Mr Toby, Owner I am a dedicated family man that has been married to my wife Heather for 18 years. Together, we have two daughters Hannah and Lilah. I love to spend time with them supporting their sports and any other extra-curricular interests. I have also been involved with local support organizations who prevent child abuse and neglect of young children in Central Maryland. These groups give parents the support they need to raise a strong family. I am very excited to be opening The Goddard School in Clarksburg which will provide local families a safe and nurturing environment coupled with strong academic program.

I have been in the workforce for 30 years, and have an extensive background in business management and building new businesses from the ground up.

I enjoy working around the house, both in the garden and doing general handyman projects. I am an avid Ravens and Orioles supporter, and look forward to spirited discussions with others. I am found of many sports and outdoor activities, playing golf and fishing when time allows. Cooking is also a passion, though I will tell you I have a lot to learn.

Ms Kelly, Director Kelly is the Academic Director. She has her bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She also has her 90 and 45 hour certifications. She was born and raised in Montgomery County. She has been married for 11 years and has two sons. Kelly has worked in a preschool setting for 18 years. She has also taught preschool aged children and has 13 years experience in administration. Kelly loves that each child is unique and feels priviledged to be given the opportunity to watch them learn and grow. She wishes to model for students patience, kindness, generosity, and a love for learning and exploring new ideas and experiences.

Loretta, Director Loretta is currently attending Ashford University to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Administration. She is married and has two sons. She has taught preschool for over 20 years. She feels that children are our future she loves to guide them in the right direction in order to ensure they have a positive future. Loretta wishes to be a caring, loving and supportive force in a child's life.

Nichol, Assistant Director Nichol is the Assistant Director. She received her bachelors degree in Fine Arts in May 2009 and her masters in Elementary Education in May 2011. She received her 90 hour certification in October 2013. She has previously worked as a substitute teacher for Howard County Public Schools for two years. Nichol loves children's willingness and excitement to learn new things and their positive disposition on life. She hopes to model for her students patience, understanding, and a positive demeanor.

Renee, Assistant Director Renee is the Administrative Director. She has her 45 hour certificate and B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. She is the youngest of five in her family. She also has a husband, Matthew, daughter, Emily, and one on the way, at home. She was a teacher for 7 years and has been in an Assistant Director role for 2 years. She loves watching the children learn new concepts. She wishes to model the ability to be philanthropic for children. She believes that helping others builds great character.

Farzaneh, Lead Teacher Farzaneh is an infant teacher in the Caterpillars Room. She has an associates degree in School Health and Nursing. Farzaneh has three children, two sons and one daughter. She has been teaching for almost 33 years, 23 years in Iran and 10 years in the United States. Farzaneh speaks English and Farsi. She loves that children are always happy and energetic. She wishes to provide her students with a loving environment.

Nazanin, Lead Teacher Nazanin is an infant teacher in the Caterpillars Room. She received a bachelor’s degree in literature from her country. She is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education at Montgomery College. Nazanin has been married for 14 years and has two handsome sons! She has taught Grades 2 and 4 in her country for six years and has worked with children here in the US for five years. Nazanin loves to nurture and care for infants and help them accomplish their first milestones in life. She hopes to model for her students respect and responsibility.

Doretta, Lead Teacher Doretta is an infant teacher in the Moos Room. She has her 90hr and 45hr certificate and is currently pursuing her CDA. She has one son, two daughters, and four grandchildren. She has been a Sunday School teacher for preschool students for 10 years. Doretta loves that children enjoy exploring different things and are eager to learn in all areas. She enjoys the questions they ask and that they share what is on their mind. She hopes to model for her students that it is ok to make mistakes, the importance of working together, and that anything is possible as long as you don't give up.

Courtney, Lead Teacher Courtney is an Infant teacher in the Chicks Room. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education Administration at Ashford University. She also has her 90 hour certification and her 45 hour Infant and Toddler certification. Courtney is a mother to a young son. She has been teaching for six years, two of which for preschool students. She loves that each child is unique and brings their own sense of personality into the classroom. She wishes to model for her students independence, creative thinking, compassion, and the importance of hard work to accomplish their goals.

