning experiences that are both inviting and challenging. Molly’s favorite children’s book is The Snowy Day By Ezra Jack Keats. As for hobbies, Molly loves painting, Yoga, playing and listening to music.

Mrs Debi, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Debi is from Buffalo Grove and has over 24 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Debi has her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and at one point ran her own in home program for over 13 years. Debi believes that every child’s needs are different. It is important for her to form meaningful relationships with each child and family as it ensures her ability to guide them in a way that is most beneficial to them. Debi’s favorite children’s book is “I Love You Forever”. In her spare time, Debi enjoys reading, walking and playing the piano.

Ms Elisa, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Elisa is from Chicago and has her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Concordia University. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Elisa worked in an Early Childhood Center in River Forest.

Elisa believes that no child is the same as another. We should take the time to understand them as individual children and offer them a safe and fun learning educational environment.

Elisa’s favorite children’s book is The Three Little Pigs. In her spare time, Elisa enjoys playing sports, drawing, dancing and singing.

Emely, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Ms. Emely lives in Chicago and has her Associate Degree in Early Child Development from Truman College. She has a passion for working with children and wanted to become a teacher to be a part of children’s lives. Ms. Emely believes that every child is important and unique. “No child should ever feel less than or not a part of a group. Children are all so special in many ways. Children need our attention and love.” Ms. Emely’s favorite book is Pete The Cat: I Love My White Shoes. In her spare time, Ms. Emely enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going shopping and watching movies.

Isebel, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Isebel is from Indiana and now lives in Chicago. Isebel has her Bachelors’ Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. She joins us with experience as a Pre-school teacher, Kindergarten teacher and summer camp counselor.

Isebel believes that learning for young children should be playful and enjoyable. If children are having fun and like being at school, they are much more likely to develop a love of learning. Her favorite book is Good Dog, Carl. In her free time, Ms. Isbel enjoys reading, playing with her dog and going to the beach, and visiting family and friends.

Chrissy, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Chrissy is from Niles and has her Child Development Associates in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College. Ms. Chrissy joins us with over twenty years of experience in the early childhood field.

Ms. Chrissy believes that children learn best through play. Play being explorative hands-on experiences that children find enjoyable. “I also believe they need consistency with love and guidance.” Her favorite book is If you Give A Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeraoff. In her free time, Ms. Chrissy enjoys collecting Hot Wheels cars, reading, watching TV and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs Tracey, Lead Teacher RESOURCE– Ms. Tracey is from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and currently lives in Chicago. Ms. Tracey has her Bachelors’ Degree from the University of North Park College and holds her Type 04 Teaching License. Prior to working at The Goddard School, Tracey worked as a preschool teacher for twenty plus years.

Tracey believes that children are naturally curious and so eager to learn. “Each child should be looked at as an individual so as a teacher I try to set up a learning environment with a variety of activities to help each child reach their full potential.” As for her favorite children’s book, it is Friends by Helen Heine. In her spare time, Tracey enjoys reading, drawing, painting and going for walk with her husband Greg.

Mrs Abbe, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Abbe is from Chicago and lives in Evanston with her husband and sons Jonah and Yoni. Abbe graduate from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Abbe has over 10 years of experience working with children at schools in Chicago and Evanston. Abbe believes all children learn through play and through experiences in their daily lives. “All children are wonderful and special!”. Abbe is looking forward to 2017, as she will be starting her Master’s Degree. Her favorite children’s book is Heidi, originally published in 1881. Abbe loves baseball (Go Cubs!) and playing with her children.

Alexa, Lead Teacher Alexa Burnell has a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Master's Degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology with a degree in Clinical Psychology/Child Development. Most recently, Alexa earned her Early Childhood Teaching Certificate from Oakton Community College.


Alexa has worked in the Chicago Public School system, providing therapeutic services and creating empowerment workshops for children. She has also taught preschool at the Wilmette Park District. Her journey with the Goddard School began in September 2020, starting as a resource center aid before moving into a co-lead teaching role.


Further, Alexa is a Wilmette resident and mother of four children ranging in age from Kindergarten to high school. She volunteers as a Girl Scout leader, spearheading many community service initiatives. Alexa enjoys outdoor adventures with her family and also moonlights as a freelance writer for local newspapers and publications.


She believes that understanding, nurturance and silliness are important characteristics when teaching youngsters. Her favorite book for children is "Fill-A Bucket" by Carol McCloud, teaching children from an early age about the importance of kindness.

Ms Allison, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Ms. Allison is from Chicago and has her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Ms. Allison worked as a lead teacher at a Preschool in Park Ridge. Ms. Allison believes that each child has the ability to learn and it’s up to teachers to inspire and influence a love of learning for years to come. Her goal is to instill a love of books and reading in all children. Ms. Allison’s favorite kids book is Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds. In her free time, Ms. Allison enjoys hiking, being outdoors and completing puzzles.

