Hello, my name is Janie Lisagor. My husband and I own The Williamsburg Goddard School located in New Town. We are both originally from this area. We have two children a seventeen and nine year old. Our son attended another Goddard School and we were so impressed with the experience we moved back to the area and opened this school. I have a Bachelor Degree in Elementary and Middle School Education from Old Dominion University and taught school for a little more than eleven years. I later earned my Masters Degree in Education Administration from Old Dominion University as well.
April Melton - Director - April is the proud mother of a little girl who is in our Toddler classroom. April attended Christopher Newport University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Psychology. She has worked with the City of Newport News Parks & Recreation for nine years as a Recreation Center Supervisor. "I am excited to be a part of the Goddard School located in Williamsburg. I am looking forward to running an outstanding preschool program," says April. Ms. April has worked for The Goddard School® located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2009.
Kati Seward - Assistant Director - Kati has worked for The Goddard School® located in Chester for several years. She originally was our First Step Lead Teacher and now is the Assistant Director. She has an Associate's degree from Richard Bland and is currently attending ODU to finish her Special Education Degree. Mrs. Kati has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2009.
Mrs. Jenny - Infant Lead Teacher - We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Jenny is our School's Teacher of the Year for 2011! Jenny has over 33 years' experience working with children of all ages. She has been working as a nanny for five children for the past three years. She is also a proud mother of two children. "I believe this is the most fulfilling job to have, watching children develop and grow through positive learning," says Jenny. Mrs. Jenny has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2009.
Mrs. Lena - Infant Assistant Teacher - Mrs. Lena is the assistant teacher in the infant room. She is a proud wife and mother of 6 beautiful children. She previously worked in the Gloucester County Public Schools for over 11 years as a special education paraprofessional and has taught Sunday School. Mrs. Lena has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2010.
Ms. Kim - Infant Assistant Teacher -
Ms. Kim is one of the assistant teachers in the infant classroom. She has been a nanny, working with several young children from the ages of infant to seven years old, for the last five years. "I am very excited about working in the infant classroom and getting to watch them grow up." Ms. Kim has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2011.
Ms. Whitney - First Step Lead Teacher - Ms. Whitney has worked with children for two years as a counselor for the YMCA and as a Sunday school teacher before joining The Goddard Team in 2009. She is currently the lead teacher in our First Step classroom and loves working with the children ages 12-18 months. Ms. Whitney is currently finishing her Child Development Accreditation.
Ms. Erica - First Step Assistant Teacher Ms. Erica is the Assistant Teacher in the Chipmunk's classroom. She has been a first grade teacher for the past five years and has ten years' experience volunteering and babysitting children from two - ten years old. Ms. Erica has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of William & Mary and is currently taking classes there to receive a degree in Elementary Education. She joined the Goddard Team in October 2011.
Ms. Mindy - Young Toddler Lead Teacher - Ms. Mindy is the lead teacher in the Turtles classroom. She has been working in the childcare field for over six years as an assistant teacher with children from infant to 4 years old. She has been the young toddler assistant teacher for over 6 months. Mrs. Mindy has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2010.
Mrs. Kristy - Young Toddler Assistant Teacher -
Ms. Kristy is the Assistant Teacher in the Turtle's classroom. She has worked with children for several years in a variety of elementary and special education classrooms as well as an assistant teacher. She graduated from Simpson College in Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree which included a major of history and minors in secondary education and political science. In addition, Ms. Kristy completed nine weeks of student teaching in Switzerland. She joined the Goddard Team in September 2011.
Mrs. Sarah - Toddler Lead Teacher - Mrs. Sarah has several years of experience working with young children at a local Head Start Program and the College of William & Mary. She is currently attending school to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development. Mrs. Sarah has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2010.
Ms. April C. - Toddler Assistant Teacher Ms. April is the assistant teacher in the Seal’s classroom. She has worked with young children for over 7 years as a nanny and babysitter. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. April joined our team in September 2011.
Mrs. Carrie - Get Set Lead Teacher - Mrs. Carrie recently moved to Virginia from Utah with her husband. She has been working with children for the last 3 years from ages 2 to 6 years old. Mrs. Carrie has received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Utah State University, with a concentration in Behavior Analysis.
Mrs. Yvonne - Get Set Assistant Teacher - Mrs. Yvonne is the assistant teacher in the Bear's classroom. She has been working in the customer service field for over 20 years and during that time watched several children. She says her "passion is working with children of all ages." Mrs. Yvonne has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2010.
Ms. Monique - Preschool 1 Lead Teacher - Ms. Monique has received her Child Development Accreditation in both infant/toddler and preschool settings. She has been a lead teacher in New York for the past five years and is excited about working here in Virginia. Ms. Monique has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2009.
Ms. Brittany P. - Preschool 1 Assistant Teacher Ms. Brittany P. is the Assistant Teacher in the Otter's classroom. She has worked with young children for several years babysitting and is currently taking classes at Thomas Nelson Community College to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Brittany joined our team in 2011.