Andreina, Lead Teacher Andreina is a toddler teacher in the Chipmunks Room. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has her 90 hour and 45 hour certificates. She is married and was born in the USA but her parents are from Mexico and Guatemala. Andreina has taught for a year. She speaks English and Spanish. She loves watching children grow and learn each day. Andreina hopes to be a great role model and teach children what they will need to help the become great people in the future.

Barbara, Lead Teacher Barbara is a teacher in the Chipmunks Room. She is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been married for 40 years and has three children and eight grandchildren. Barbara has eleven years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children. She is also a preschool coach for Frederick County Parks and Recreation. Barbara loves that children are at the age where every day is an opportunity to learn something new. They are loveable and fun to be with. She hopes to model self confidence, gratitude and respect for others.

Earlene, Lead Teacher Earlene is a toddler teacher in the Chipmunks Room. She currently has her 90-Hour Certification in Early Childhood Education and is currently pursuing her CDA. She has 19 years of teaching experience. Earlene loves that children are curious and creative. She hopes to model for children to be themselves and to not be afraid to try things they have never done before!

Erin, Lead Teacher Erin is a toddler teacher in the Ducks Room. She currently lives with her husband and son. She obtained her 90 hour certificate from Montgomery College and is currently pursing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching for two years with a variety of age groups. She wishes to model patience, compassion, leadership, understanding, and respect to her students.

Sarita, Lead Teacher Sarita is a Toddler teacher. She from Nepal and has her masters in Business Administration. She is married and has one daughter and one son. She has been teaching preschool for 5 years. Sarita hopes to provide a positive learning environment and plans to always give her students positive encouragement.

Danielle, Lead Teacher Danielle is a Toddler teacher. She has her 90 hour certificate and is currently pursuing her CDA and AA degree in Early Childhood Education. Danielle is a mother to one son. She has been teaching for 8 years, 5 of which in preschool. She loves that children are unique, have amazing personalities, and have the willingness to learn. Danielle hopes to model confidence, patience, compassion, understanding, and dedication to her students.

Sara, Lead Teacher Sara has her Child Development Associate (CDA) certification. She is married and has two younger brothers. Sara has taught preschool for 2 years. She speaks English and Swedish. Sara loves that each day is different when working with children and that each child brings something new to the group. She hopes to model a passion for learning, that obstacles can be overcome and understand that positive values can be lived each day.

Veronica, Lead Teacher Veronica is a toddler teacher in the Kittens room. She is married with two children. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Veronica has been working as a teacher for more than fifteen years. She also speaks Spanish. She wishes to model a healthy balance of mind and spirit. Veronica hopes to help her students enter adulthood with a higher self-esteem and to be better able to respond to life's challenges.

Cierra, Lead Teacher Cierra is a teacher in the Roosters Room. She is currently pursuing her associates degree in Social Work at Montgomery College. She plans on transferring to the Universities of Maryland at Shady Grove to pursue a bachelors degree. She has a smart and beautiful seven year old daughter who is in the second grade. Cierra has taught preschool for five years and has been working with children for eight years. She hopes to be a positive role model for children.

Jeanette, Lead Teacher Jeanette is a toddler teacher in the Bunnies Room. She has her 90 hour school age and preschool certificate and is currently pursuing degree in Early Childhood Education. She has taught for over 10 years. Jeanette loves that children are enthusiastic about learning and she feels that every day is a new opportunity to make a difference in their lives. She hopes to model kindness, to treat others how you want to be treated and to never give up on their goals.

Maricel, Lead Teacher Maricel is a preschool teacher. She has her associates degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Her family (mother, father, and two younger sisters) live in the Philippines. She moved here from Vancouver, Canada when she got married. Maricel started teaching three year old students in 2009 and then taught two year olds for a year. She has been teaching preschool for four years. She loves that children are always happy and ready to learn, explore, and use their imagination. Maricel hopes to model for her students respect for others, compassion, and understanding.

