Matt and Janie Lisagor - Owners - Janie attended Old Dominion University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Education and a Master's degree in Education Administration. Her background includes eleven years of experience as a school teacher. Matt attended Old Dominion University and earned a degree in Accounting. His background includes experience as a CPA, owner and CFO in the healthcare industry. "We are excited and proud to be apart of Goddard and are committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in our neighborhood," adds Janie.
April Melton - Director - April attended Christopher Newport University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Psychology. She has worked with the City of Newport News, Parks & Recreation for nine years as a Recreation Center Supervisor.
"I am excited to be apart of the new Goddard School in Williamsburg. I am looking forward to opening an outstanding preschool program," says April.
Kati Seward - Assistant Director - Kati has worked for The Goddard School® located in Chester for the past two years. She has recently moved from being a First Step Lead Teacher to our new Assistant Director. She has an Associates Degree from Richard Bland and is currently attending ODU to finish her Special Education Degree.
Ms. Emilee - Lead Infant Teacher - Ms. Emilee graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood Development.
Mrs. Jenny - Infant Assistant Teacher - Jenny has over 33 years experience working with children of all ages. She has been working as a nanny for the past three years for five children. She is also a proud mother of two children. "I believe this is the most fulfilling job to have, watching children develop and grow through positive learning," adds Jenny.
Ms. Melissa-Infant Assistant Teacher - Ms. Melissa has several years experience working as a nanny and a camp counselor with the YMCA. She enjoys working with the infants and is excited to watch them learn and grow.
Ms. Brenda - Lead First Step Teacher - Ms. Brenda is a mother of two teenage boys, has been a foster mom for 37 infants, and has over 32 years of child care experience. She currently has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development from Thomas Nelson Community College.
Mrs. Ashley - First Step Assistant Teacher - Mrs. Ashley has worked at the YMCA Child Development Center for the past two years and is currently working towards a degree in Elementary Education. She is excited about working at The Goddard School®.
Ms. Natasha - First Step Lead Teacher - Ms. Natasha lived in Germany for nine years and while living there worked at the Child Development Center for the Army. She is currently finishing her Child Development Associates Certification at Thomas Nelson Community College.
Ms. Kathryn - First Step Assistant - Ms. Kathryn graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire with a Bachelor's of Science in Child Development and a Minor in Sociology. She has had many years experience working with children as a nanny and as a camp counselor.
Ms. Kim - Young Toddler Assistant Teacher - Ms. Kim has experience working with toddlers at another center. She loves working with children and the children enjoy listening to her read stories and fun while learning with Ms. Kim.
Ms. Monique - Young Toddler Lead Teacher - Ms. Monique has received her Child Development Accreditation in both infant/toddler and preschool settings. She has been a lead teacher in New York for the past five years and is excited about working here in Virginia.
Ms. Melissa - Infant Assistant Teacher - Ms. Melissa has several years' experience working as a nanny and a YMCA counselor. In addition, she is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Laura - Toddler Lead Teacher - Ms. Laura has received a BS in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Special Education from Longwood University. She has worked as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and a Speech Pathology Assistant. She enjoys working with young children and is excited about working at The Goddard School®.
Ms. Tonya - Get Set Lead Teacher - Ms. Tonya is the proud parent of three wonderful sons. She has worked in the field of child care since 2006 as an assistant teacher for toddlers. She has her Child Development Accreditation and is currently working towards finishing her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Morgan-Get Set Assistant Teacher - Ms. Morgan has been a caregiver to several local families and has worked for the Newport News public schools. She really enjoys working with children, especially the children in the Get Set classroom.
Ms. Alexis - Preschool Lead Teacher - Ms. Alexis has received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Administration. She has been a lead teacher for several years with various age groups of children. Her favorite age to work with is three-year-olds.
Ms. Whitney- Preschool Assistant Teacher - Ms. Whitney has worked with children for two years as a counselor for the YMCA and as a Sunday school teacher. She is currently a flex teacher so she enjoys working in all the classrooms.
Mrs. Pablum - Pre-K Lead Teacher - Pablum has been working with children for over 10 years and has an Associates Degree in Arts (Elementary School, Middle School, and Special Education). Pablum states, "I feel that each child is an individual and should be treated as such. Along with a safe environment and age appropriate materials, we as teachers can help promote the different stages of development with every child here at The Goddard School®."
Mrs. Lucy - Pre-K Assistant Teacher - Mrs. Lucy has previously taught at the YMCA Child Development Center as well as Bright Beginnings through WJCC Schools. She has a B.A. with a concentration in Education. Mrs. Lucy is so happy to be a part of The Goddard School® and looks forward to getting to know all of the children.
Ms. Jamie - Pre-K Lead Teacher - Ms. Jamie has five years experience working in the early childhood education field and has completed her Child Development Associate Certification. She is excited to prepare the Pre-Kindergartners for Kindergarten.
Mr. Robert - Pre-K Assistant Teacher - Mr. Robert loves working with preschoolers. He has helped to raise his young nephew and has worked at a Child Development Center in Germany for several years.
Mrs. Mary Jane - Flex Teacher - Mary Jane has lived and worked in Williamsburg for 18 years at the Child Development Resources. She moved away to the valley of Virginia for several years to work for a family business but she is excited to be back in Williamsburg working at The Goddard School®. "All of our children deserve the best we can provide them," states Mary Jane.
Ms. Maigan-Flex Teacher - Ms. Maigan is a proud new mother to a baby boy. She has her Associates of Science and is working on her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Ms. Maigan has worked as an assistant teacher at another preschool and also at an in-home daycare for the last three years. She enjoys working with children of all ages!
Ms. Nicki - Flex Teacher - Ms. Nicki has several years' experience working with children and is currently attending school to receive her degree in Early Childhood Development.
Ms. Liz - Assistant Teacher - Toddlers - Ms. Liz is an assistant in the Toddler classroom and is currently going to school at Thomas Nelson Community College for Business Administration. She has been working with children for the last three years.