Ms. Nicki - Preschool 2 Lead Teacher - Ms. Nicki has several years' experience working with children and is currently attending school to receive her degree in Early Childhood Development. She was the assistant teacher in the Preschool 2 room for a year before becoming the lead teacher. Ms. Nicki has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2009.
Ms. Elizabeth - Preschool 2 Assistant Teacher Ms. Elizabeth is the assistant teacher in the Raccoon’s classroom. She has worked with young children for several years as an assistant teacher at Creme’ de la Creme’. She joined our Goddard Team in September 2011.
Mrs. Pablum - Pre-K 1 Lead Teacher - We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Pablum is our School's Teacher of the Year 2010! Mrs. Pablum has been working with children for over 10 years and has an Associates Degree in Arts (Elementary School, Middle School, and Special Education). Mrs. Pablum states, "I feel that each child is an individual and should be treated as such. Along with a safe environment and age appropriate materials, we as teachers can help promote the different stages of development with every child here at The Goddard School®." Mrs. Pablum has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2009.
Mrs. Rani - Pre-K 1 Assistant Teacher Mrs. Rani is the Assistant Teacher in the Pelican’s classroom. She has worked with children for several years as a nanny and at the Riverside Wellness Center, Tidewater 4-Wheelers and Family Focus Groups. Mrs. Rani is a new mom and is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Mrs. Rani joined our team in June 2010.
Mrs. Kathleen - Pre-K 2 Lead Teacher - Mrs. Kathleen is the Lead Teacher in the Eagles classroom. She recently moved to Virginia from Maryland with her husband. Mrs. Kathleen has been an elementary school teacher, kindergarten through fourth grade, for the past six years. She has received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Summa Cum Laude. She is looking forward to working in the Eagle’s classroom and getting all the children prepared for Kindergarten. Mrs. Kathleen joined the Goddard Team in October 2011.
Ms. Ryanne - Pre-K 2 Assistant Teacher - Ms. Ryanne is the assistant teacher in the Eagles classroom. She is currently working toward a degree in early childhood education and has over five years' experience working with children including running her own childcare. Ms. Ryanne has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since we opened in 2010.
Mrs. Mercedes - Flex Teacher - Mrs. Mercedes is a Flex Teacher. She is currently in school for a degree in Business Administration. She has five years of experience working with children from infant to school-age children. Mrs. Mercedes has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2011.
Mrs. Racheal - Flex Teacher - Mrs. Racheal is one of our flex teachers so she gets to work a little in each of our classrooms. She has older children now, but has over 7 years' experience working with young children. Mrs. Racheal has worked for The Goddard School located in Williamsburg, VA since 2011.
Mrs. Lucy - Flex Teacher - Mrs. Lucy has previously taught at the YMCA Child Development Center as well as Bright Beginnings through WJCC Schools. She has a B.A. with a concentration in Education. Mrs. Lucy is so happy to be a part of The Goddard School® and looks forward to getting to know all of the children. Ms. Lucy joined our team in 2009.
Mrs. Mary Jane - Flex Teacher - Mrs. Mary Jane has lived and worked in Williamsburg for 18 years at the Child Development Resources. She moved away to the valley of Virginia for several years to work for a family business but she is excited to be back in Williamsburg working at The Goddard School®. "All of our children deserve the best we can provide them," states Mary Jane. Mrs. Mary Jane joined our team in 2009.
Ms. Katie - Flex Teacher Ms. Katie is a flex teacher. She has been working with children from infant through four years old for the last six years. Ms. Katie joined our team in 2011.
Ms. Sara J. - Flex Teacher Ms. Sara J. is an afternoon flex teacher. She has worked with young children for several years babysitting. She has also been a volunteer for mission work in Nicaragua. Ms. Sara wants to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education when she graduates high school next year. She joined the Goddard Team in August 2011.
Mrs. Elizabeth M. - Flex Teacher Mrs. Elizabeth M. is a Flex Teacher. She has worked with infants and toddlers for over nine years. Mrs. Elizabeth has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She joined the Goddard Team in October 2011.
Ms. Hannah - Flex Teacher Ms. Hannah is a Flex Teacher who works in the afternoons. She has worked with young children for several years babysitting. In addition, she wants to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education when she graduates high school next year. Ms. Hannah joined the Goddard Team in December 2011.
Ms. Jenna - Flex Teacher Ms. Jenna is a Flex Teacher who works in all of the classrooms. She has worked with preschool children for over 5 years. Ms. Jenna has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, can speak Spanish and knows American Sign Language. She joined the Goddard Team in November 2011.
Mrs. Shayna - Flex Teacher Mrs. Shayna is a Flex Teacher. She recently moved to Virginia with her husband from Utah. She has worked with infant through school-aged children for over a year. She enjoys working with children and can’t wait to get meet all of them. Mrs. Shayna joined the Goddard School in December 2011.