Carla, Lead Teacher Carla is a preschool teacher in the Ponies Room. She has been married for 18 years and has three sons. Carla came to the United States from Peru in 2001. She is currently pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children for 11 years, 4 of them in a preschool class. Carla hopes to model for her students good manners and respect for others.

Carla, Lead Teacher Carla has her 90 hour certificate. She has her AA in Liberal Arts and her AA degree in Human Services. She also has 60 credits of her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. Carla is married and has one child. She taught PreK for 10 years and preschool for 2 years and has been teaching overall since 1991. She speaks Spanish and English. Carla was born in Nicaragua, Central America. She loves that children are happy and ready to learn and explore every center and corner of the classroom! Carla hopes to model independence and encourage the children to face challenges.

Anne, Lead Teacher Anne is a Pre-K teacher in the Owls classroom. She has her Associates of Arts in Elementary School Education as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations. Anne also has her Masters of Business Administration and her 90 hour certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has been married for 17 years and has two beautiful children. She has 12 years of teaching experience, of which 3 were teaching preschool. She was born in Bangladesh and speaks English and Bengali. Anne loves that children at The Goddard School of Clarksburg enjoy a happy, stress free, friendly learning environment where they can learn to love and respect themselves and enjoy the beautiful world around them. She hopes to create a peaceful atmosphere in which children can grow and experience social, physical, and emotional security. She hopes to foster positive growth for children by providing developmentally appropriate learning activities.

Britney, Lead Teacher Britney is a Pre-K teacher in the Orioles Room. She graduated in 2012 from Stevenson University with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She plans to continue her education pursing a masters degree. She has a twin sister and an older sister. This is Britney second year of teaching. Britney loves children's inquisitive nature and their excitement about learning. She wishes to model for her students how to work cooperatively, how to be kind to their peers, and how to be ready for learning.

Carly , Lead Teacher Carly is a Pre-K teacher in the Farmers room. She has her Early Childhood/Elementary Degree and her Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in PreK-Grade 4. She has a beautiful daughter who is the light of her life!. She has experience with teaching through internships and with her student teaching. Carly loves children's enthusiasm to learn and hopes to model perseverance. She also hopes to encourage the children to embrace what makes them unique!

Jamie, Lead Teacher Jamie is a Pre-K teacher in the Groundhogs room. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University and Elementary Education certification from West Chester University. She has three grown children and one grandson. She has taught for 16 years, 10 of which teaching preschool. Jamie loves that children learn so much through play and that they are naturally curious and creative. She hopes to model for her children creativity, respect, patience and a love of learning.

Cinthya, Lead Teacher Cinthya is a teacher in the before and after care. She currently attends Montgomery College. She lives with her parents and her two younger brothers. Cinthya has three years of preschool experience. She loves that each child is unique and that they all learn in different ways. Cinthya hopes to model patience and respect for others.

Rebecca, Assistant Teacher Rebecca is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She currently has her CDA in Infants and Toddlers and has her 90 hour certificate. Rebecca is an only child and grew up in Silver Spring, MD. She has taught preschool for 15 years. She loves children's imagination and creativity. She hopes to model patience and open-mindedness.

Saba, Assistant Teacher Saba teaches in the Moos room. She has her degree as a midwife from the former Soviet Union. She has her 90-hour Early Childhood Education Certificate and also has her CDA. Saba is married and has two children. She has taught preschool for seven years. Saba speaks English and Amharic and is originally from Ethiopia. She hopes to demonstrate patience, working together, and not to give up.

She is the mother to a energetic little boy. She has taught preschool for three years. Asia wishes to model respect, responsibility, kindness, and patience to her students.

Gulnara, Assistant Teacher Gulnara has her Child Development Associate Credential as well as her 45-hour Certification in Early Childhood Education. She has been married for 25 years and has two daughters and one son. Gulnara has been teaching preschool for six years. Prior to that, she taught at a secondary school in her country for 13 years. Gulnara is from Uzbekistan and she speaks Uzbek and Russian. She loves that children are active learners and are adventurous. Gulnara hopes to model for her students patience and compassion.

