Ms Annette, Owner Annette is the owner of The Goddard School located in Yorktown Heights NY. She earned her BS in Accounting from Fordham University and has spent the majority of her career in management leading a talented team. She spent 10 years having owned her own family childcare business where she prepared children academically and socially to enter into Kindergarten. She is so excited to be back working with children and developing this fabulous group of educators. Annette and her husband Tony have two children, and are committed to making their school a welcoming and nurturing environment for every child in their care.
Ms Kristin, Director Ms. Kristin is our Educational Director and is delighted to be part of The Goddard School family. Kristin earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Westfield State University in Massachusetts and is certified to teach in both New York and Massachusetts. She has experience as an early childhood educator working in 4 year old and Kindergarten classrooms. Prior to becoming the Educational Director, Kristin worked as our After School Director and it was very clear her passion and devotion to children. She is committed to growing The Goddard School into a happy and safe educational environment.
Ms Cherie, Assistant Director Ms. Cherie is a member of our Goddard Family and now our Administrative Team as an Office Administrator. Prior to joining the Goddard School she was a Vice President at JP Morgan and owned two Curves Fitness Centers. She is currently a childcare giver for a family of 7. Cherie is caring and nurturing and passionate about working with children, as her love for her family shows. In her spare time, she enjoys jewelry making and shopping! She is excited to be a part of the Goddard Family.
Ms Marcie, Lead Teacher Ms.Marcie is the lead teacher in the Infant Room. Marcie's professional career began in nursing as a licensed practical nurse for over 15 years. She has spent most of her career working with infants in child care. Marcie returned to school after a successful professional career to earn a Bachelors Degree in Human Service Management. Marcie feels so very blessed to have the opportunity to work with Infants over the years, watching them grow and learn all about their environments. She loves animal and is a mom to two pups.
Ms Amy, Lead Teacher Ms. Amy is the lead teacher in the Snails classroom. Amy has been working in the childcare setting for over 10 years, particularly with infants. Amy attended Brunswick Community College for Early Childhood Education and received an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate to work with infants thru pre-k students.
Amy is a proud mother to two beautiful children, an 11 year old and a new born infant. Amy is excited to continue to further her career and flourish here at the Goddard School.
Ms Desiree, Lead Teacher Ms. Desiree is the Lead Teacher in the Teeterin' Turtles classroom. She earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Aside from her work at Goddard, Ms. Desiree is also a lifeguard and swim instructor for Putnam Valley Parks and Recreation. She is also a volunteer with the Putnam Valley Ambulance Corps. Desiree loves working with children and is excited about working with the children here at Goddard.
Ms Katherine, Lead Teacher Ms. Katie is a Lead Teacher in our Jumpin' Jellyfish Toddler Classroom. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Wellness Management, and is working towards completing a Master's Degree in Education. Prior to working at Goddard, Ms. Katie worked as a camp counselor for 3 and 4th graders for one year, and a preschool assistant for 3 and 4 year olds for two years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going to the gym and doing yoga.
Ms Michelle, Lead Teacher Ms. Michelle graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelors in Child and Family Studies and Psychology. Before joining the Goddard Family, Michelle volunteered at 2 childcare development centers and was a camp counselor for 4 years. Michelle plans to begin her Masters Program next Fall. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys, reading, cooking and being outdoors.
Ms Christine, Lead Teacher Christine is the lead teacher in our GET SET classroom. Ms. Christine is a recent college graduate from Western Connecticut State University. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. Ms. Christine is currently working on obtaining her New York teaching license and is looking to pursue a dual certification in both Elementary Education and Secondary Education. In her spare time, Ms. Christine enjoys reading and being outdoors.
Ms Nancy , Lead Teacher Ms. Nancy is our lead teacher in the Preschool classroom. She is married with two children. Nancy was a volunteer parent consultant for Nick Junior Television for shows such as Blue’s Clues and Dora. Nancy worked for 12 years in a private preschool in Putnam Valley where she was the lead teacher for children, ages 2 through prekindergarten. She also ran the summer camp and after school and extended day activities for the school. Nancy earned her CDA Certification and is bilingual in both Spanish and English. She is an active member of the Calvary Bible Church in Yorktown, and has been involved in the church community for 19 years.
Ms Jessica, Lead Teacher Ms. Jessica is the Lead Teacher in our Wise Whales Preschool Classroom. Jessica earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Dutchess Community College in 2012 where she then began her coursework in Early Childhood Education. Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University. Jessica has also spent almost ten years babysitting children of all ages.
Ms Arlene, Lead Teacher Ms. Arlene is our Lead Teacher in our PreK 4 Classroom. Arlene attended Queens College where she majored in Psychology and Music. For as long as she can recall Arlene was drawn to early childhood development, both as a nanny and working in church with the youth group and directing the children’s Music Makers Choir. A Yorktown Heights resident for 14 years, Arlene has been married for 27 years, and has a son and daughter. Her career began at Con Edison where she worked for 17 years in their Customer Service and Law Departments. Asked to sub as a teacher’s aide at her daughter’s Preschool in 1999, she was enamored by the preschool group she was working with and became affectionately known as “Mrs. P”. Arlene is looking forward to being a part of the growing family here at Goddard.
