Meet the 2023 Scholarship Winner

KATIE ENGELS

2023 ANTHONY A. MARTINO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

We received many incredible Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship submissions, and after narrowing down our finalists, we’re excited to announce our winner, Katie Engels from Piscataway, NJ! Congratulations, Katie!

Katie graduated from Piscataway High School, and back in 2011, she graduated from The Goddard School® of Piscataway. Katie is attending West Chester University to pursue a degree in nursing.

Katie is steadfastly committed to helping others. She works as a lifeguard and swim instructor for children with special needs and volunteers with various organizations. One of her memorable achievements was organizing a group of volunteers to clean up a local quarry that was riddled with litter, making the space clean and usable for future visitors.

Katie remembers her time at The Goddard School fondly. “At The Goddard School, I learned how to be creative, how to learn and, most importantly, how to be kind to others. The School taught me how to express my feelings, make new friends and try things outside of my comfort zone. I will always cherish the solid foundation of loving support that I received from The Goddard School and will use the lessons I learned to care for others in the future. I’m forever grateful that I experienced what Goddard has to offer.”

We wish Katie the best as she follows her dreams!