Mary, Assistant Teacher Mary is a Preschool Assistant Teacher. She was born in Washington DC and has lived in the DC Metropolitan area for most of her life. She has been married for 26 years and has two grown children. She has earned her 90 hour Child Development and Curriculum Course certificate. She has been a teacher's assistant for 13 years. Mary loves that The Goddard School of Clarksburg provides an environment that enables children to have fun while learning. She hopes to model for her students a positive attitude and a creative and exciting passion for learning.

Carlet , Assistant Teacher Carlet has her 90 hour and 45 hour certifications in Early Childhood Education. She has worked for MCPS for 8 years. She has also had specialized training for children with special needs. She has taught in a preschool setting for over 15 years. She has a wonderful son, who is entering into his junior year of college. She is also one of seven sisters in her family. She is originally from Jamaica. She loves that children are little sponges that are ready and willing to soak everything up. She wishes to model independence, and set examples for children's success.

Holly, Assistant Teacher Holly has her associates degree in Education. Family is very important to Holly and she is close with her mother and brother. This is her first experience working in a preschool setting. Holly loves that children are so full of life and enjoys their individual personalities. She hopes to model for her students that they can do anything they set their minds to and that it is ok to ask for the support you need.

Yvette, Assistant Teacher Yvette is a Pre-K teacher in the Farmers room. She has a dual Bachelors' Degrees from The Florida State University in Psychology and Political Science with Minors' in Child Development and Religion. She is currently taking graduate level Speech Language Pathology classes at The Florida State University. She comes from a very close knit family. Yvette is the eldest of two sisters and brother, whom she adores! Although she has no children of her own, she is very active in the life of her Goddaughter Makayla. She has 5 years of teaching experience which includes two years of lead teaching with the Head Start Program, two years of volunteer work with the Americorps Jumpstart Literacy program, and more than a year of experience at The Goddard School. Yvette loves that children are loving, patient, kind and bright. She hopes to model for her students love and acceptance of all people and that a little patience goes a long way!

Amber, Resource Amber is the Dance and Yoga Teacher in the before and after care program. She is pursuing a degree in Elementary Special Education at Hood College. She is a certified personal trainer and a kickboxing instructor. Amber is the youngest of three children. Her sister is a Veterinarian and her brother is a personal trainer. Amber has worked with children for four years. She loves children's enthusiasm to learn and enjoys watching them develop new skills. Amber hopes to model determination, organization, and understanding the needs of others.

Cassi, Resource Cassi is the Preschool Fine Arts Teacher and the Elementary Programs Art teacher. She has her Associates in Fine Arts from Montgomery College and her 90 hour certificate from Howard Community College. She is dedicated to teaching children all aspects of fine art using the influences and techniques of the great masters of art. Growing up in Maryland her entire life, she has one brother and two sisters. She wishes to model creativity, persistence, and independence to her students.

Jing, Resource Jing is the Chinese teacher. She studied English at Beijing Normal University. Once she graduated she continued to take courses in Psychology. When she arrived in the USA she began taking classes in Early Education. She is currently married and has a young daughter. She taught for two years in China and for one year when she moved to Pennsylvania. Jing speaks English and Chinese. She loves that children are friendly, smart and interactive. She wishes to model for her students the importance of treating other people kindly, exploring their culture, and that learning other languages is fun!

Roxana, Resource Roxana works in the before and after care. She earned her Associate of Arts in Teaching at Montgomery College. She is currently enrolled at Towson University to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Special Education. She is married and has two brothers, one sister, and two nieces. Roxana speaks English, Spanish, and a little bit of French. She wishes to model appreciation, respect, kindness, and honesty for her students.

Stephanie, Resource Stephanie is the music teacher. She has a bachelors degree in Human Ecology and an minor in Early Childhood Music Education. She has been married for over 20 years and has two daughters. Stephanie has been teaching for over 23 years. She loves children's smiling faced when they learn new songs. Stephanie hopes to model for her children respect, manners, and a love for music and acting.