Ms Elizabeth, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Elizabeth is from Niles, IL and is working on her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential from Oakton Community College. Ms. Elizabeth believes that children are curious and learn through hands on experience. She feels that play is important as it is through play that children learn about everyday situations. Ms. Elizabeth’s favorite books are Good Night Moon and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. In her spare time, Ms. Elizabeth loves to read mystery novels, swim in oceans and at water parks, ride horses and go on road trips!

Amelia, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Amelia is from Grofton, Wisconsin and lives in Chicago. She has her Bachelors’ Degree in Early Childhood Education from Miami University in Ohio. Prior to working at Goddard, Amelia taught English to preschoolers in Spain for a year. After her time in Spain, Ms. Amelia was a preschool teacher at a center in Wisconsin.

Amelia believes that children learn best through play and exploring the world around them. “I encourage them to ask questions and love to use science in the classroom.” Her favorite book is “Rumble In The Jungle”. In her free time, Amelia likes to read, spend time with her friends and family and walk her dog.

Ms Stephanie, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Ms. Stephanie is from Harwood Heights and has her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Child Advocacy Studies from Northeastern Illinois University. Ms. Stephanie brings over five years of early childhood experience to The Goddard School. Ms. Stephanie believes every child is unique and special. Children lean best through play and as a teacher, her goal is to make sure that each child feels safe and loved! Ms. Stephanie’s favorite kids book is Elephant and Piggie: Let’s go for a Drive! In her free time, Ms. Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, comic book conventions and sporting events!

Hannya, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER – Hannya is originally from Mexico and is currently working on her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from DuPage College. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Hannya worked at a childcare center, as a Preschool Teacher. Hannya believes every child learns should have access to high quality care. “Children should be encouraged to learn through play because it develops the child as a whole.” Hannya’s favorite children’s book is “The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. In her spare time, Hannya enjoys taking nature walks, painting, sculpting and doing anything art related.

Ms Yasmine, Lead Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Yasmine is originally from Haiti and currently lives in Skokie. She has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Yasmine worked at centers in Evanston and Wilmette. She was also a nanny for over 4 years. Yasmine believes that every child is unique and will learn at their own pace. Yasmine has a long term goal of becoming a Director of an Early Childhood Center. Her favorite children’s book is The Kissing Hand and in her spare time, Yasmine loves to shop and spend time with her family.

Ms Suraiya, Assistant Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Suraiya is from Pakistan and lives in Skokie. She earned has her CDA and her Bachelor of Degree in Economics and Political Science from Karachi University in Pakistan. Prior to joining The Goddard School, Suraiya worked as a Montessori teacher in Pakistan and as an Early Childhood Teacher at a center here in Skokie. She believes that every child learns differently and that we should guide them on a positive track so that they can be successful in life. Her favorite children’s book is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” by Bill Martin Jr. In her spare time, Suraiya likes to read books and do gardening.

Ms Deena, Assistant Teacher LEAD TEACHER– Deena is from Chicago and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Northern Illinois University. She worked in a preschool for a child development while in high school and was a Nanny prior to working here at Goddard. Deena believes that creating a learning environment where the children feel encouraged to express themselves is very important. Her goal is to engage children in activities that are safe, fun and create a positive learning environment. Deena’s favorite book is Corduroy By Don Freeman. In her spare time, Deena liked to take her dog to the dog park, watch movies and spend time with her family.

Mrs Nievelissa, Assistant Teacher ASSISTANT TEACHER – Lissa was born in the Philippines and has been residing in Skokie since 2013. In addition to her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Nutrition from the University of the Philippines, she has her Early Childhood Education Certification. Prior to coming to The Goddard School, Lissa was a longtime assistant in a church nursery school, working with children from infancy through three years old. Lissa believes young children learn best when they feel they are valued and accepted as they are. She believes that early childhood educators should have unconditional positive regard for all children. Her favorite children’s book is God Knows All About Me. In her spare time, Lissa loves to bake, decorate cakes and is an avid crafter!

Mrs Francis, Assistant Teacher TEACHER ASSISTANT – Ms. Francis is from Jamaica and has many years of experience working with children. She is working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton College.
Francis believes in a play-based approach to learning. Francis truly loves children and believes that they learn a lot through hands on experiences as well as expressing themselves. Her goal as a teacher is for children to love to learn.

Ms. Francis' favorite children’s book is “Stand Tall” by Molly Lou Melon. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and her church family.

