      • Event: Cookie Decorating

      • Description: After reading If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff, the Toddler class will have the opportunity to decorate their own cookie.  Yum yum!

      • Description: The teacher will read  If you Give a Cat a Cupcake by Laura Numeroff.  Then the children will be able to explore cupcake mix in the sensory table.  We will add sifters and measuring cups to help with their exploration.

      • Description: The Pre-K class read If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff.  Then the Pre-Kers will be able to make muffins in class.  They will have to measure and stir to make their own delicious snack.

      • Description: The Preschool class read If You Give a Dog a Donut by Laura Numeroff then they had the chance to work on their fine motor skills as they cut out their own circle donuts and decorate them with paint and glitter.

      • Description: The Kindergarten class read Laura Numeroff's If You Give a Pig a Pancake.  Then the children had the opportunity to to play a sequence game with their friends.

      • Description: After reading, Curious George and the Rocket by H.A. Rey.  The Preschool children had the opportunity to join the parachute rocket as they blasted off into space.

      • Description: The Toddler class read Curious George and the Perfect Carrot by H.A. Rey then the children were able to paint with carrots.

      • Description: The Pre-K class read Curious George Goes to the Hospital by H.A. Rey.  Then the teacher set the Dramatic Play area up like a Doctors office.  The children gave shots, wrote prescriptions, and took care of their friends all day long.

      • Description: The Toddler Room read Curious George and the Pizza by H.A. Rey.  The Toddler friends had the opportunity to use Pizza dough like play dough.  They used their muscles to roll and flatten out the dough.

      • Description: The Young Toddler class found their belly buttons as they read Sandra Boyton's Belly Button Book.

      • Description: Our Infant class pointed to the puppies in the book, Doggies, by Sandra Boyton.  They learned lots of ways that doggies talk.

      • Description: The Preschool class read Sandra Boyton's Opposites book.  Then the children were able to play an opposite game at the Language Center.

      • Description: The Toddler class read Sandra Boyton's Moo Baa La La La.  Then the children had the opportunity to play an animal sound game where they had to match the animal to the correct sound.

      • Description: The Pre-K class read The Tickle - Octopus by Audrey Wood.  Then the children chose their own animals that would change their lives.  The children had a chance to draw and write about their animals in their journals.

      • Description: The Preschool friends played with the flannel board as they retold the story The Napping House by Audrey Wood.  The children tried to remember who came next in the story.

      • Description: The Infant Class read Piggies by Audrey Woods The teachers pointed to each finger and toe as they read the story.  Then they played this little piggy.

      • Description: The Kindergarten class created their own play based off of Audrey Wood's story Quick as a Cricket.  Every child got to choose an animal they thought represented something in them.  Then the children wrote why they choose their particular animal.