Ms Elizabeth , Lead Teacher Ms. Liz is the Lead Teacher of our Savvy Starfish, PreK 4 students. Liz earned an Associates Degree of Science in Early Childhood Education for ages Birth through 2nd in May 2011. Liz then went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY New Paltz. Prior to her time here at Goddard, Liz worked with preschool children for over 6 years.
Diana, Lead Teacher Ms. Diana is the lead teacher in our Kindergarten classroom. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a Concentration in Spanish, from SUNY Oneonta.
Diana is the mother of two sons and has one grandson. She grew up in Argentina and in her spare time enjoys going dancing.
Ms Tara, Assistant Teacher Ms. Tara is an assistant teacher in the Wise Whales classroom. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies from the College at Oneonta State University of New York (SUNY Oneonta), and an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts Social Science from Westchester Community College. She plans to continue her education in the Early Childhood Education Master program at Mercy College.
Tara has six years of experience working with children from infancy to preschool age. Previously she volunteered in a day care program in Yorktown Heights
Ms Alyssa, Assistant Teacher Ms. Alyssa is a school assistant working in various classrooms at Goddard. She recently made a career change and decided teaching was her true passion. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and has been accepted to the Master’s program for Early Childhood Education at Mercy College for the Spring of 2015. Her love for children and seeing them learn and grow is what sparked her transition into the teaching field.
Ms Jenifer, Assistant Teacher Ms. Jenifer earned her BA degree in Psychology from Manhattan College and then went on to earn her MA degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marist College. Prior to working at the Goddard School, Jenifer had internships at The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie and The Anderson Center for Autism, where she worked with children and adolescents of all ages and with a variety of different needs
Ms Maria, Assistant Teacher Ms. Maria is an assistant teacher in the Sensational Seashells classroom. Ms. Maria earned her High School Diploma in Science in Venezuela in 1987. She studied special education for kids with special needs for two years in Venezuela. Maria studied at the Stratford Career Institute (English as a second language) in 2006.
Maria received hands-on training as a teacher's assistant at a preschool in Mohegan Lake. Maria volunteers her time as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, Girls Softball Coach and Assistant and has assisted the Sensei of her son's karate school. Maria is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Ms Jessica , Assistant Teacher Ms. Jessica is an assistant teacher in our After School Program. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Westchester Community College. Jessica plans to continue her education to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Jessica has been an intern at Good Shepherd Nursery School in Irvington,NY and has spent countless time working with preschool age groups. She is also currently a babysitter for young children which she has been doing for the past seven years.
Ms Kaitlin, Assistant Teacher Ms. Kaitlin is an Assistant Teacher in our After School Program. She recently graduated from York College of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). She has worked with children of all ages prior to her start at the Goddard School and was a lead camp counselor for two years during college with the children ages 3-5. Kaitlin taught herself how to play guitar and does it wonderfully! She shares her love for music and dance with the children. We are pleased to have Kaitlin as part of our Goddard Family.
Ms Samantha, Assistant Teacher Ms. Samantha is an Assistant Teacher in the AfterSchool Program at Goddard. She is working towards completing a Bachelors in Psychology and Mental Health at Western Connecticut State University. Samantha loves working with children of all ages. Her previous experience included working with school aged children in various after school programs. Samantha is energetic and fun and excited to work with our After School Director to execute fun educational programs.
Ms Denise, Resource Ms. Denise is a school assistant in various classrooms. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mercy College. Previously she worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Yonkers Public School District, and as a one to one teacher’s aide for children with special needs in the Tuckahoe School District.
Denise lives in Yorktown with her husband and is the mom of two active, happy young boys. Denise is very creative, patient and energetic, and looks forward to the quality time she will be able to spend with all the age groups here at Goddard.
Ms Erica, Resource Ms. Erica is a school assistant at the Goddard School working in all classrooms of various ages. Erica earned a Bachelors in Psychology and Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education. Prior to working at Goddard she taught 6th and 7th grade special education for 10 years. Erica is a mom to two children- a 6 year old son and an 8 year old daughter.
Ms Jean, Resource Ms. Jean is a school assistant who works in various classrooms, among many different age groups. Prior to her professional career in Education, Jean was a supervisor for MTV network. Jean decided to make the move towards Early Childhood Education when she became a mother. Jean has three children; two in college and one in high school and raises her family in Yorktown. Ms.Jean is a NYS certified teaching assistant, and received a Bachelor’s of Science from St. John’s University in Communications. Jean was also a substitute teacher for 10 years in the Yorktown and Lakeland school districts.