Alexandra, Resource RESOURCE – Ms. Alex obtained her Associates Degree from Oakton Community College and is currently working towards her Bachelors’ Degree in Early Childhood Special Education.

Ms. Alex believes that everything comes down to building strong relationships. “I want to make sure that not only the children in my care trust me, but also the parents. This results in the child receiving a learning experience best suited to them.” Ms. Alex’s dream goal is to own her own daycare one day. She loves the book “Green Eggs and Ham.” In her spare time, Ms. Alex enjoys hiking, camping and swimming at the beach. She also enjoys traveling and cooking!

Ms Carol, Resource KITCHEN MANAGER – Carol is our Food Service Manager and is from Glenview. She has her Food Service Sanitation Certification and has worked in school kitchens for several years. Prior to having children of her own, Carol worked in Early Childhood Education. Carol believes that when learning, children should have fun. Activities should be interesting and hands-on. Carol is excited about managing the organic kitchen at The Goddard School. And with our Gourmet Gorilla menu, you can be assured the children will enjoy good food that is not boring! Carol’s favorite book is The Giving Tree and in her free time, she likes to spend ample time in her vegetable and flower garden. Carol will be heavily involved in setting up our school garden in the spring of 2017, where we intend to grow vegetables for our classrooms! In addition to gardening and composting, Carol enjoys sewing and quilting, hiking and walking and volunteering with several charities.

Mrs Deborah, Resource KITCHEN ASSISTANT – Deborah is our Assistant Kitchen Manager and is from Chicago. She has her food service certification and has worked for a company where she ordered lunches and served children in the public schools. She believes that all children can do well in school and be successful. Deborah’s favorite children’s book is Winnie The Pooh. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and baking.

Edie, Resource RESOURCE – Ms.Edie is from Winnetka and has her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Columbia College of Chicago. Prior to starting at Goddard, Ms.Edie has worked with children for several years as a Teacher’s Assistant at the Wilmette Recreation Center. She is passionate about kids and believes that every child needs a chance because they are all different. In her spare time,Edie enjoys working out, jumping rope, biking and hiking.

Ellen, Resource RESOURCE – Ellen is from Wilmette and prior to joining The Goddard School, she worked as a camp counselor. Ellen is excited to be working towards completing her degree in Early Childhood Education at DePaul University.

Ellen believes in incorporating children’s creativity and imagination in activities. She also believes in planning activities that make children happy and fun! Ellen’s favorite book is Good Night Moon. In her spare time, she enjoys running, dancing and walking her dog.

Mrs Ilona, Resource RESOURCE – Ilona (Zita) is originally from Hungary. She has experience babysitting and working at a Montessori school. Zita believes that all children should be loved, well cared for and educated in a safe environment. “Children need to learn how to be confident and social around their peers.” Zita’s favorite children’s book is The Grinch Who Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, reading, cooking, watching movies and listening to music.

Katherine, Resource RESOURCE – Ms. Kasia is originally from Wilmette and is working on obtaining her degree from Oakton Community College. Kasia has worked in the early childcare field as a camp counselor and as a babysitter, with various age groups.

Ms. Kasia believes children are learning every day, as everything to them is new. Creating a good learning environment for them is essential as it is one of the first places they are without their parents.

In her free time, Ms. Kasia enjoys exercising, bike riding, hammocking and swimming. Her favorite book is “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein

Nahid, Resource RESOURCE – Nahid is from Pakistan and prior to working at The Goddard School, she was a teacher assistant at a center in the area. Nahid believes in helping children develop their strengths, interests, abilities, and knowledge to learn from them. Her goal is to engage children in activities that are safe, fun and create a positive learning environment. Nahid’s favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. In her spare time, Nahid likes to cook, clean, and sew.

Salina, Resource RESOURCE- Ms. Salina is from the area and joins our team as a center wide resource. Ms. Salina has experience babysitting and as a Sunday School Teacher.

Stephanie, Resource RESOURCE – Stephanie graduated from Oakton Community College with her Associates Degree in Arts. Prior to working at The Goddard School, Stephanie worked as a camp counselor at the Skokie Park District. She believes that each child is unique, thirsty to learn and needs one on one attention whenever possible. “Different teaching strategies are necessary to reach all learners and more positive interactions with their peers and teachers are especially necessary.”
Stephanie’s favorite children’s book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle. In her spare time, Stephanie loves to run, go on walks with her family and read biography books. She also loves to play UNO and bake cookies and cakes.

Tina , Resource RESOURCE– Ms. Tina is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College. She believes that each child is an individual. “As an educator, I will value and develop each child’s strength, interest, skill and knowledge to extend their learning. Prior to working at Goddard, Ms. Tina worked with Pre-K children as an Assistant Teacher.
